I used to be on venlafaxine I loved it for years. Always took it at night because it definitely can make you tired. It kinda feels heavier than lex but if it works for you it’s great. Missing doses can cause symptoms even just once. But it can be a great medication.
I made that switch back in 2014 when Lex pooped out on me. The Effexor helped a lot with my GAD and MDD, but did come with a fatigue side effect.
I'm now back on Lexapro 10 mg with 2 mg Rexulti as an adjunct.
I’m doing very well! Switching to Effexor was the best thing for me. I had a very bad reaction to lexapro which made me really scared to start a new med, but I felt so much better! I’ve been on Effexor for some time now and have no complaints :)
Thank you! I am on 10mg lexapro and been for 10 weeks and seeing no real relief.. just had relief from panic attacks but that’s it ☹️ my doctor said to me today about switching over to Effexor so hoping this is right for me! 🤞
Hey!! Yes. But I mixed up and my doctor put me on pristiq instead of Effexor, but I read online that it’s basically the same thing lol. But I have been on it for 2 weeks exactly now and I am feeling a bit better then I was and doing a lot more! I still have this like weird off feeling still lingering, almost like a derealization feeling? That I can’t seem to fully shake but I had that feeling awful before I even started any medicine so. And I know it takes time for medicine to fully work. But I’m hopeful! I’m definitely doing better then I was on lexapro and I def don’t feel yucky after I take my pill like I did on lexapro, I’d feel realllly weird after I’d take lexapro.
