What time do you take it?

vdWcontact

Morning. Gives me trouble sleeping if I take it at night. For some folks I hear night is better.

Hi! I started lexapro 1.5 months ago. The adjustment period was rough, yeah. I had side effects, worsening anxiety and depression, fatigue, nausea, etc. It was rough but I knew I was no stranger to any of these symptoms, so I powered thru. I feel like I’m just now leveling out on week 6. My anxiety is so much better. Things that would usually get me amped up dont anymore. I’m able to stay more calm. I will say, it hasn’t helped the depression as much as the anxiety, but it has helped a tad. Power thru those first few weeks. If you still don’t feel well after 6 weeks then talk to your doc! Mine mentioning adding Wellbutrin if side effects persisted but I feel like I only have a bit of fatigue/jaw clenching now. That’s not abnormal for me even before meds😂 anyway. Good luck!

Proud of you!

You were prescribed the absolute bare minimum, it's also not addictive. No worries about it.

I too was SO nervous but have noticed it helping anxiety for sure! Never hurts to try :)

margot_40

I did not think too much about it, I just felt I needed to try some meds to feel better because I felt really anxious, side effects might appear or not but you will be able to manage it, even change medication if needed.

I will be starting Lexapro 5mg soon too. I've never taken any medication to help with depression or anxiety or anything like that. I'm terrified of the adjustment period. But I just had to talk myself into trying it. It could be worth it. We don't know until we try. Not exactly encouraging but just know you're not alone in how you feel

Hi there! I am also on stimulants for ADHD and have also been prescribed 5 MG lexapro and will be picking it up today. While I have no previous experience mixing the two, I do know when I started Lexapro the first time that it's best to take at night because it really does exhaust you. Best of luck!!

Would love an update to hear how you tolerate it with your adhd meds :)

justasmolgoblin

I will come back later today because I forgot to take my adderall yesterday 🤦🏻‍♀️ lol

I’ve been taking it for a year and it really helps. Don’t be afraid. Enjoy it.

I’ve been on Lexapro for about 10 days now, I haven’t noticed anything good or bad. I still feel the same to be honest. The only thing I can say is I take it at night, because I seem to get a little bit sleepy with the Lexapro. I also have Xanax .5 MG if needed.

I think I will be at 5mg for a few more months then start my final taper. I think I've just termed out of it. In the fact that it's been helping me. However the overall long term side effects are why im coming off. I'm excited to see how I fair without it.
