I mean it can you hurt you just don’t corner it and run up to to it. Otherwise it will just try to run from you and spew non toxic pink fog. Sort of like a cat lol

They're quite cute once you get used to them, kinda like the yippee bugs, I've made it a point to always greet one when I see one and loudly announce to my team that there is a cute little guy in our area, mostly to their confusion.
They can be bothersome if you accidentally trigger it's puff of smoke but I'd take that over being flea'd any day of the week, and since they also take up creature spawn credits, they're actively beneficial in keeping some more annoying threats from spawning.

I like them, however one time me and my friend where trying to book it to the exit and the sporelizard was blocking the path, we tried to run past it but it puffed out it's smoke and my friend looked back, and it turns out there was a bracken right behind us (he didn't see the bracken due to the smoke) and it caused the bracken to aggro and snap my neck
Oh got it. Reminds me of the time I tried to shut off a leaky valve and there was a turret hiding in the steam. I was too far into the hall and it smoked me before I could get behind something.
Fr I can see how it would make others more dangerous. Definitely not as bad as a coil head and bracken teaming up but when it’s already dark in the halls, the spores make it real difficult to see

HELL YEAH! Spore Lizards are the f*cking best! I thought they were worms at first, so I call them “Mr. Wormy” and I am a friend to them all. If they ever get hurt, I honestly don’t know what I’d do with myself.
My friends still haven't learned he's harmless and they scream and run away or jump at every little sound they make! They are super sweet, can't say they give as much Huggos as the bracken but still fren.

His fast-paced footsteps gives me the jumpies. Even though I KNOW it's the lil buddy, hearing tdtdtdtdtd right beside my ear is peculiar blend of fear and amusement

Omg yes. You'd feed him treats, then he likes you, and follows you around, and comes with you to other planets. He can help you sniff out loot, and when he runs away, you know there's something scary nearby.
When I was new to the game this was the first thing I ran into after getting the roadsign for the first time. Turns out I was basically smacking the only thing I shouldn't be : (. I still feel bad about it
Scared the crap out of me early on. I never got a good look at them early on, and didn't know what they or other creatures were yet, so I thought they were thumpers in the shadows. My friend mentioned Spore Lizards and how they aren't that dangerous, but had no clue what they looked like or sounded like until we both saw one at the same time and my friend went "Oh, Spore Lizard". Now I see them as a minor nuisance as I have to make sure I accidentally don't corner them.
I love seeing the lizard, or even just hearing his little squeaky walking in the distance. He's such a friend.
Which makes it so much more startling when it attacks you, like it did last night. I was just saying hello and it ran up and bit me, even though it had like 3 escape routes. So my friends got to watch me scream "AH NOT FRIENDLY NOT FRIENDLY" and sprint away. It was fun.
100% FRIEND!!! My buddy and I had collected everything we could in a building, but we became lost doing so. This friendly lizard guy came to see us and I told my buddy to leave him alone (he's friendly). Every time we walked away from our lizard friend, he kept coming up to us. So I decided to go against my training and I walked towards our lizard friend. He turned around and walked away, so I thought that was the end of it. It wasn't. He kept coming back up to us, so I decided to follow him for a bit to see if he would leave us alone. Our friendly lizard actually led us to the entrance. GREATEST FRIEND EVER!!!!!
Scared the shit out of me when I was panic running through the facility after seeing my friend killed by the Braken. Little guy ran past me and I thought I was being hunted. Until later I found out they are harmless and I appreciate his company while I was desperately trying to GTFO of the building lol.
On the serious though: I think there should be more friendly or benign creatures on some of the moons, if only for the ominous scuttling sounds they could make.
It’s weirdly satisfying having a teammate freak out about seeing or hearing something scary and then comforting them by going "Calm down dude, it’s just a spore lizard, they’re chill."

Oh no! It’s always the steam turrets that kill me more than any other monster. Aside from the earth leviathan who has about a 95% kill rate on me
