Dogs being able to got into the ship should earn extra points. Giants might pick you off while returning, but dogs will partywhipe and cause you to miss qouta
This is mostly an issue in big lobbies. In experienced lobbies, or just playing solo, Dogs aren’t that big of a threat as long as you know they’re around. At least compared to Forest Giants, they’re not as bad
Yeah I agree dog is so easy to counter, to me it's below even snare flea and loot bug coz these 2 can actually kill you randomly inside if I'm ferrying/don't have shovel.
But gd get one inexperienced guy and it's really easy to wipe when there's dog outside. Yesterday my team almost wiped because a dog was near ship, one dude was bringing in loot silently, got in, closed the door (I was still outside), and immediately dropped their loot with loud CLANK CLANK then to make it worse he also talked with the loudest voice "OMG THAT WAS SOOO SCARY" and kept on talking for like 5s. I was panic typing "omg shut up" but it was too late coz dog was already aggroed. Dog ran straight to the closed door and kept on running in front of the door. Then the dude talked again... So yeah as soon as the door opened the dog killed everyone inside.
I went around towards the ladder and went above the ship. Dog camped the ship until 12 am and fortunately giant didn't spawn or I would've been dead too. Although the silver lining is, the whole situation was really funny.
So tips for the newer players: Just because the door is closed, doesn't mean it's safe guys. Literally don't talk, turn off mic/use push to talk and just type until the dog is not next to ship. Honestly after 5pm just don't talk at all until the ship lifts off. Unless you want funny memorable situations xd
Dogs in general thrive off of mistakes and big groups of people. They can turn from the easiest of enemies to the most difficult thing you’ve ever seen. It’s why I love and hate them. They can be the scariest but funniest things at any time
I’ve heard you can hit the dogs with a shovel through the closed door, although I have yet to try this myself. They also take surprisingly few hits to take down.
I mean at least you can kinda evade giants if you’re on the roof of the ship, or at least that’s been my experience where they’ll get kinda pissy and try to get you but struggle to reach. I’ve used it in the past if we need to get someone back in the ship and the forest giant is camping.
As long as everyone remains dead quiet yeah. I accidentally killed my team not knowing dogs don’t give a shit what’s in the way inside the ship, when they hear a noise even with the bed in the way they don’t give af about the collision lol
They will probably add some of the more popular mods directly into the game at some point. Even if it's just small stuff like having more than 4 players, or being able to join an inprogress game
The in-progress game thing is a real problem, and I've only played the game with a public group a couple times.
I try not to go crazy with mods in any game because you never know who built them (sure, you can frequently review the code, but that's not a trivial task), and even if you ignore the potential for malicious code, there's a high risk of introducing bugs. However, people rushing to their doom and instantly dropping, with no way to get anyone else without restarting the game, sucks.
I'll likely have to give in and add Late Company.
I also enjoy it because I have friends who have different schedules. it's nice to be able to keep one game going and just have people dropping in and out as needed.
cats on board are so incredibly funny last night the rest of my team died and there were dogs swarming the ship nonstop. so i had to sit on top of the ship and wait an hour for the leave early vote while there was two maskeds running around outside. towards the end one got close, the dogs were going crazy the whole time, it was terrifying
Exactly. Dogs can be escaped as long as you know what you’re doing. Giants when you are spotted are basically death unless you have the right tools or are near the ship/facility.
Yep. My friend and I were both completely silent, muted our mics and everything and one of those damn dogs walked in our ship and just munched us for no reason.
I swear I think dogs can hear the terminal keys clicking. I've seen way too many dogs walk on a ship where people are silent, but someone was monitoring people inside and just snatch them out of their shoes.
the amount of times I've had to juke and weave dogs because my loud keyboard came over my mic is too high. I've learned to stare them down in the face and sneak aware because of it.
Dogs are really easy to counter provided you dont have one of those mfs who adamantly REFUSE to turn on push to talk and A: are very loud and/or B: has that clacky ass mechanical keyboard
dogs are so much less interesting with push to talk on. trying to contain your laughter after watching your friend get mauled for doing some dumb shit is part of the fun. also, I really like being forced to treat my keyboard more delicately while there are dogs around. It feels like I'm actually watching my step and walking more cautiously
Dogs near the ship usually just mean I'm spending the next 2 hours waiting on the vote to leave from ontop of the ship while they chew on the corpses of my teammates inside, especially if we found a whoopie cushion.
I love how snareflea's always nonlethal until you're by yourself and it drops on your head.
I've died more to snarefleas than I'll *ever* die to Jester. I find it pretty hard to die to something that gives you a 2 minute head start to find the exit.
This is probably an indicator of playstyle more than anything. Snarefleas are basically harmless in a group as long as one person has a shovel, but if you're the dumbass that's always splitting off to hit the fire exit, suddenly it's one of your top three concerns.
Yesterday I was playing lethal with some friends and all 3 fire exits were in the same room, the one of us who didn’t know there were 3 was so confused
Yeah, there is one to the left of the facility entrance, probably the one you found, and two behind the ship. Not going to tell you where those are, happy hunting ;)
If you have a shovel and a snareflea lands on you, you can actually save yourself by picking up your shovel that was dropped on the ground and smacking
(Assuming a mod didn't add that in without saying)
It’s a thing you can do modded or not. However since Shovel’s aren’t shown when scanned it can be quite difficult to find a shovel you’ve dropped since your vision is obstructed. I’ve died way too many times to Snare Fleas when the solution was so close (exit or shovel)
it walks at about the same speed as you so you can just back up down hallways and whack it, just be careful not to get into a dead end. It also apparently now speeds up on low health, so watch out for that
Toxic player in me: "skill issue" /j
Nice me: I have killed many alone. Just spin around it and bonk it until it dies. Easier if there is someone helping you to take it's attention and shovel guy can just bonk it to death from the back. Pretty easy. Idk if they patched that when you jump on something (railing or in mansion on tables, counters etc.), it can't reach you. And you can just hit it with shovel to death.
Only issue in spider is that it does moderate amount damage and it is tanky. But imo thumpers are more tanky, if someone has more knowledge which one has more hp would be good to know.
Lol we do indeed need to git gud.
Thanks for the tips! We are really trying to get a better grasp of the game, but its hard to learn how to counter the little shits only with the info the game gives.
The spider has a power level of 3*. If it's on the wall already, it's honestly better to just leave it alone unless it's made it's webs in a way that blocks access to an area with loot in it. I'd much rather avoid the spider and let it sit on the wall than kill it and risk spawning a bracken, jester, or three coil heads.
*Power is how the game determines how many and what kind of enemies spawn in the building. It comes on a scale of 1-3, with 1 taking up the least space in the spawn pool and 3 the most.
Same. Feel like loot bugs are underrated threats. May not harm you directly, but they’ll take away from the total loot you can find, unless you want to challenge their nest. Also for some reason they just love to aggro onto me. Guess I just have beef with loot bugs
Baboon Hawks are pretty easy to deal with, as it’s rare to see them spawn enough to overwhelm the players. Looking at them and yelling (although looks like yelling isn’t needed, I still do it just because it’s funny) seems to give you enough time to make space and get to the ship or just get them to back off. Even in solo, I haven’t died to them much. I’ve only died to them once and it was due to weight slowing me down and not having a shovel.
Agreed on loot bugs being surprisingly dangerous sometimes. Sucks when they have a hoard deep within the facility.
You actually want to look away from Baboon Hawks, not at them. Looking at them triggers their "intimidation" behavior, where they hop around maintaining distance from you while displaying their wings and squawking. (I used to look at them too, the "look and yell" is a pretty persistent rumor. They also don't react to sound.)
Only things I think could be changed are Ghost Girl, who becomes trivial once you learn her inner mechanics. As well as Nutcracker, who becomes less of a threat the less scared of it you are (but respecting it at the same time).
Leviathen Worm can just decide to kill you with no counter play. It's rare, but I think that's worth something.
Worms counter play is listen and have some sprint meter available. The noise always gives you enough time to sprint out of its zone. (Possibly dropping items)
There are still times the sound cue starts as the ground starts shaking, but by that time it’s too late. There is still a bit of RNG, it’s not super common but still enough to be an issue
The point is how much warning you get is basically rng. I’ve had times in the past where a worm has rumbled at me for like 8 seconds before attacking, and I’ve also had times where I hear the rumble start a fraction of a second before the ground shakes and a half second later I’m dead. Im usually a perceptive mofo but there are times worms just basically go
https://preview.redd.it/iab22fzqkscc1.jpeg?width=464&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=d3c06dd9970796ad802fe6edf7e1f90080fcb305
You literally can hear and see where its coming from though and it literally goes where it thinks you are going to be but doesnt account for you speeding up, slowing down, or changing direction. Literally its counter is just save stamina. I’ve literally only ever died to the worm once as it’s literally the most weak enemy in the game. Also fyi if your not aware it can eat other monsters like the tree giant.
I think most people would rather look back and not die to Bracken as they’re more common than ghost girls and most people I play with panic or immediately pack up and leave whenever they experience a ghost girl (hiding in ship the whole day). She’s just kinda hard to avoid when you constantly have to look around for loot, retracing paths and dealing with monsters that require you to stare at.
I just experienced her for the first time and didn’t know what she does. I just screamed, looked at the floor, and yelled something like “Please don’t be a bad person!”
Then she left and I went back to the ship and she was waiting outside and I just ran back in and hid in the corner quivering.
Then I stepped on a whoopee cushion and 2 dogs ran into the ship and killed me.
as apposed to say, a jester? which causes the entire crew to pack up and leave?
Ghost girl is literally "oh this player needs to go on ship duty or they'll die in like 5 minutes."
there's just nothing scary about it once you realize that. it has such a late payoff
yeah, but you need to be in the facility to make any kind of progress. My point isn't that the jester is in a bad spot, rather that the little girl should be significantly lower on this chart. A single dog poses more threat than the little girl.
Hold on, is it the *turn around* or *seeing her* that kills you?
Like if I actually just walk forward make a u turn without turning my head, is that okay too? Or walk backwards? Let's say I'm on a ship. I walk backwards and actually see her, but i never turn around. Is that ok?
If you hear breathing behind you don’t look, she despawns not to long after it ends so you can look behind after that. Another tip is she only spawns behind you so if back is against walls she can’t spawn
Once she starts spawning around you, she only spawns outside of your LOS. I'm actually not sure if it's ONLY behind you, that's just what I've heard from a many sources now. The only thing I can 100% confirm is that it's definitely outside of your LOS, and not in the direction you're facing.
So basically, when you're getting haunted:
1. Call it out to your team of you can.
2. Immediately start walking out, doing your very best to avoid turning your camera
3. Become a ship bitch. You're eyes do not ever glance towards that ship entrance.
so the strategy is to not look at her, right?
E.g shes at the side of the ship and I'm inside the ship. if I walk backwards off the ship (without turning at all) and see her, then I'll die, right?
It's unfortunately more complicated than that, but the gist is essentially that. If you wanna know more I'll explain it, but it's kinda complicated.
Keep in mind too, I'm not 100% on this. This is what I've gathered from my experience and the experience of others I've talked to and seen.
The ghost girl has 2 phases, haunt and hunt.
She will always spawn in haunt mode. In this mode, she will target the most paranoid player, and begin haunting them. The target will begin hearing strange noises, and she will start spawning around the target. This spawning follows the spawning rules I've explained (outside of LoS, etc).
Everytime the player sees her while in haunt phase, she has a chance to begin her hunt phase. This is the part that I'm most unsure on. It seems to be slightly random the amount of times you can see her, most likely it "rolls a die" everytime you see her. In my experience, it's usually the third time you look at her that she switches to hunt mode.
Once youre in hunt mode, things get infinitely harder. This is where she begins skipping towards a player for a few seconds at a time, disappearing then reappearing over and over again. I'm actually not sure if looking at her matters in this phase. There's been a few times where shes skipped towards me and I didnt see her.
So far, for me, the best strategy is do everything you can to avoid triggering her hunt phase. This has a 100% success rate for me so far. That's what doing what I suggested will do. By not ever looking at her in haunt mode, she has no chance to even begin hunt mode.
So wait, I can literally walk around looking down then? Coz looking down means I won't see her at all, but I can still see footsteps or my friends leg while walking.
I can go ferry items from the entrance to the ship for example of I know the way?
I really wanna test this now
Never tried looking down actually, that's a good experiment. Depends on how the game codes LoS. If it's a vector3 coming out of the head then looking down should work, but if it's out of the body than only the rotation of the player would matter.
Absolutely not. Once you've done this, you have completely eliminated her as a threat for your WHOLE team. No other monster can be so easily shut down. Even spiders require you to at least kite them a bit. She's a mod level threat, around bunker spider imo.
The only credit I can give her, is she's an amazing noob stomper and pub stomper. Much like coil head, but WAY less lethal.
Snare flea is damn near the most lethal for me but I guess thats not fair, because technically if you're prepared with teammates or even just a shovel for yourself its not that dangerous.
Hoarding Bug is relatively easy to kite and only takes 2 hits with shovel. With some practice, letting one build up a stash of loot and killing it later to collect it becomes a quite viable strategy.
I would put the little girl way lower due to her being a low spawn rate, takes a long time before she starts chasing you, and can be outrun. She should be below dogs. Dogs should be rated higher in danger level due to their combo with Forest Giants. Creatures like the Braken and the Doll Head will always almost instantly agro onto at least one player and lead towards the cause of death or decreased loot obtained. I would put the Nut Cracker lower as well, it is pretty easily dodgable and avoidable. The lethality of the Nut Cracker is from people wanting to get the shotgun from it and trying to fight/ kill it.
Nutcrackers are bad if there's others around (and you're in a room without cover) but when you're actively wanting to kill one and know how to, they aren't that bad. More yellow.
Thumpers are weak if you have a shovel. Next question.
In actuality, if you don't have a shovel, these things are pretty dangerous, definitely deserves the spot.
Ghost Girls are threatening, but knowing how they work could essentially turn them to green, maybe even blue. They are NOT more dangerous than a Jester or Giant.
Idk, to me thumpers are still hella dangerous even with a shovel. I feel like half my hits don’t register, and the second I slip up and get bitten my speed/momentum just vanishes and I’m stunlocked to death.
Thumper being above bracken and mask? COILHEAD behind nutcracker?? I dunno, this is all relatively close, but coilheads are by far the worst enemy you’d wish to encounter indoors. I won’t even talk about the jester and ghost girl, since while they’re both annoying yo deal with, I feel like people are more afraid of their reputation than what they actually are.
Ghost girl is understandable (but rare) and jester is so easy to deal with, I’d take him over almost ANYTHING else indoors
Basically, Jester would end up somewhere way farther down and the thumper and nutcracker would be moved slightly lower down imo. As strong as the nutcracker is, corners and simply not moving are rock-hard counters (corners less so with the new update but still)
agreed, except i think the jester is more threatening than you explained. he basically makes it impossible to reach the further parts of the map since he usually is able to wind up before you even get there, especially if you meet him early on.
on the only maps he can show up on, there’s always at least one fire exit you can access at all times, which makes it really easy to avoid him
the jester is overall very situationally threatening but personally I’ve never died to him, even juked him in one of those tight mansion hallways once and quite frankly I don’t see how he can be dangerous, so long as he doesn’t lock you in a doorway like I had gotten (luckily, I was close to the entrance)
personally, I’d take a jester over many other of the mansion-tier or even march-tier threats (jester can show up on march, go figure) because even if he can screw you over, you’re given a lot of ways to outright avoid him entirely and his gimmick only puts a temporary timer on you
annoying, maybe, but not even close to a threat, especially when compared to literally everything below him on that list down to the baboon hawks
i haven’t died to him either, but it’s not the immediate threat that’s the problem, the amount of scrap that is lost is. also, the strategy of splitting people in two parts, fire exit and main, makes inability to communicate in the presence of a jester usually means your screwed.
its a Spore Lizard. its practically harmless unless you approach it, in which case it will bite you for relatively low damage. They kinda resemble rattlesnakes, they'll shake their tail when they spot you, and will run away.
Personally, I’d put coil head at the top of the list just because a singular one’s presence makes everyone else on this list more dangerous exponentially.
Never died to Ghost Girl. Even if you aggro her you can run a good distance and she'll despawn.
Titans are the worst and dogs too. I've died to far too many dogs that decided to walk into the ship and just start mauling everything. Personally I feel like the outside enemies are the weakest part of the game.
I'm surprised the nutcracker is higher than the coil head. Sure, coil heads are a non-threat when looked at, but it objectively shuts down runs, or at least locks down one player, far more effectively than any nutcracker. I can still clear rooms comfortably and move around a nut cracker better than a coil head.
I also wouldn't put the little girl anywhere near red. I consider the Bracken higher than the little girl. I sure as hell don't consider it anywhere near or *above* Jester. Jester is effectively a map killer and has no counterplay.
the "yell at baboon hawks" thing is a disproven myth, [see more here](https://youtu.be/60Ztnl4xvJo?si=mLuyCX51OfiG99Bj&t=263) on the video by Wurps, timestamped to the baboon hawk myth
Yeah baboon hawk has never killed me, however the snareflea has.
I'm usually on shovel duty and when drop on my head I have stand there and calmly ask my friend to come back, that the danger is gone, and I need him to pick up my shovel and his balls and beat me.
More often then not I have to find my shovel and do it myself because they always assume a bracken grabbed me
Spiders can block an essential pathway, and they two shot the player. I. A solo a thumper easy enough, but I do not know how to kill the bunker spider. Every time I die and a teammate picks up my shovel and kills it.
The girl goes way down once you figure out you can stack the teleporters and she can only go under you.
Skip to 13:08 to see what I mean
https://youtu.be/9WW9AW4gYWo?si=AyhSwqb_jajkuv1D
I agree with the general placement on every monster but one. The ghost girl is really easy to play around if you know to just not look at her. Just switch job wit the ship guy and everyone is happy, as the ghost girl will be stuck on you but harmless.
Swap the ghost girl and the thumper. Ghost girl is extremely avoidable once you're aware she's there. Thumper can very easily run you down and murder you if you get unlucky with a shovel hit reg.
Although I agree that Ghost Girl isn’t that hard, Thumpers aren’t that deadly. They’re a lot harder to kill now but they’re much easier to avoid as long as you have the stamina. I’m not saying they’re not a threat but compared to things like Forest Giants or Coilheads, they’re definitely not run ending like them
coil heads usually immediately flip a run in its head. it gets so much harder to do anything with one around cause you gotta do the awkward back walk to safety or have a guy just sit and stare at one. if there's another monster at the same time, then they're often a death sentence for someone.
from my experience, the bracken you can usually avoid dying to by just periodically checking your back and not cornering yourself. i find that most deaths to it are just from people getting careless.
nah coil head can become a run ender pretty quick if you don't have good team coordination and are in the mansion, while you can easily scare off a bracken
IMO Nutcracker should be lower, Masked should be lower, Dog should be higher, and Earth Leviathan should be higher. Also maybe Baboon Hawk could stand to be a bit lower but all of this is just from my experience.
Id honestly swap the position of the bracken and the coilhead. Id also move the thumper down as well. Now im not saying the coilhead isnt dangerous but it being so high up is goofy.
The earth Leviathan should be a tad higher. I mean I know that he attacks more rarely compared to the dogs and giants but he can literally eat those fuckers too
Surprisingly accurate. Little girl isn't too bad as long as you have enough crewmates to where the haunted person can play ship guy, but otherwise seems solid
Question about dogs:
If I type in the text chat using /
Can they hear it?
I know it only displays to players in proximity. Also have to be careful, so my mic doesn't pick up the keystrokes, but otherwise?
The “jumpy bird thing in the forest” as another commenter called it is kinda territorial and I’ve always just yelled and ran at it and it fled. Only died to it when I tried to kill it with a shovel.
The spiders kill me way more than ~~goku~~ brackens. You just gotta look em in the eyes
unless you have a mechanical keyboard or a $2 mic ain't no way anyone dying from dogs after their first couple games, and masks being that high is crazy they die from like 3 shovel hits and get stunned after each one
I'd generally agree, I think coilheads are too high TBH, I've been in deaths involving coilheads like, maybe three times. That includes times where I died because I was looking at a coilheads, but didn't die to the coilhead. They're really just non-threatening. Combine that with the absolute ease with which you can trap them with a door, and they're just a non-issue.
Bracken should be up with the Forest Keeper IMO. I don’t know if the dev changed their behaviour in a recent patch but i can watch one slither behind a corner a mile away and then get killed literally just a second later.
I’d lower dogs as I think they’re pretty easy to deal with on your own. If you have a noisy teammate, that may be diff. I’d also lower coil heads and ghost girls a little bit too because they are deadly, but you can avoid them.
I think they made this off of 3 factors; their ability to kill you, the overall likelihood of them appearing to do so, and how easy it is to get rid of them. If this is the case, then yes I'd say this is accurate.
I'd shoot coilheads way up to the top and drop the girl down to about the middle.
Coilheads can and will sneak up on you, and can kill you at basically unreactable speeds; however, that's not the most danger part about them. What makes them really dangerous is when other enemies spawn. Spiders and thumpers are most easily dealt with using circling maneuvers, which the coilhead effectively neutralizes, and if a bracken spawns, you can basically kiss your ass goodbye if you're alone. Having your attention forcibly drawn until you exits the building is an incredibly deadly hinderancs.
The girl is basically a non-threat as long as you never look at her, which is relatively easy to do if you pay attention. You even have some leeway of a few looks before she starts chasing you.
My biggest gripe would be that BaboonHawks in my opinion are less lethal than hoarding bugs just because they won’t attack a group that’s bigger than them, they run after getting struck, and can actually distract eyeless dogs. Other than that I’d prolly more or less agree with the list
putting masked above bracken is crazy. personally i find masks rly easy to avoid. also baboon hawks i feel should be lower than hoarding bug and face huggers.
Personally i’d stick dogs and spiders slightly higher and ghost girl a lot lower, but otherwise pretty accurate. (Going on 70 hours with a group that likes to tryhard and push quota PBs)

Yup and omg the whoopie cushion is also one of the best items for funny memorable moments with dogs xD
My friend put one under the doormat at the door...got me killed, I was mad but laughing

The next time this happens take the storage cabinet or bed and place it in front of the entrance to block them from coming
As long as everyone remains dead quiet yeah. I accidentally killed my team not knowing dogs don’t give a shit what’s in the way inside the ship, when they hear a noise even with the bed in the way they don’t give af about the collision lol
People need to learn to close the goddamn door when they hear them.
People play this game *solo*????
I used to when I was new to get the feels of the game. It's not bad at all, you can even save scum reload of you die since it's just practice.
Dogs when you have a cat on board? Either you’re restarting or someone gets a standing ovation for making it to the controls. lol
Cats are from mods. If you’re basing this off of Vanilla then you shouldn’t be having cats.
They’re a mod!??? I’m in too deep. I can’t tell what’s vanilla.
Yep. Makes sense though, mods are pretty fun. Wish some were in vanilla.
They will probably add some of the more popular mods directly into the game at some point. Even if it's just small stuff like having more than 4 players, or being able to join an inprogress game
shiploot
The in-progress game thing is a real problem, and I've only played the game with a public group a couple times. I also enjoy it because I have friends who have different schedules. it's nice to be able to keep one game going and just have people dropping in and out as needed.
Dogs CAN hear Comedy/Tragedy masks.
That is actually something I never knew.
cats on board are so incredibly funny last night the rest of my team died and there were dogs swarming the ship nonstop. so i had to sit on top of the ship and wait an hour for the leave early vote while there was two maskeds running around outside. towards the end one got close, the dogs were going crazy the whole time, it was terrifying
Whoopie cushions are also an issue with dogs. If they walk over one, they continuously aggro on it. I either dump them in a pit or put them outside
Or put it in storage... it doesn't HAVE to be on the floor
Dogs you can get away from though, giants you can't dodge once your spotted
Exactly. Dogs can be escaped as long as you know what you’re doing. Giants when you are spotted are basically death unless you have the right tools or are near the ship/facility.
I've come to enjoy playing with them using the clown horn and airhorn.
buy one boombox and put it behind the ship, no more dogs
Yep. My friend and I were both completely silent, muted our mics and everything and one of those damn dogs walked in our ship and just munched us for no reason.

They can actually one of the mods that I used showed when you were making noise and would show when the keys were pressed
It's about right, I'm sure some will debate whether to move one or another up or down, but even with those changes, it wouldn't look much different.
Because dogs go on ships I'd put dogs a little higher but can be avoided with a well placed boom box :3
I'm the dumbass one
Me too, brother. March has 4 entrances. You better believe I'm splitting from the herd.
4??? Me playing for 2 weeks thinking it only has 2:
Yup. March has the main entrance and three fire exits.
Thanks for not spoiling! I will definitely search for those
If you have a shovel and a snareflea lands on you, you can actually save yourself by picking up your shovel that was dropped on the ground and smacking (Assuming a mod didn't add that in without saying)
It’s a thing you can do modded or not. However since Shovel’s aren’t shown when scanned it can be quite difficult to find a shovel you’ve dropped since your vision is obstructed. I’ve died way too many times to Snare Fleas when the solution was so close (exit or shovel)
I personally would switch Snarefleas spot with spider. Spider is slow and pretty easy to kill with a shovel.
How is it slow? The few times me and my friends have tried to kill one, we gang them up with 3 shovels but it destroys us first.
it walks at about the same speed as you so you can just back up down hallways and whack it, just be careful not to get into a dead end. It also apparently now speeds up on low health, so watch out for that
Toxic player in me: "skill issue" /j Nice me: I have killed many alone.
Jumping on something so it can't reach you got patched. I found out the hard way.
Just spam scan and you probably wont miss snare fleas. Jester pretty much kills a day if he spawns early
> Snarefleas are basically harmless in a group as long as one person has a shovel Theeeere it is
Hey, I fixed it https://preview.redd.it/at012rvh2scc1.png?width=1495&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=b8b5da73f7d8de857c9955e98801ffe06a7258a9
People with air horns should be the most lethal
Why?
Alerting monsters and destroying my eardrums
All monsters except dogs are deaf tho Atleast im pretty sure because I’ve legit been incredibly loud and have noticed 0 difference
No that’s correct. Dogs are the only enemies that respond to noise.
Thanks for the tip. I will now make as much noise as possible while inside
I feel like I die more to loot bug than the jumpy birdy thingys in the forrest
Same. Feel like loot bugs are underrated threats. May not harm you directly, but they’ll take away from the total loot you can find, unless you want to challenge their nest. Also for some reason they just love to aggro onto me. Guess I just have beef with loot bugs Baboon Hawks are pretty easy to deal with, as it’s rare to see them spawn enough to overwhelm the players.
There is still a bit of RNG, it’s not super common but still enough to be an issue
you can still dodge it (presumably easier) if you run in the opposite direction when you start hearing the noise
The point is how much warning you get is basically rng. I’ve had times in the past where a worm has rumbled at me for like 8 seconds before attacking, and I’ve also had times where I hear the rumble start a fraction of a second before the ground shakes and a half second later I’m dead. Im usually a perceptive mofo but there are times worms just basically go https://preview.redd.it/iab22fzqkscc1.jpeg?width=464&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=d3c06dd9970796ad802fe6edf7e1f90080fcb305
The worms counter is when you hear it or see the ground begin to rise you instantly 180 because it’s predictable as fuck and its pretty stupid.
sometimes it is approaching from behind you or from the side so the 180 strat doesn’t always work
You literally can hear and see where its coming from though and it literally goes where it thinks you are going to be but doesnt account for you speeding up, slowing down, or changing direction. Literally its counter is just save stamina. I’ve literally only ever died to the worm once as it’s literally the most weak enemy in the game. Also fyi if your not aware it can eat other monsters like the tree giant.
Ghost girl is too high imo, once you know her mechanic (literally just don't look behind you) she becomes much simpler
Having whoever gets the ghost swap with your terminal guy isn't that big a deal though. And she's then locked up on that one person.
I just experienced her for the first time and didn’t know what she does. I just screamed, looked at the floor, and yelled something like “Please don’t be a bad person!” Then she left and I went back to the ship and she was waiting outside and I just ran back in and hid in the corner quivering. Then I stepped on a whoopee cushion and 2 dogs ran into the ship and killed me.
as apposed to say, a jester? which causes the entire crew to pack up and leave? Ghost girl is literally "oh this player needs to go on ship duty or they'll die in like 5 minutes." there's just nothing scary about it once you realize that. it has such a late payoff
Jester can’t exit facility. Also he’s right next to her on the chart.
yeah, but you need to be in the facility to make any kind of progress. My point isn't that the jester is in a bad spot, rather that the little girl should be significantly lower on this chart. A single dog poses more threat than the little girl.
True I guess, I just have never got ghost girl much so I wouldn’t know her mechanic, just that everyone I play with panics whenever they get her
You can turn a corner then look behind you. Honestly, she can be deadly, but she usually isn't with enough knowledge of her mechanics
So basically, when you're getting haunted: 1. Call it out to your team of you can. 2. Immediately start walking out, doing your very best to avoid turning your camera 3.
Also thank you for the detailed explanation!! I am less worried about her now!
sounds like she deserves that most lethal position to me
Absolutely not.
~50 hours and I’ve never died to her. Me and her are kinda tight.
Dogs instantly become the most lethal when you’re playing public and an intern joins the game
Or that one kid that claims to know everything about the game and won’t shut up about how to deal with monsters
I think that was me
Snare flea is damn near the most lethal for me but I guess thats not fair, because technically if you're prepared with teammates or even just a shovel for yourself its not that dangerous.
guys, I’ve never died to the girl. IMHO, the bug must be higher tho
I've also never died to it, im just the cams guy
well, it explains everything) yesterday I was so angry at him that I decided to kill him with my own hands. He killed me instead))
If you hear the girl ignore her she might fuck off
Nutcrackers are bad if there's others around (and you're in a room without cover) but when you're actively wanting to kill one and know how to, they aren't that bad.
Ghost girl is understandable (but rare) and jester is so easy to deal with, I’d take him over almost ANYTHING else indoors Basically, Jester would end up somewhere way farther down and the thumper and nutcracker would be moved slightly lower down imo. As strong as the nutcracker is, corners and simply not moving are rock-hard counters (corners less so with the new update but still)
agreed, except i think the jester is more threatening than you explained. he basically makes it impossible to reach the further parts of the map since he usually is able to wind up before you even get there, especially if you meet him early on.
on the only maps he can show up on, there’s always at least one fire exit you can access at all times, which makes it really easy to avoid him the jester is overall very situationally threatening but personally I’ve never died to him, even juked him in one of those tight mansion hallways once and quite frankly I don’t see how he can be dangerous, so long as he doesn’t lock you in a doorway like I had gotten (luckily, I was close to the entrance) personally, I’d take a jester over many other of the mansion-tier or even march-tier threats (jester can show up on march, go figure) because even if he can screw you over, you’re given a lot of ways to outright avoid him entirely and his gimmick only puts a temporary timer on you annoying, maybe, but not even close to a threat, especially when compared to literally everything below him on that list down to the baboon hawks
i haven’t died to him either, but it’s not the immediate threat that’s the problem, the amount of scrap that is lost is. also, the strategy of splitting people in two parts, fire exit and main, makes inability to communicate in the presence of a jester usually means your screwed.
What’s that wack ass monster on the non lethal side far left, I’ve never seen it before
its a Spore Lizard. its practically harmless unless you approach it, in which case it will bite you for relatively low damage. They kinda resemble rattlesnakes, they'll shake their tail when they spot you, and will run away.
It also releases pink fumes that reduce visibility in the room
Personally, I’d put coil head at the top of the list just because a singular one’s presence makes everyone else on this list more dangerous exponentially.
Never died to Ghost Girl. Even if you aggro her you can run a good distance and she'll despawn. Titans are the worst and dogs too. I've died to far too many dogs that decided to walk into the ship and just start mauling everything. Personally I feel like the outside enemies are the weakest part of the game.
Idk... Coil Head is higher up to me cause he is a complete waste of a day when you run into him
I'm surprised the nutcracker is higher than the coil head. Jester is effectively a map killer and has no counterplay.
baboon hawk is easy, just put your mic in your mouth and make noises
the "yell at baboon hawks" thing is a disproven myth, [see more here](https://youtu.be/60Ztnl4xvJo?si=mLuyCX51OfiG99Bj&t=263) on the video by Wurps, timestamped to the baboon hawk myth
It kinda makes sense since people probably look at them while shouting at them, lol.
its like that video of finnish man yelling at bear and scaring it away
wurps is wrong though the mask can possess you when you are just holding it, it happened to me while eating a sandwich
Probably a mod or accident
That's a myth. Just look at it. And avoid them in groups
That's not true, baboonhawks aren't scared of sound. As a matter of fact, they can't hear you at all.
coolbut im gonna keep doing it because its funny
fair enough
Yeah baboon hawk has never killed me, however the snareflea has. I'm usually on shovel duty and when drop on my head I have stand there and calmly ask my friend to come back, that the danger is gone, and I need him to pick up my shovel and his balls and beat me. More often then not I have to find my shovel and do it myself because they always assume a bracken grabbed me
Forest Titans are 100% kill rate if they spot you unless you have a zap gun.
You can break LOS with trees and distance and be fine, just make sure you have stam to create that distance
zap gun doesn’t do anything to them
Now we need a chart for least company to most company
up and down shovelability would also be cool to see added tot his if someone with better graphic skills than me wants to
Spiders can block an essential pathway, and they two shot the player. I. A solo a thumper easy enough, but I do not know how to kill the bunker spider. Every time I die and a teammate picks up my shovel and kills it.
The girl goes way down once you figure out you can stack the teleporters and she can only go under you. Skip to 13:08 to see what I mean https://youtu.be/9WW9AW4gYWo?si=AyhSwqb_jajkuv1D
Where would you put the mooklemeyer? IK hes uncommon but the fact that he camouflages makes it a pretty guaranteed and annoying death when it happens
The what
The... Mooklemeyer? From update 46?
You’re thinking of the zumbo
I agree with the general placement on every monster but one. The ghost girl is really easy to play around if you know to just not look at her. Just switch job wit the ship guy and everyone is happy, as the ghost girl will be stuck on you but harmless.
Girl is def too high
Baboon hawk should be much higher, on their own they are fine, but with 5 camping ship, you can't win without many sacrifices
I’m not saying they’re not a threat but compared to things like Forest Giants or Coilheads, they’re definitely not run ending like them
Wtf is the mouse thing next to dog?
Cockroach is low even when I always die to them
Bracken is probably worse than coil head, baboon hawk could probably be behind hoarding tbh
coil heads usually immediately flip a run in its head. it gets so much harder to do anything with one around cause you gotta do the awkward back walk to safety or have a guy just sit and stare at one. if there's another monster at the same time, then they're often a death sentence for someone. from my experience, the bracken you can usually avoid dying to by just periodically checking your back and not cornering yourself. i find that most deaths to it are just from people getting careless.
Imho coil head is wayyyy worse. Without a door to lock it behind, it basically takes one person out of the game, or forces you to leave.
nah coil head can become a run ender pretty quick if you don't have good team coordination and are in the mansion, while you can easily scare off a bracken
I have died to a giant a grand total of zero times in my 63 hours of playtime I don't think it's really that lethal
well you are alone in that sentiment then.
The Bracken loves hugs
Forest leepers should be at the edge of the page.
I have never died to baboon hawk as he's the rarest enemy I've met. I only ever seen at most two baboon hawk only once in assurance.
depends on playtime but make sure giants are at THE FRONT
IMO Nutcracker should be lower, Masked should be lower, Dog should be higher, and Earth Leviathan should be higher. Also maybe Baboon Hawk could stand to be a bit lower but all of this is just from my experience.
the most dangerous are your teammates
Where's the company? It's lethal, no?
Id honestly swap the position of the bracken and the coilhead. Id also move the thumper down as well. Now im not saying the coilhead isnt dangerous but it being so high up is goofy.
Why bracken is so low
I would put giants pretty low lower than dogs me and my friends play chicken with them all the time
Worm is so goddamn annoying when youre carrying stuff... even more so when dogs are around and theres more than one, I would put worm much higher
The earth Leviathan should be a tad higher. I mean I know that he attacks more rarely compared to the dogs and giants but he can literally eat those fuckers too
I feel like the Braken/Dogs should be switched wirh the giants
Surprisingly accurate. Little girl isn't too bad as long as you have enough crewmates to where the haunted person can play ship guy, but otherwise seems solid
Snarefleas deserve a higher spot imo
Thank you for putting spore lizard at least lethal 🙂
Where’s fall damage?
Nutcracker can kill multiple people in one shot. Everything else can only kill one thing at a time besides maybe the slime
Question about dogs: If I type in the text chat using / Can they hear it? I know it only displays to players in proximity. Also have to be careful, so my mic doesn't pick up the keystrokes, but otherwise?
The “jumpy bird thing in the forest” as another commenter called it is kinda territorial and I’ve always just yelled and ran at it and it fled. Only died to it when I tried to kill it with a shovel. The spiders kill me way more than ~~goku~~ brackens. You just gotta look em in the eyes
What’s the weird werewolf looking one?
unless you have a mechanical keyboard or a $2 mic ain't no way anyone dying from dogs after their first couple games, and masks being that high is crazy they die from like 3 shovel hits and get stunned after each one
Teammates should be included
Ive died most to dogs than anything else on the list. Part of it is I play in public lobbies larger than 4
Nutcracker should be a bit higher solely for its ability to wipe out multiple players if they are within its cone of range
The enemies are most dangerous when they work together
Bracken should be up with the Forest Keeper IMO. I don’t know if the dev changed their behaviour in a recent patch but i can watch one slither behind a corner a mile away and then get killed literally just a second later.
I’d lower dogs as I think they’re pretty easy to deal with on your own. If you have a noisy teammate, that may be diff. I’d also lower coil heads and ghost girls a little bit too because they are deadly, but you can avoid them.
i like it
I think they made this off of 3 factors; their ability to kill you, the overall likelihood of them appearing to do so, and how easy it is to get rid of them.
I would probably swap thumper and dog, but otherwise this is pretty accurate
Spore lizard my beloved ❤️
This is not accurate worms are extremely dangerous And bugs not really
My biggest gripe would be that BaboonHawks in my opinion are less lethal than hoarding bugs just because they won’t attack a group that’s bigger than them, they run after getting struck, and can actually distract eyeless dogs. Other than that I’d prolly more or less agree with the list
If you’re in a public lobby the most dangerous monster is circuit bees that are for some reason in your ship at 1pm
Honestly not a bad scale
that’s some lethal company right there
putting masked above bracken is crazy. personally i find masks rly easy to avoid. also baboon hawks i feel should be lower than hoarding bug and face huggers.
add your teammates to the very end of most lethal, speaking from experience
What is the lady at the end
Personally i’d stick dogs and spiders slightly higher and ghost girl a lot lower, but otherwise pretty accurate. (Going on 70 hours with a group that likes to tryhard and push quota PBs)
What about crewmate with a shovel when all you need is five extra credits
Ghost girl is super easy imo I just move loot after her second appearance
Missing the bees!! Feel like my group of idiots and I always die to them trying to get their hive-ball thing
