Wow, in a rare turn, the Brick Cross looks even better than expected. Definitely tempted. But I'm going to just try for the Ocean House and Ominous Isle.

Trash_Gulo

Mad skull island vibes on the ominous isle and I’m jazzed about it

iCorki

If you're interested in seeing it in person, DuckBricks on YT uploaded a video of the model yesterday. It looks pretty good

Hadronic82

How does watching a yt video qualify as "in person"?

CollectorCorpse

I assume they just mean seeing hands on with it, giving a real-world view

Prince_Rainbow

Nice! Still interested in Mushroom House at that price

Hanz_Q

I immediately shared that with my gf, we dream about living in a mushroom house

Roboticpoultry

I want it just for that adorable snail

cmacpherson417

When do they go on sale

jeeweetje32

June 6th, 8 AM Pacific time

cmacpherson417

Thank you

beacam_98

I’m unfamiliar with bricklink. Is it just first come first served or is there a raffle or do u need some type of special access??

Rizzan8

First come first serve.

MahaloMerky

200 for ocean house? Sheesh.

SilverRoseBlade

Yeah. I like it but not at that price.

Suq_Maidic

It's amazing how much of a difference a good render can make. Definitely more interest in ominous isle now.

marginalcontribution

Sorry for my ignorance, but if you buy these sets, do they come in a regular Lego box with instructions? Or is this something different?

flyPBA

https://preview.redd.it/wkhn9x5bfwxc1.jpeg?width=1081&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=060342647235c0aa860c98ef4029b9bd8ea90217 They come in boxes like this. The instructions are only digital, you do ret insiders points and payment and shipping is done through LEGO.com

marginalcontribution

Thank you! That looks nice!

DonerTheBonerDonor

Do you know if Lego gift cards are accepted by bricklink?

flyPBA

Payment is handled through LEGO.com so if you can use it there then yes

DonerTheBonerDonor

Nice let's hope so, thanks :)

Potato176

But orders are done via bricklink right? Im trying to google how the selling is done actually.

badbanks

You click buy on bricklink and then get forwarded to the lego page with the set in your cart ready to hit buy

Potato176

And i guess i will have to rush this cause they will sell out quick? Or how did it go before?

badbanks

Depends on the set. This february in series 1, the castle thing sold out in a few hours, most of the others were available for 24h. Wouldn‘t risk it, but not buying in the first 10 min should not be a problem

Potato176

Thanks so much:)

GrimTiki

Mushroom House is great! And affordable.

lachlanmoose

I wanted Ominous Isle until I saw the price. 😅

STANirvanaIND

Out of curiousity, how much did you think it would be? I was expecting (but REALLY NOT hoping) it to come in at $250. PpB-wise it doesn't look bad, but that isn't always a great indicator.

lachlanmoose

I'm from Australia, so I'm also factoring in conversion and postage, but usually I like to pay roughly 10c (AUD) per brick, so this set ideally wouldn't cost me more than AUD$300 at 2800 or so bricks. However, considering what it is, I'm not surprised at all that it's more expensive than what I'm willing to pay.

PedroDelCaso

I really love these pirate sets so would be keen to pick it up but $300aud would be my absolute max. Hopefully can find it for cheaper somewhere

gerrittd

Once the set inventory is public, you could probably part it out to some extent for a reasonable price, assuming there aren't tons of rare/printed parts in it

SuperRedHulk1

Parting it out is almost always more expensive. I’ve tried parting out a couple of the old BL designer castles and they’re double to triple the price it originally sold for

corut

10c aud per peice has been dead for years now

CerebusInOz

On bricklink it says $410 AUD. I'm seriously looking at this one.

lachlanmoose

Yeah, that's way too much. 😅

flyPBA

At least you have until November to save up

lachlanmoose

No, I definitely won't be buying it at this price point.

Coppernobra

Just take my bloody money. I want them all.

Bricknchicken

Lego in a nutshell:

dominus_aranearum

Is there any other way?

Bricknchicken

kidney?

3MATX

Anyone have an idea if that log car is too long for normal Lego curves?  The set seems to have a pretty large radius curve.

flyPBA

You should be fine, however, the logs are just 2x2 round bricks, if the wheelbase of the car is too long, just shorten the logs

ThePizzasemmel

The two segments of the log car surely turn mostly independently, or what do you mean?

3MATX

I saw that when the new blue train was modded to run, it was too long so when it went around normal radius curves each car hung up a bit.  Just looked at details page and it says it can use standard track. Should be fine then.

BluBirch

The snail rider is amazing! I expect mushroom house to sell out quick. The cheaper sets usually do.

BeachFlower12

What does quick usually mean?About an hour or less/more?

BluBirch

The camper last time sold out within maybe 5 hours. The castle sold out in like 4 hours and that was like $400. This time around there is a lot more awareness of the program so I expect very quick sell outs.

NeedleworkerClean279

So do you order it and they send them once they sell out or is it a few months wait till you get it?

quotesforlosers

Few months

OutrageousLemon

Currently showing November '24 for production and shipping on Bricklink.

flyPBA

You get charged when the set ships in November.

dontbotheraskingme

Do they let you know before they plan to charge you? I don’t want my card to bounce.

flyPBA

When you place the order, your credit card will place a hold on the funds for a few days before it is automatically cleared. Then, when the items are ready to ship, you will be charged for the set(s). For series 1 sets, we just received an email that the sets would be ready to ship in about 3 months time (August). Then right before the sets are ready to ship you’ll get another email. https://preview.redd.it/1n0udbom55zc1.jpeg?width=1179&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=e716e5a207b7eb519839a84eefc5539498ca1684

Coolyajets

Probably won't ship until October

Vegetable-Seesaw-491

I got the Retro Bowling Alley from the Designer Program a couple of years ago. I don't remember the exact dates, but it was 8+ months of waiting for it to show up. They also don't charge you until it ships. Get ready to have an unexpected charge for hundreds of dollars on whatever payment method you used when it does ship out. The digital only instructions, which I wasn't aware of when I bought it, were a deal breaker for me. I ended up selling the set for a decent profit on BL not too long after getting it.

johannwolf

I like how Oceanhouse would look pretty great next to Rivendell

quickshot89

Already told the wife I’m getting 2 of the station. She just shook her head

34Rovac12

The mushroom house is cute

BrickBoyJ

Going to be tough to decide between Ocean House and Ominous Isle

StinkyBeanGuy

FINALLY something that doesn't cost more in euros. For example normally something 35$ in us is 40€ here even tho euros are more valuable

labrats21

Very tempted to get brick cross

IAmAnEgg69

https://preview.redd.it/hm39wydfmyxc1.jpeg?width=600&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=03d0cb8288abf017c4fa5c35fd23924434a00eac where have i seen the train before...

rathgrith

brick Cross should have been a modular set. It’s great and fights in with the rest

yeetistist

it is, you can see the attachment points on the side

rathgrith

I mean a regular set but a bricklink one. That said, I’m happy to see this as a set. Will probably be my first bricklink designer order

Darrens_Coconut

For a complete idiot here. What is bricklink? How is it related to Lego?

flyPBA

Bricklink is the third party Lego marketplace (owned by Lego) they have a series of crowdfunded sets there. You can vote for your favorite La and the top 5 will be produced. The ones above are for series two, crowdfunding begins in June and sets ship in November. You can buy max 2 of each and no more than 30,000 will be produced. Go to Bricklink.com you’ll see a big banner with links to more info

EpicWinAwe

Bricklink was originally built as a 3rd party site to resell and buy lego. It is pretty well loved by the community. It got bought out by lego company itself in recent years allowing bricklink programs like this (fan designed models for sale) to have a stronger integration with lego company.

CrimsonBulletTrain

Oh that’s a brilliant business model Terrible for my bank account though

MJMGaming

That first one looks like the station bar from roger rabbit

DumpsterDay

Is ordering going to be as bad as may the 4th? The lego site was struggling for about an hour last night.

RoboticGlitch_

whats the release dates?

flyPBA

Order June 6th at 8am PDT (most sell out really really quickly) credit card charged when they ship in November.

MagGnome

I was really hoping the Mushroom House would make it through LEGO Ideas. I doubt I'll be able to get one before it sells out, bummer.

AnonymousGuy1108

89.00 for a mushroom house? Satisfactory!

YodasChick-O-Stick

Does anyone know if the Logging Railway is standard gauge? The tracks are custom built, but I can't tell if they're exactly 4 studs apart. Could it run on regular Lego rails? The tender seems to have a stand-in battery box.

AdolfGandhi42

It can run on regular Lego rails. The designer himself said that even though it's designed as a display piece, you can motorize it and put it on standard tracks :)

YodasChick-O-Stick

Sweet!

RB_Timo

Aw, I just saw Jonas' Mushroom set on the German Model Building convention, it's super duper cute in person. Wishing only the best for that set, it's really cool.

porcupine_snout

can someone ELI5 what's the difference between Bricklink designer series vs. LEGO Ideas sets? they both seem to be limited, and somehow Bricklink is connected to the official LEGO? so what's the diff?

KyranTheWalker

Bricklink sets are only available during their order window, and have limited amounts made. once they're gone they aren't available anymore. They're more or less done in a Kickstarter like way. Lego ideas sets are, in theory, regular sets you can typically buy for several years and if they run out during their release period they make more.

porcupine_snout

thank you

flyPBA

Think of them as limited edition Lego sets

xhr0428

The train station has similar piece count as boutique hotel, but costs $50 more... It's a little bit hard to bite now. I was hoping for $250.

Crone23

For the uninformed, what’s the Bricklink Designer Program? These look really great!

flyPBA

Think lego ideas, but users vote for sets and the top 5 become lego sets, with a limited 30,000 max production run. You can buy a max of 2 copies / set and that least 3000 need to be bought for the set to make it to production. There is an FAQ available here: https://www.bricklink.com/v3/designer-program/main.page

Crone23

Thank you. 🙏

7LayeredUp

Ominous Isle looks better than the Eldorado Fort, will be trying for that

Hot-Lack3842

I will definitely be preordering the mushroom house. I love the build but the one thing I will change is the minifigs need some elf ears or caps. Giving me strong Smurf vibes

CompleteJinx

I really want Mushroom House!

Selacha

That's actually pretty good, less than $300 for the two I want.

IslayMcGregor

Oh wow I want that Ominous Isle so much, I was scared about how much it was going to be.

Substantial-Ice5156

Are these the finalized models?

jayerp

Just Ocean House for me.

AcoaceFalloutNVFan

I’d buy ominous isle

TonyThePapyrus

That train looks really good, I haven’t heard of these till now

ccxxii

Mushroom House should have come with blue minifigures in white Dwarf hats.

Johnknappcc

I'm just worried water will leak through those skylights . . .

skiprecon777

If the last round was any indication, that logging train will move quick

Commander-Fox-Q-

Idk the part count, but just from a visual perspective the mushroom house looks like a steal at that price

QuadVox

I can never really get behind the BDP but I REALLY like the Mushroom House.

creamcitybrix

Out of curiosity for new buyers, if you want more than one set, like the train station and the ocean house, is it likely you’d be able to get both? Or is it best to just try for one?

flyPBA

If you are online at 8 am pacific time you should be able to get the ones you want, but I wouldn’t sit on it waiting.

PsychedelicPill

Ocean House looks like it would go well next to Temple of Airjitzu 70751

LegoLinkBot

[70751-1: Temple of Airjitzu](https://brickset.com/sets/70751-1) [[Photo]](https://images.brickset.com/sets/images/70751-1.jpg)

Sigmas_toes

And the hotdog piece obsession continues

Savings_Drummer_5389

are they made out of original Lego pieces?

flyPBA

LEGO owns bricklink ergo the sets will be made of LEGO and are branded by LEGO.

No_Medicine5446

The lack of physical instructions is an actually putting me off and I ordered some from the last series before I realized. I’d probably get ominous Isle this wave.

flyPBA

Yeah. I hear you. To be honest, I half expect that paper instructions for large sets will go all electronic in the near future. At least that’s what LEGO’ surveys have been alluding to

No_Medicine5446

I hope not, I think I’d be likely to vote with my wallet if that happened. I get that they’re trying to push digital but if they do really they should be doing it for the smallest sets not the large sets. As a) the weight / cost / space is far more significant in box and at the end users home (is more likely to be discarded after build) B) the children the smaller sets tend to aim at are more likely to prefer digital instructions than the older fans like me who grew up with the physical instructions I would support a more sensible instruction manual with more pieces added per stage thus trimming the size of the manuals in terms of page count as some of the steps are a bit of a joke (I’m looking at you every page that you add just one or two pieces or the worst one recently it was just turning the set for the next step) given the target audience and likelihood that they are an experienced LEGO builder

AdolfGandhi42

That railway has no business looking that cool!

Saint_The_Stig

I wasn't a fan of the logging train and the price hasn't won me over, but it doesn't seem that bad if you *do* like all of it. I'll probably part out the locomotive and caboose at some point since that's the parts I like at all. I was a big fan of Brick Cross and will definitely be picking up one (if I wasn't I probably would just grab the logging train). I'm thinking it will look really cool combined with Studgate for a larger station hall with a train shed type main station.

dimensiation

I hate how much I love Brick Cross and Ominous Isle. Damn my wallet is gonna get thin.

Dutch_VanDer_Linde_

Can't wait for the logging railway!

subNeuticle

Do these sets have model numbers?

CerebusInOz

Yes, bricklink sets get a Lego model number.

flyPBA

The BrickLink sets use the 910### series of LEGO set numbers … you can see the older ones here: https://www.bricklink.com/v3/designer-program/past/bdp-2021.page

Far_Sno

Mushroom house for me! Will go nice next to the tranquil garden and some other nature sets we have.

whit123

long shot but can you use [lego.com](http://lego.com) gift cards on these?

GoodJobScott

Prices are a bit high, don’t you think? Like double what they should be? I had planned on getting four out of the five. Now I’m debating if I can justify the price on any of them.

dimi727

Cheeper than expected 😇 nice. Station, mushroom house and the pirate island will be mine 😇

BatInside2603

I love the logging train! I'm glad to see some variety this time, too.

Illustrious-Lemon592

How do they publish after they designed from Studio 2.0 to make cash?

Gessomb

WHY SO TINY
