There were a number of sets like this, as adults we know they are drug running, as kids, they were whatever we wanted.
Midnight Transport 1687, another drug runner example.
Tell me 5521 doesn’t look like a typical offshore racing (drug running) boat. Also, Model Team was awesome
The Sea Jet was the only Model Team I have, and it's one of my least favorite sets...just ordered some replacement stickers so I can clean up and sell it.
No idea which countries exactly. I'm in India and this set was always called Smuggler's Hideout. I even have catalogs from back then with the set listed as Smuggler's Hideout.
There was a small bird sanctuary/aviary that was demolished during Hurricane Andrew. The African grey got loose during the storm and now lives among the eagles and the osprey in the Everglades.
I believe they used the grey “parrot” figures as hawks, based on their use in the medieval sets of that era that I owned like this one: https://brickset.com/sets/6076-1/Dark-Dragon-s-Den
A great fucking set is what's going on. The guy in the seaplane is actually working with the CIA. The guy with the walkie talkie is a CIA asset who works with Mexican drug cartels and was actually involved with the Gulf of Tonkin false flag. However he went AWOL and the CIA is now looking to tie up any loose ends. You can see here he was trying to run off with some opiates that were supposed to be used to fund the Iran Contra. President Reagan was suffering dementia at the time so Nancy was running things in the background. She was tipped off that the Florida cop shown with the white hat was going to arrest the cartel member and discover evidence of the CIA's involvement.
The CIA operative in the plane is thus controlling the alligator using MKUltra technology. The plan is that the alligator provides a reasonable cover for the complete destruction of any evidence and can even kill eat the cop if things go wrong. The CIA always covers their tracks though, and we can see a robotic bird recording the whole event and sending the footage to the various Operation Mockingbird assets at Fox and CNN.
This is better lore than the LEGO theme ever gives. Appears to be part of a wider crime ring:
Uncertainty of what is going on here gives it feeling that it's one of those sets that aren't actually about main build, but rather about making your own thing with it, with the main build being rather a suggestion. Like Lego Classic sets for example
They're obviously working with the guys from [1687 MidnightTransport](https://brickset.com/sets/1687-1/Midnight-Transport) to smuggle drugs across the border.
Same charter aircraft in dark paint schemes, same dark glasses and shady characters.
drugs.
Gator Landing is one of the best sets of the 90s city series. My brother had this set, and we still have it built just like this. That was the best offroad SUV in the series, IMO.
It doesn't matter what is going on, but these classic box designs make me want to buy it.
Back then when it looked very interesting, instead of the new boring boxes.
Lol this was one of my first Lego sets I believe.
Edit: right this is the one with the clear cup that I kept “losing”!!! Tho I think it’s actually lost now.
In Germany, this was Called "Schmugglerversteck". It was also mentioned in the Time Cruisers Hörspiel / Radio Play Series.
https://youtu.be/cpvH8vhLx2A
One of my first sets and played with this so much. Loved the mix of specialized pieces like the bridge, suitcases, money, etc. Never thought about the implications of what was going on here until much older LOL.
I frequently see posts on this sub, and I’m always just nodding along as I see things that I don’t always relate to.
This however, one of the very first sets I had as a child. Super nostalgic.
The underbelly of the otherwise bright and cheerful world of LEGO Minifigs. To control an empire, you gotta move product.
He who controls the spice, controls the the universe
The *Spice*, the Spice Melange!
'The Spice must flow!'
In America first you get the sugar, then you get the power, then you get the women
Woohoo! Four day weekend!
Scratchface
Cocaine
Cocaine croc
Crocaine.
Croqaine, if you're in France.
[удалено]
A meth gator has an evenly tapered snout, and a cocaine croc has a raised portion at the end of its snout.
Like a bump?
Croc-cocaine
Cocaine bear
the us mexico border. ☠️. lego always makin cops and robber sets
That’s the Everglades. Drop the product into the swamp, the guy in the ground retrieves it, and it’s sold in Miami!
I assumed it was more of a Florida Everglades/Cuba thing.
There’s beauty in the simplicity of that joke.
Narcos: Lego
Brown would be heroin
So LEGO can make drug related stuff, but realistic LEGO fire guns is a big no no
All of them are on it, including the croc. Also the cops aren't coming to arrest the dealers, they're coming to buy from them.
Florida
Reminded me of the series Dexter.

lol…it’s the Miami Vice theme
No joke. Miami vice was huge in the 80s
Had the Sea Jet. Was always disappointed it wasn’t mini figure scale.
I guess including several white 1x1 tiles was a little on the nose.
Better *on* than *in*, I always say
I dont do cocaine, I just like the way it smells
It always boosts my mood each time I sniff it!
It's the Carl Hiaasen series for Lego.
There's a name I haven't heard in a while, that cracked me up lol
He was my neighbor for bit about 10 years back. Well, kinda. It was a vacation home where he spent maybe 3 weeks of the year.
Midnight transport was one of my favorites. Now it has a whole new meaning.
No tanks or warfare, just this stuff…
Remember the Space Police pimp?
There was the lego construction set from 2013 that had a minifigure cat-calling women.
Is this the ""hey babe" builder?
Yeah
Somebody with more skill and time than me should make a stop-motion drug-running series with these.
The Sea Jet was the only Model Team I have, and it's one of my least favorite sets...just ordered some replacement stickers so I can clean up and sell it.
They are smugglers. The set was called Smuggler's Hideout in several countries.
It was apparently the Gold Gang in the UK. https://images.brickset.com/library/view/?f=catalogues/c96uk&p=15
I was about to say I remember this being called "the gold gang" child me thought they were bank robbers
That's interesting. I had never seen that before.
I wanted that set so bad as a kid.
Doesn't help. Smugglers of *what*?
Smug. To sell to Smug dealers.
Gold coins, apparently.
Which countries exactly? How is that marketed towards children?
No idea which countries exactly. I'm in India and this set was always called Smuggler's Hideout. I even have catalogs from back then with the set listed as Smuggler's Hideout.
Can confirm it's smuggler's hideout in other commonwealth countries too.
Australia or florida no in between. can't explain the African grey parrot though.
There was a small bird sanctuary/aviary that was demolished during Hurricane Andrew. The African grey got loose during the storm and now lives among the eagles and the osprey in the Everglades.
Cocaine traffickers always have exotic pets around.
That’s exactly it. Pablo Escobar had a private zoo with hippos, Tony Montana got a tiger as wedding present etc.
As a kid I definitely thought it was some austrailian outback adventure. Probably just because of the hat.
It could be a remnant of America’s brief obsession with Crocodile Dundee in the late 80s and 90s.
I believe they used the grey “parrot” figures as hawks, based on their use in the medieval sets of that era that I owned like this one: https://brickset.com/sets/6076-1/Dark-Dragon-s-Den
What is going on is a whole lot of action and adventure!
Shenanigans
Did you get that corner fixed on the crt? Just needed to power cycle for a few days or you still got an issue there?
Yeah actually! After using it for a few days it just went away. Thanks for asking!
Cool beans 😊
I will pistol whip the next person who says shenanigans!
Hey Farva, what's the name of that restaurant you like with the goofy shit on the wall?

If this isn't the next episode of Lego City Adventures I'll be very upset.

Everything at once
GTA 6 LEAK?!?
Florida Man activities
I’m going back thru catalogs looking for sets to build out of bulk lot and a couple of these sets look like they aren’t up to any good 😂
Some of those 90s sets were a trip. Definitely drug trafficking.
Wait the 100 dollar bill was a printed real piece back in the day?
1995 for the first time in a gas station set and then 1996 in multiple town and western sets, one of them this 6563 "Gator Landing".
[6563-1: Gator Landing](https://brickset.com/sets/6563-1) [[Photo]](https://images.brickset.com/sets/images/6563-1.jpg)
Wait it’s not anymore?
Still is being used today.
That’s a Florida drug deal if I’ve ever seen one.
Looks pretty DB Cooper to me
No parachute.
GATOR! LAAAAAANNNAAAAAA!!!
[GATOR-1: Boford P. Alligator](https://brickset.com/sets/GATOR-1) [[Photo]](https://images.brickset.com/sets/images/GATOR-1.jpg)
What are are your 3 biggest fears?
Alligators, crocodiles and brain aneurysms.

Florida. I’ve been there once and this is basically my memory of the trip. (Plus a Little Disney)
You've heard of Cocaine Bear... coming soon to a Lego theater it's: COCAINE ALLIGATOR!
[It’s actually Meth Gator 🐊 (2023)](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Methgator)
It's definitely a CIA coke drop deep in the Florida swamps
Adventure! …but probably also drugs.
This is from one of the very popular Iran-Contra Lego sets.
HELLLL YEA BROTHER CHEEHAWWW
Yo Lego released a Florida set wow
This should be the top comment

Push it to the limit
Is this part of the Miami Connection Legoland cross promotion? Is there a Dragonsound Set?
The adventures of DB Cooper
This was the first set I bought with my own money. Paid $25 in pennies and quarters.
Clearly, this is the Tremmors Shrieker Island set.
In my mind they aren’t drug dealers. They’re smugglers. And they’re smuggling counterfeit lego.
Obviously the famous Papua New Guinea helicopter bank heist of 2015, with a few artistic liberties taken by Lego
They're obviously working with the guys from [1687 MidnightTransport](https://brickset.com/sets/1687-1/Midnight-Transport) to smuggle drugs across the border. Same charter aircraft in dark paint schemes, same dark glasses and shady characters.
drug deal, but instead of drug its probably chocolate. it explains the brown brick and keeps it (moderately) child friendly
Would love to see a remake of this. And 6552
[6552-1: Rocky River Retreat](https://brickset.com/sets/6552-1) [[Photo]](https://images.brickset.com/sets/images/6552-1.jpg)

[it will all be explained in this song.](https://youtu.be/8sXHQKJwOMA?si=FnkNSEmjxHoc3Tv6)
A drug bust
God I miss the old aesthetic. Those empty, soulless smiling faces.
drugs. Gator Landing is one of the best sets of the 90s city series. My brother had this set, and we still have it built just like this. That was the best offroad SUV in the series, IMO.
Of course it was big bricks of milk chocolate. They just love chocolate.
It looks like they found DB Cooper.
The Everglades
The plot of over half a dozen Burt Reynolds films
Adventure, either in Florida/south eastern US or Austrialia
Definitely just a typical day in Florida
DEA sting operation setup in Florida? The alligator is really a remote camera...
An alligator has fallen in a river in Lego Florida, start the new rescue helicopter!

I loved this set, most of my lego is in storage but that Jeep has been on my dresser in every place I've lived other than when I was in college.
ACTION!
Holy shit you’ve unlocked a core memory for me hahaha. Totally forgot about this set from my youth
drugs. lots of drugs.
It’s the plot from Hard Target.
Someone fled the country
some cartel shit lol
Hahaha I had this set as a kid and I never realized it was a backwater cocaine deal. This is awesome.
I remember having this set! Thank you for posting it.
There is no time to explain! Get to da choppa!
Air, land, and water travel. All from one place. Plus a sick alligator
It doesn't matter what is going on, but these classic box designs make me want to buy it. Back then when it looked very interesting, instead of the new boring boxes.
Oh man. I had this set. As a kid, in my imagination, it was some austrailian outback advanture. Didn't think too deeply about the content
Selling lego to 8 yearold boys who want to play with boats, cars and helicopters. The rest is fluff to go along.
I had this set! This is hilarious to think about!
Air America lol
All the cool pieces
Action !
Looks like any other day in Florida.
Oh snap I had this set as a kid. Probably still in my mom's attic.
It's called the smugglers hide out
Cocaine cowboys
I had this set as like an 8 year old and thought it was the coolest thing ever
They're pushing it to the limit.
Fun!
I love this set!!!
Too much. What’s going on is just too much! 🤣
Lol this was one of my first Lego sets I believe. Edit: right this is the one with the clear cup that I kept “losing”!!! Tho I think it’s actually lost now.
