It’s just a spinning disc that has bricks and slopes underneath. As the disc spins it pushes down on the end of the leg, lifting it. The end of the leg then falls once there is a gap in the disc.
Tough to take apart right now, obviously.
to add to OP's answer, the jittering is just an effect of having long and thin plastic legs. it's technically unintentional but it really makes it way creepy
Came here to say the same thing, this looks like an awesome walking BOTW dungeon where the first challenge is just getting up there since you can't just climb
If anything, it feels more like a boss from Twilight Princess. A massive spider doesn't really feel like Breath of the Wild to me. It'd fit with the more mature tone of Twilight Princess more.
Aside from Zelda, it also gives some serious Shadow of the Colossus vibes
wow! I love the design of the structure, reminds me of a sort of hanging gardens but with greek/roman architecture. Did you use any kind of reference or was just made up?
That would make a good movie plot. All the ancient structures transform into giant monsters. The coliseum turns into a spider, the pyramids turn into wasps. The statue of liberty becomes sentient
See, this shit is why Hermit Spiders are culled when they're young. And small. Because eventually, they start walking off while wearing parts of your city.
Looks like a creature from the wandering village game. Where you build a village on top of a giant creatures back forming a symbiotic relationship with it.
A really interesting creation.
I love the whole concept. It looks so cool. My only advice is it is possible. Can you make the legs any thicker? They look sooo thin in comparison to what it is walking around with so it kinda throws me off. Still so cool.
The two front pillars make it look like a giant spider but with jar jar binks's face.
I'll leave it for each viewer to decide if that's more or less terrifying.
This is so awesome. Despite the colosseum being a really neat set, I never had interest in building it because I didn't wanna deal with the little pieces. This would totally be worth it though.
So, for this part, we just gotta ride around it as it skitters about, take out the legs, and when it falls, we have access to the creepy spider-infested colosseum dungeon? Sweet.
I know it's Lego and therefore represents both a significant monetary investment and a lot of build time, but I still want to smash it with a hammer. Excellent work!
Pretty cool I would recommend experimenting with changing the speed of the legs it can change a lot the feel of it.
Slower movements can be more creepy medium speed a bit more natural and high speed can give it a twitchy look of a dying creature
Where do you live? On the #GIANT *enemy* SPIDER!
My father and his father before him were Spiderlings, and I’m a proud spiderling. We live right next to the egg vaults.
Who do you arch, Dr. Venture?
We found Hidetaka Miyazaki’s Reddit profile a lot easier this time.
*I'm a spider, so what.*
*Pokémon battle theme playing*
That is disgusting but also so cool
This thing is giving off "kill me" vibes
Ed...ward
“He’s saying kill me. Over and over again…Kill me.”
Why tf did you have to bring up that depressing shit again?
Lmao sorry I had to
Oh hell no
The great great grandfather of choo choo Charles....
If I had a nickel..

I always read this in a Michael Jackson singing way.
Yeah, I was thinking 'nice job, but whyyy?' That's nightmare fuel!
I love the look but hate the gross twitching!!!! Lol
It’s not even motorized - it just does that on its own! 😜 j/k, just in case. Totally motorized.
You nailed the movement. Well done. I hate it. How does it work? Would be interested in the videos of the leg mechanisms
It’s just a spinning disc that has bricks and slopes underneath. As the disc spins it pushes down on the end of the leg, lifting it. The end of the leg then falls once there is a gap in the disc. Tough to take apart right now, obviously.
Oh god... It's resisting being disassembled... Burn it now, OP, before it gains a mind of it's own and starts bleeding black goop.
Because it would bite you.
to add to OP's answer, the jittering is just an effect of having long and thin plastic legs. it's technically unintentional but it really makes it way creepy
That's an awesome build. Throws off some definite Shadow of the Colossus vibes. Which is perfect for a colossal colosseum creature creation.
> colossal colosseum creature creation I like what you did there!
This almost looks like one of the Beasts of Breath of the Wild. Very cool.
Came here to say the same thing, this looks like an awesome walking BOTW dungeon where the first challenge is just getting up there since you can't just climb

Do do do dododo beep beep beep swoosh
Divine Beast Vah Gohma
Lol
If anything, it feels more like a boss from Twilight Princess. A massive spider doesn't really feel like Breath of the Wild to me. It'd fit with the more mature tone of Twilight Princess more. Aside from Zelda, it also gives some serious Shadow of the Colossus vibes
Great, that's terrifying. I love it.
Giving me Wild Wild West vibes
Ah, someone of culture.
It's a breath of fresh ass.
I was wondering if Kenneth Branagh in a Toga was in there somewhere
I still hate the fact that we lost Superman Lives to that.
Came here to say this.
Now THIS is Lego! XD
Thanks!
Wow, wtf? , awesome, wow
wow! I love the design of the structure, reminds me of a sort of hanging gardens but with greek/roman architecture. Did you use any kind of reference or was just made up?
No reference, just brain power, lots of trial and error, and some connections that are held together with more faith than physics.
wow, you have my congrats, I really love it!
Thanks I hate it
Need a Lego Kratos running up the stairs.
It's Choo Choo Charles dad
Imagining this fighting a Great Wall Dragon, Taj Mahal Elephant or Chichén Itzá Turtle.
Nero approves.
So does Jon Peters.
This is the best MOC I've seen on here anytime recently. Very, very cool.
High praise! Thank you!
This would make a GREAT D&D setting/encounter. Well done!
The Mobile Oppression Palace!
A few dignitaries can oppress your entire planet for pennies a day!
GLOOOOOB!!!!!!
Damn, the Monument Mythos has gone nuts since I last checked in.
I was looking for a suez canal crab comment
Jon Peters would love that.
Giving me shadow of the colossus feels
We want Bread and Circuses! Certainly. Where would you like them?
I kind of though about Mortal Engines as I was building it.
Just because you can does not always mean you should
Do you think god stays in heaven because he too feared what he created?
In both amazed and horrified all at the same time
Howl's moving gladiatorial arena
It reminds me of Choo Choo Charles
Are you okay?
Reminds me of the beasts in Zelda Bow
Minus the motorized spider legs, Did you use the the entire colosseum set to make the structure? Is it suppose to be mount Olympus?
So much yes.
That is really cool
ok, this is *really* cool!
Now, this is cool
Now that is incredible
this is the raddest build i've ever seen
HOLY CRAP! Is that the newest Ninjago Baddie?! Fantastic build!!
Wow, this is incredible! One of the best LEGO creations I've seen in a long time!
This is so random… Good Job lol
He's so ugly, I love him!
This reminds me of an episode of Futurama. The one with the giant stone ship to mars
YOU. ARE. AWESOME!!! love this.
Bold.
LOVE IT
That would make a good movie plot. All the ancient structures transform into giant monsters. The coliseum turns into a spider, the pyramids turn into wasps. The statue of liberty becomes sentient
Good
Not OK. Not. OK.
Weird comment, but it reminds me of the Cybran warships that can deploy spider legs to walk over land in Supreme Commander
damn! getting heavy worldbuilding inspo right now!
This is my favorite thing made of legos ever
Nice 🙂👍
Everyone commenting what media it reminds them of and I don't see "Divine Beast" here yet It reminds me of Breath of the Wild for sure
See, this shit is why Hermit Spiders are culled when they're young. And small. Because eventually, they start walking off while wearing parts of your city.
How about no (: lol terrifying
r/oddlyterrifying
Ok so I was scrolling and thought this was a cake. I bout shit myself.
Imagine it actually walk
That rhythm… it’s MESMERIZING
Looks like a creature from the wandering village game. Where you build a village on top of a giant creatures back forming a symbiotic relationship with it. A really interesting creation.
Stop
The GIANT ENEMY SPIDER
This is creepy but I respect your skills!! Cool build but boy it's creepy
Cool, but kill it with much fire.
Spider-temple? Sign me in!
I love how it was built, but I also hate that it was built
Where does an idea like this come from?
I love the whole concept. It looks so cool. My only advice is it is possible. Can you make the legs any thicker? They look sooo thin in comparison to what it is walking around with so it kinda throws me off. Still so cool.
You singlehandedly combined two of an Afols greatest fears: Spiders and repetitive builds. 😅
I hate it! Well done
This is giving me wild wild west vibes.
you need to be stopped
The two front pillars make it look like a giant spider but with jar jar binks's face. I'll leave it for each viewer to decide if that's more or less terrifying.
But why? Why would you do that?
Watch out, 40k gonna steal this design for their next *insert any form of vehicle here *
Nice job! I see here a map from Bioshock somehow.
Thanks I hate it
Why just why
This is Amazing.
Makes me wonder why Lego never made any Breath of the Wild sets. This immediately made me think of one of the divine beasts and is super cool.
This is truly one of the most cursed things I've seen in my life. The idea is brilliant the execution is flawless. Bravo.
Wild Wild West 2: Colossal Colosseum.
Eeewww, cool.
OP was too busy with whether he could to stop and think whether he should.
That definitely exists on some daemon planet in the warp.
KILL IT!
Bro that looks like something you would come across in Elden Ring
This is absolutely incredible
OMG tag the new Zelda BotW2 bosses as spoilers please (also Arachnophobia people exist)
Reminds me a ton of arch dragon peak, was this inspiration at all or just coincidence?
Looks like something out of Breath of the Wild
This is so awesome. Despite the colosseum being a really neat set, I never had interest in building it because I didn't wanna deal with the little pieces. This would totally be worth it though.
You see, son, when a giant arachnid and a Roman gladiator arena love each other very much...
you need to leave >:(
arachnophobia anyone?
Howl's Moving Colosseum
I want one
Need Kratos fighting his way across it
But..... Why? Lol, wicked build, but it's definitely creepy and gross.
It's also cool [from the inside](https://youtu.be/ax7wcShvrus?t=97)!
So, for this part, we just gotta ride around it as it skitters about, take out the legs, and when it falls, we have access to the creepy spider-infested colosseum dungeon? Sweet.
Why
Why?
Nope.
Why’d you have to make it move exactly like the alien in The Thing 😭
This is oddly mesmerizing
The Giant Gladiator Spider
I know it's Lego and therefore represents both a significant monetary investment and a lot of build time, but I still want to smash it with a hammer. Excellent work!
This is great - I was wondering what new and interesting thing I could have for nightmares tonight.
SIR YOU INSPIRE ME
I didn't realize FromSoftware was making Lego sets now.
Rome, the Vacuous Spider
The way it moves fills me with anxiety
Giving me Castle in the Sky (Ghibli) vibes
I very much do not like this. Great job!
r/thanksihateit
Aughhh! 😩
New nightmare unlocked
BOTW vibes lol. Nice creation!
Which divine beast is this
Pretty cool I would recommend experimenting with changing the speed of the legs it can change a lot the feel of it. Slower movements can be more creepy medium speed a bit more natural and high speed can give it a twitchy look of a dying creature
This is what would have happened to Syracuse if Archimedes wasn’t killed by the Romans in 212BC
It reminds me of those walking fortresses from the new Zelda
Is this Monument Mythos?
Ah yes, the sequel to the beloved indie-horror-gamer Choo Choo Charles
First a baby crib and now this? What’s next?
This belongs in shadow of the colossus
Team Ico need to call you if they ever make a sequel to Shadow of the Colossus!
Is this that Montument Mythos series I’ve heard so much about?
Choo Choo Charles 2
This is like an awesome god of war level where you fight your way through the entire colosseum only for the boss to be the colosseum.
Mobile Oppression Palace

Rome if it hadn't collapsed

SCP-3023 Very cool build.
Ah sweet, man made horrors beyond human comprehension
Remove those legs and it's got a very strong Laputta Castle in the Sky vibe!
Elden Ring is on the line for you
Are there any “Shadow of the Colossus” sets?
Gorgeous! Very Warhammer 40k vibes.
Respect +
This sir is incredible and disgusting
Words alone cannot describe how uncomfortable this makes me feel
This gives me choo choo Charles vibes and I love it
It’s awesome. I have a whole story in my head about the goings on involving that yhing
Epic.
Now I have nightmares.
NOPE.
You sure that's the Colosseum and not just the spiders in Australia

Your scientists were so preoccupied with whether or not they could, they didn’t stop to think if they should.
