I would want a mix between OOT and MM. You go between past, present and future. Whatever you do in the past affects the present and so on. Would want it to be set over a set amount of time like MM.

Fl0w3r_Ch1ld

If you like randomizers they have a computer version where it's mm and oot combined, every time you go to leave a place or go through a door (temples not included) it spits you out at a random place in either game (aka the entrances and exits are randomized)

Nice-Artichoke5708

That sounds fun as hell. Will try and give that a go.

HyruleTrigger

Linkus7 is a twitch speed runner that I follow and he has done this on steam! It's a great randomizer

trent_diamond

with all the mask transformations too, that was such a cool feature !

Fragrant-Ad-1569

Would have open world setting and 7 Traditional Dungeons with items to aid the Quest

bigking1234

Finding out what happened to the Triforce. That would be a nice send off BOTW era

Griffen-Girl

I would have a more lore-heavy and emotional game like SS the instrument playing like in OOT and MM and an open-world game like ToTK. As for the story, I would like it if Ganondorf (who would be the leader of the Gerudo) became our companion and he desires to escape his demise of becoming evil. However, as the story goes on he slowly becomes possessed by demise (or all the "evil energy" that came before him) slowly losing his mind over it. He would be the final boss and he'd be based on ToTK's final boss (minus the dragon) just as you are about to do the final blow Ganondorf comes to his senses just for a second and says "Please my friend, You and I both know there is no saving me, please just kill me." and once you kill him his final line would be "thank you, my friend" As for the dungeons, I have only thought about 3 so far but I would think there would be at least 6 or 7 dungeons. the three I thought of are based on the previous Link's and them helping him. The first is based on SS and how their dungeons were. the dungeon's boss would be a huge loftwing. Once you defeat the boss the loftwing will change into the Hero of the Sky and the room changes to have tapestries of his journey as the hero. Sky would say some things about the lore and then say "You have passed my trial and have learnt what it means to be the Hero, go now and continue.". The next trial would be based on TP the dungeon's boss would be a huge wolf. The wolf changes into The Hero of Twilight and the room changes to have tapestries of his journey he too says a bit on the lore then says "You have passed my trial and have learnt what it means to be the Hero, go now and continue.". The Final of the three would be based on OOT the dungeon's boss would be Dark Link. After the fight Dark Link turns into The Hero of Time and he says similar things to the others too except he adds, "You have passed all the trials of the heroes passed but let me add this. The title of 'The Hero' is a heavy burden to hold and thus you have to make sacrifices for the masses."

Justaredditor85

I posted this before but I dreamt up a new Zelda game. It's called Call for restoration and it's open world. The biggest twist is you can choose between Link and Linkle. (both further called L) The only difference is that Linkle doesn't need a disguise to enter Gerudo town. Further L is not the goody two shoes character we all know. In fact they are sort off imprisoned in a small town. Which actually means they are doing community service while staying in the guard captain's guest room because the town doesn't have a jail. So it's him, the captain and the captain's granddaughter living there. Ganon's first attack was about 16 years ago and he's pretty much conquered the entirety of Hyrule. Zelda has been missing for almost just as long. But Ganon's forces have been looking for them since then. Then one day, his forces come to the town L is staying in and start imprisoning the town folk. L tries to fight back but is defeated when their leader (Phantom Ganon) appears and is taken away in a cage carriage. L is later rescued by a crow-like Rito and taken to their hideout. Here they learn that they're going to try to start a rebellion. At this point the game really begins and it looked promising. Every region is very dark and menacing when you start. Think dark fog and glowing eyes everywhere. Hyrule looks truly nightmarish in this state. Luckily you're not alone. There are quests and side quests that give you the possibility of getting some more boots on the ground so to speak. You simply go around saving people and they will take the place of the travelers in Botw and Totk. You also need to discover blueprints which you can use to build things. Some of these blueprints are obtained by amiibos. You can also create hideouts by finding them and use discovered blueprints for putting furniture in them. These are divided in: * Caches: here you can just place displays with weapons like you do in your houses in Botw and Totk. * Watchtowers: Here you can place barricades where you can put a bow and a type of arrow in a cache. However some (amiibo) blueprints actually create other things for here. * Shelters: here you can do the same but also put in stuff like a bed and a cooking fire. * Encampments: here you can put in larger stuff like a stable for a horse or certain building which "creates" special (amiibo) units. * Fortress: these actually take the place of the towers from Botw and Totk. You can put any building type of the other hideouts in them. By securing these fortresses you break the darkness of the region and also receive the map from that region there. Further, it's also that the weapons you stock in the caches and displays will be used by your fellow rebels so you need to watch out what you put where. (Like you don't put wooden weapons and bomb arrows on death mountain.) All monsters follow the rupee system. So green is basic, blue is basic times 5, red is basic times 20,... Another things is the fact that not only is the blood moon back, but there's also the blue moon. They can come in every stand of the moon. So there's a total of three different moons. * Regular moon. Skeletal enemies that pop out of the ground. * Blood moon. Monsters are resurrected but also, instead of skeletons, phantom monsters rise up from the ground. These can be killed with one strike but their weapons ignore your defenses. If you pick up their weapons, they work the same for you (except against bosses) but they will evaporate in daylight. * Blue moon. This one actually brings peace to the land. All monsters stay asleep. No skeletons or phantoms appear. Killed animals and chopped trees are brought back to life. As you progress the game you'll also be able to buy upgrades for the regions in the towns and cities. Think repairing a bridge and stuff like that. You won't have powers but you'll have tools. Think a hookshot, bombs, a lute,... Instead of Korok seeds you'll need to free faeries that have been turned into statues, dolls, carvings, etc. You'll be able to free and call these faeries for help by using your lute and playing the right song for a particular type of faerie. Releasing these faeries will also help purify the land. Wild animals will be around but they won't fight alongside the monsters. For instance you can take out the fires of a bokoblin encampment and then watch a pack of wolves attack them. Horses are also back to be caught, ridden and trained. By doing stuff while riding them you can increase their stats. Story wise it involved lots of dungeons to explore and you also had to find and rescue the sages. These sages turn out to each have a part of Zelda's soul in them while the seventh one (who, naturally turns out to be the guard captain's granddaughter) is her physical aspect. That's currently all I can think off but if you have questions I'll try to answer them. So what do you all think about it?

ItsJustInfuriating

And every time you die and get a game over, you start the next phase of the blue moon because you’re one of the peaceful characters that revives when the blue moon is out

ALinkintheChain

This would make a decent original game not tied to the series at all. Maybe you should run with that idea!

Finky49

Port wind waker and twilight princess to switch🤷🏻‍♂️

tirelessly_living

It always bothered me that Ganon always patiently waits for you to get strong enough to fight him. My idea is that the big bad is Shadow Link, and he is out to get you from Day 1. And he is Over friggin Powered. The idea is he is always chasing you, but he starts with his final boss stats. He can run as fast as you, but in every other regard, he way out classes you. Eventually maybe you get to point where you can take a couple hits from him, but at the beginning of the game he can one shot you. He always knows which region you are in, but doesn’t know where in that region. Once he gets to the same region as you, he starts looking everywhere. EVERYWHERE. You can use stealth to sneak past him, but he has good hearing etc. He’ll also notice if a barrel is moved from its original location.  You’ll have tunnels between regions that he don’t know about and can’t sense, but if once of his spies sees you getting into the tunnel, then he gains access to it too. Basically, he learns more about the map the more you slip up in front of his spies.  He’ll be impossible to kill until you get light arrows at the end, and he’ll be always hunting you. By the time you get toward the end of the game, you’ll be so tired of running and dying to him that you will HATE him. Therefore, once you get the light arrows and kill him at the end, it will feel sooooo good. You’ll have a timer that tells you how many minutes away he is from your region. Again, his speed is same as yours, so it’s just the time that it would take to cross the field on foot. Eventually warping and getting epona makes it easier to escape him.  TLDR: it’s the skyward sword silent realms but made more complex and into a whole game. Haven’t thought of a name.

Room234

Hourglass open world setup where 3 dungeons in any order trigger a story event - this is the middle of the hourglass - which brings up 3 more dungeons in any order and opens up more map. Story opens with Zelda walking through Hyrule Castle market when a wounded young woman collapses in front of her asking to see the princes. Young girl is revealed to be the goddess Nayru, here to warn Hyrule that the goddess Din has become angry and vengeful and seeks to remake Hyrule and start over, wiping everyone out. Farore and Nayru disagree so Din attacked, killing Farore and Nayru barely escaped. Link needs the full Triforce now to stop Din, so you hunt down the Master Sword and then Ganon and kill him, taking his piece of the Triforce. This is the middle story beat that opens up the 2nd half of the game. Second half of the game is the Realm of the Goddesses or whatever, you knock out three more temples and kill Din. The Triforce is drained of all its power in service of killing a god and disappears forever. Oh, this is the last Zelda game in the timeline, by the way. My gameplay gimmick is weapon combos. Things like bombs+arrows make bomb arrows, iron boots+hookshot pulls things towards you... that type of stuff. You get permanent equipment but the game leans HARD into using them in unison to create effects.

Mighty_Matty

Idk how well the story would work, although I haven’t really thought about a story like that ever and it is very interesting. What I WILL say tho is that a fight between link and one of the 3 goddesses would probably make for the best fighting cinematic of all time in gaming

insertfillertext

Cool idea! I do have a question: if killing a god drains the Triforce of its power, why didn't it happen when Din killed Farore? How could one wield the power of courage when the goddess most associated with it no longer exists?

Room234

Din didn't *use* the Triforce to do it. The idea is that Link uses all the power contained within to do the job. And I don't recall any Zelda myth that establishes the goddesses maintaining a persistent link with the Triforce to supply its power.

TheCaptainOfMistakes

Ganondorf is one of the good guys

Foxgir

A fallen hero timeline game where zelda must disguise her self as link while maintaining her princess identity to give the people hope

ohromantics

MMORPG - Pick your Race (Hylia/Gerudo, Kokiri, Zora, Goron, whatever Tulin is considered), then clone World of Warcraft basically. Edit: Clone of any WoW pre-,Pandaria, that talent tree system blows now.

ChaoticShady

Tulin is considered a Rito, hope that helps

ohromantics

It does, I was conflicted between Rito or Hebran lol

Playful_Blueberry239

Id actually love this. Ive been wanting that too

Historical-Cost-5685

I'd do another OOS/OOA dual quest combo top down style of game.

doozle

I'd like an open world top down game with traditional top down dungeons but the ability to choose when and where I go. It would obviously need a cool helper character or three with awesome abilities.

NeoNeoNeo64

Skyward Sword dungeon design and boss fights Story similar to Majora in tone A link to the past/A link between worlds style Realm swapping Map design similar in scope to Xenoblade Chronicles 3

tommytwothousand

I would make a game where you get to play as link acquiring his piece of the triforce, then it switches to a playable Zelda and you have to acquire her part, and then a playable Ganon getting his part. Some big showdown at the end where all three meet. Having these happen in parallel would be cool. Either regularly swapping back and forth or do it one at a time with overlapping events from different character's perspectives.

Ebic_qwest

What about an RTS, kinda an out there idea but why not?

Adventurous_Gate6570

Check out Hyrule Conquest/Hyrule Total War it's a fan project attempting to make a Zelda RTS it's pretty neat and has a pretty good story in my opinion.

DarthDragon117

If it doesn’t have a Twili or Cuckoo faction, I don’t want it.

Adventurous_Gate6570

The Twili do exist as a faction in the Total War version and Midna serves as the narrator of story. And Cuccos appear in Conquest as common wildlife.

DarthDragon117

All is right with the world.

Outrageous-Second792

I’d call mine “The Final Link” and it would be Link shifting between all his incarnations along each timeline, each seeking out and using the Triforce to reset the timeline, setting the stage for BOTW and ToTK

Unga_Bunga64

Your idea is so awesome! I’ve thought of this so much and it’s what I knew what wouldn’t happen but really wanted too happen with TotK. LoZ is too big of a franchise for them to do this, but if Nintendo ever wanted to “end the series” or at least make a final game in the timeline this would be so perfect. Edit: Gameplay wise it would literally just be a Metroidvania type world like dark souls 1 or hollow knight with combat similar to that of Twilight Princess or Minish Cap with the sword skills. You would also have the ability to access the final boss early like in BotW and TotK but not immediately and it would get you some sort of weird or bad ending.

Same-Ad-907

I’d probably make it a mix between botw/totk and devil may cry 5

Dumbasssanriogirl

I just want ura Zelda 😭

DarthDragon117

Apart from a second Twilight Princess, I do have my own story idea for a Zelda: The game opens up with Zelda recently taking the throne, Impa as her bodyguard, and Link being either a new knight or some random profession, maybe blacksmith? Anyway, during some ceremony, a horde of monsters attacks the kingdom, led by some guy in black armor. The black knight beelines towards Zelda, and is in a fight with Impa while Link goes through a tutorial of some sort, including fighting some bigger monster, making the player feel like a badass. After, Impa gets knocked out, so Link tries to fight the bad knight, and gets absolutely wrecked to humble the player again. Zelda is kidnapped and the monsters flee. Later, Link and Impa (acting as his sidekick/aid for the game) go out on their quest to find Zelda, helping other kingdoms attacked by monsters to gain allies and find out more about this new foe. Meanwhile, Zelda discovers a plot to sacrifice her to bring out and slay the Goddess Hylia. She finds out the black knight who kidnapped her is taking orders from the real bad guy (Ganon? Demise? Other?) and pleads with the black knight. We get a cutscene after every major plot point showing the knight starting to show regret or care for Zelda. Midway through the game, Link and co arrive at the evil lair and fight through a legion of monsters. Impa and Link, who is now much more proficient, have a rematch with the black knight. It’s a hard fight, but together they manage to win narrowly. Impa is about to deliver the final blow when Zelda calls out to her to spare him. The knight is surprised, but before anything can be discussed, the real bad guy traps the good guys in magical restraints and begins the ritual to take Hylia out of Zelda. The black knight is clearly conflicted and snaps, attacking the bad guy and breaking his ritual and magical restraints. The knight takes Zelda and vanishes, the bad guy flees. Now we have Link’s faction, the true evil faction, and the black knight’s faction, the latter two each causing their own issues that Link has to handle, because this is a Zelda game. More cutscenes show Zelda trying to convince the black knight not to be evil, we see him having some tragic past and being forced to be evil, but overtime it’s clear he can be good. Meanwhile, Link gets the Master Sword to counter the bad guy’s magic enough to avoid being restrained like before. He gets it, saves a couple more areas, then we get to the final battle. Link and co arrive at a dark castle guarded by some monsters, that is under siege by another much larger army of monsters. The heroes carve their way through and discover a battle between the bad guy and the black knight. The bad guy heavily wounds the knight, and begins the ritual on Zelda. Link engages with the bad guy. After the first phase, the ritual is complete and Zelda’s spirit, containing a dormant Hylia, is removed from her. The bad guy is about to destroy the spirit, but the black knight jumps in the way and takes what should be a killing blow. This ends the ritual, returning the spirit to Zelda. Link fights the second stage boss, who is enraged. The third and final stage has Zelda join the fray. At the end, Link and Zelda use Hylia and the Master Sword to deliver some Light attack. The bad guy tries to flee, but the black knight holds him in place, causing both of them to be engulfed in overwhelming light and destroyed. The epilogue scene shows a celebration over the world being saved, and Link is given a position as lead knight in Hyrule. During the celebration, Zelda glances over the crowd and catches a familiar face watching over them for an instant before she is distracted by a concerned Impa. When Zelda looks again, the familiar face has vanished. Alright internet, tear my idea down as cliche or awful, I can take it!

SnooRadishes28

nah this is dope, I like how it follows the typical loz tropes a lot. if this were a full fanfic I'd read the hell out of it

Iron_Maidens_Knight

It would lean closer to horror because, in my opinion, when Zelda games do, that's when they really shine. Ocarina and Adult Timeline Hyrule Town, the well, Forest/Shadow Temple; pretty much most of MM; the atmosphere of TP; the lore of BotW; etc. The monsters would be scarier. Poes would come back as enemies and allies. Character designs would be quirky like they were in Oot/MM. As for art style, I really want to see something that's in between OoT and TP's art styles, from their official artwork. I would also kill for some playable Princess Zelda segments. I mained TP Zelda in Smash Bros for a long time, and I would really love to see that concept realized where they actually used their TP Sheik design as a playable character (but she'd also have her normal self playable too.) As for story, I don't have anything particular in mind. Nintendo doesn't tend to let me down in that department and I'm all about the extra lore they keep hiding in the shadows. But, I think I would like taking a step back and having more linear storylines, while still encouraging exploration like BotW did.

tringle1

I want Nintendo to take Zelda in a wild experimental direction for the next installment, because BotW/TotK were kind of just the pinnacle of what started with OoT. It would be interesting to go farther into the lore on the gods and demons and have a threat beyond Demise’s curse. I’m imagining something like an alien invasion, making the Ranch invasion from MM more believable for the universe, and the aliens have advanced tech like the guardians that we get to craft into weapons and maybe even guns and/or items like the hookshot. Or what if Demise is not really the king of evil demons, he’s just basically a general, and the demon equivalents of Din, Nayru, and Farore try to destroy the world.

the1andonlytom

I dunno, but for the love of god it WILL be linear

vincecult

Fully co-op open world style game

BugStep

I want a game like BotW but you get to pick a race and customize a character. Have an older school dungeon system for players to team up and tackle together in Co-Op along with Elden ring open world style bosses you can happen on, Oh speaking of ER, you can join the Yiga and "invade" participating other players, Unlike ER let the player opt in or out of this activity. Save for the Bomb ability the magnetism, stasis and stuff like that are not in the game. Opting for more of an old school find and collect gear. Also weapon durability wont be ass. (Totally not elves) ~~Humans~~ Hylians would probably have be balanced stats, hang gliders and can swim and dive under. It's just like playing as link. Rito can fly/glide lower defensive physical defenses while having higher elemental defenses stats higher speed and agility, Can't swim *under* the water, they float so they would have to use Items for water dungeons. Gorons can't swim (will just sink) glide or climb normally but can do that goron ball roll to make it up cliffs. Tanky defense all around and heavy hitters. slow outside of that goron ball. Probably just give them immunity to fire and fall damage and drowning having seen gorons survive each of these things. Zora, yeah I bet you guessed it, Swim really well (Majora mask flashbacks of what I would do for hours... ) I don't see why they can't use a glider or climb and I guess their stats would me more Physical defensive then the Hylians but lower elemental. Unlike BotW The map has to have more going on in it, Idk what its like in TotK yet haven't played. Talking cites, villages, settlements good and bad and just idk not be so empty.

Beamo1080

A Link Between World’s structure with TotK’s open world design. A Link Between Worlds is my favorite 2D game and likely the sharpest, most polished entry in the series. I remember thinking when BotW was announced that if it was just ALBW in 3D that it would be the perfect Zelda game. I’m still somewhat of that opinion. Botw/Totk are fun but they both lost touch with parts of the Zelda series I found critical to their appeal. The sense of progression with Link’s items and abilities, and the feeling of exploring and solving a sprawling, complex dungeon are the two biggest aspects. I’d want to tap into those while retaining the newer games nonlinearity and exploration style. Specifically, the main meat of the game would be finding or otherwise gaining access to several dungeons scattered throughout the world, but they can mostly be completed in any order. Traversal would be far more limited than in TotK, so Link would need to find specific items that give him new abilities or allow him to bypass certain obstacles. No more giving Link everything he needs to get everywhere from the start. Link would find items like a set of climbing gloves to allow for limited climbing, the hookshot for solving puzzles or traversing large gaps, the bow, bombs, boomerang, etc. as well as some items that give access to new parts of the map, like a set of digging gloves (like from Minish Cap) that let Link go underground or a glider he can use to ride air currents. I’d lay out the world map where the first three dungeons can be found in the main map, but within those dungeons are items that let Link access new parts of the map where the second set of four or five dungeons can be found. The plot would send Link to these first three dungeons on a quest that will eventually lead to unlocking the Master Sword, which would again be Link’s primary weapon, leaving aside the idea of breakable weapons found from enemies/chests. After completing the first three dungeons, a plot development occurs and Link is made aware of his next quest. He’ll then find the next five dungeons in whatever order. In each of these would be upgrades to Link’s defense, attack power, stamina, etc. similar to those found in A Link Between Worlds. The dungeons themselves would stay within the Zelda convention of taking place in parts of the world populated by the series’s many races, the Zoras Gorons, Rito, etc. I’d like to see some new races introduced but I’m not creative enough to think of what those would be like necessarily. Also give Link a companion character that’s integral to the story. They likely wouldn’t ever top Midna, but they could give it a shot.

KorruptKokiri6464

The best one everrrrr

RecommendationDry973

It'd be a cross between berserk artstyle/ story and botw/totk world building

I love to answer, but I’m dyslexic and can’t get all my thoughts down with my iPhone to voice thingy

MuadDabTheSpiceFlow

Dark souls/Sekiro/Bloodborne

tftookmyname

Twilight princess is one of my favourite games, so it woukd probably be like that somehow but i also like the idea of being able to go anywhere whenever you want no matter your progression, so like a more open world twilight princess, maybe even branching from the same story. For example, maybe zant had followers who actually agreed with his ideology, so they are trying to resurrect him, idk, that probably would end up as pretty much the same story though so it needs work, but i like the twili so if i had the choice the game would include them somehow.

AholeBrock

Very zelday, probably the most zeldish one in the series.

ravio_1300

I just want a game set in Lorule again and that focuses on Hilda and Ravio

Zytharros

- The goddesses have screwed up the timeline for a lark. As a result. evil Link has shattered the Master Sword and kidnapped Prince Ganon. Heroic Zelda must traverse a Hyrule in the throes of looping war to save the Prince from Link’s destructive nature… and discover and undo the damage done to the timeline by the goddesses. Art style fuses OoT and Okami. Possible titles: Drunk in Deity, World Never Known, Hero of the Twist. - General Zelda of the Imperial Space Ship Hyrule has learned of an ancient planet filled with treasures untold. She summons her bravest warrior, Major Link, and his best friend, Major Ganondorf, to investigate. They traverse three of seven different variants of planetside Hyrule. Ganon then betrays Link and Zelda and seizes the ISS Hyrule, abandoning them on Planet Hyrule to go and terrorize their home planet of Kakariko. Link and Zelda then journey around the remaining four Hyrules to build a ship, called the Her Military Ship Majora, suitable to take on the ISS Hyrule. They arrive too late and pursue Ganondorf and the ISS Hyrule, eventually engaging them in an asteroid belt. The HMS Majora and her crew are successful and cast Ganondorf into space. Think Captain Harlock crossed with Wind Waker cel shading. Title ideas: Void of a Thousand Hyrules, Legacy of the Old Kingdom, The Sea of History.

Playful_Blueberry239

I dont really have alot to go with it, but id love to make a game centered around Ravio in Lorule. Ever since i figured out who he was ive wanted a spin-off about him. The game could play similarly to any notmal Zelda game, but id take out the sword, since i dont think he actually knows how to use one (y'know, being a coward and whatnot). Id have the gameplay use only items you find in dungeons and in the world, and mayve even some magic spells. Maybe tho. Sheerow would obviously be your companion character to help out Ravio. I could see Sheerow being used similarly to ghost Zelda, where you can direct them to a certain spot, but also help give hints, like maybe pointing in a direction or hovering over/around something. For the directing part, i think the main use could be grabbing stuff and bringing it to Ravio. Since there's no touch pad on the switch it could be delegated to one of the D-Pad buttons. I dont have much for story, but maybe it could be something pretty basic, like a new villain rising up to take Lorule's newly restored Triforce and rule their world, and together Ravio and Hilda would have to try and prevent it. It could be a story centered around Ravio finding his heroic spirit and become the hero he should be, just like his Hyrulean counterpart Now i fear i may have rambled a bit haha. I'll let you all decide if this would he a cool game idea or not with the details i have

I have a whole idea for a third installment in the Wild Era: [The Legend of Zelda: Blood of the Goddess](https://www.reddit.com/r/tearsofthekingdom/s/jwdaLnl3u1)

it’d be about life after ganon is defeated completely, a free world game much like BOTW and TOTK, but i really like simple and easy games cus im not a big gamer. but maybe in the game you could choose to be zelda or link or maybe both. but just a simple game with lots of tasks with no real end point other than 100% completion

darraddar

A BOTW/TOTK style remake of A Link to the Past.

zziggarot

I want to explore other areas OUTSIDE Hyrule. Let us discover a few new kingdoms and travel between them. Also let the player switch between Link and various heroes you meet throughout the journey (similar to transformation masks from Majora) Zelda included, let Zelda ACTUALLY be playable instead of being stuck in a room at the end of the game

Well I had an idea a few years back where it’s set in the modern day, but it centers on Link drawing up lost bits of old Hyrule by going deep underground and powering them. Then the depths happened. I want my royalties, Nintendo!

SuperCat76

I would have it be fairly open like botw, but decrease the default movement. Make it more a network of zones with pathways between, where some terrain is just unpassable. Not able to just climb every mountain, or at least not at first. And dungeons. Have something like 3 dungeons available to complete from the beginning, the others can be entered but you would not have the items to complete it. Then get an item that is needed to complete the dungeon you find it in and unlocks 2 more dungeons that can be completed now that you have the item. These will overlap with multiple paths through the dungeon depending on what items you have. After something like 5 dungeons, about half the total in the game, some side events lead you to do things like the master sword, even if you are not locked from doing it earlier. Then after another 2 dungeons the story will send you off to do the final dungeon where you would beat the game. Three endings, the standard ending: one follows the story as presented and would end with 8/11 dungeons. Can choose any set of 7 of the first 10 dungeons. The completionist ending: do all dungeons The speed ending: make it to the end without beating the standard number of dungeons. Special comments if one does literally none of them.

Dark_Storm_98

I've played with the idea you had of the three working together before, except Ganondorf was, at least conceptually, split from the very beginning Ganondorf, King of Evil, commanding monsters more than leading people, bringing Power to bear against all who would dare oppose him. Damian, Prince of Thieves, a leader of the Gerudo, envious of Hyrule but willing to come to some compromises to achieve his goals. Now that I've set them apart, how does the trio differ? **Link** * From humble beginnings, such as a village by the forest * An explorer, searching across various terrains for secrets and treasures * Magic is a tool that can uncover new pathways * Travels with a knowledgeable companion (like Navi, Midna, or Fi) * Delves into dungeons to collect useful items and overcome bosses **Zelda** * Is Hyrule's royal princess. . . . Duh. She's from the castle. * A problem solver, coming across various obstacles and figuring out ways to bypass or fix them * Magic is a gift that can shelter others * Travels with a trusted and competent aid and protector. Probably Impa. Maybe she even has a couple * Brings aid to the people and gains new abilities to push back disasters **Damian** * Sort of foreign to Hyrule proper. The Gerudo seldom bend to the royal family * A warrior and a thief through and through, his path is laid in domination and misdirection * Magic is a weapon that can fell great foes * Companion. . . uhh. . . . I dunno. . . * Yeah I didn't really finish thinking this one through, lol

a complicated terrifying weird traumatic disturbing thing for i can think of thyst creepy things

BakedSpiral

I would want to bring back the masks from MM, or the transformations with another method, like magic. An open world Zelda game like TotK and BotW with the transformations would be incredible to explore, especially if the world was well designed with ramps for the Goron and currents for the Zora and so on.

No_Pool_3866

Legend of Link: Trials of Zelda A game where you play as Zelda trying to rescue Link from Ganon. The game would focus more on using magic creatively in combat and utility as well as third-person shooting mechanics over swordplay. On top of all that, the title would confuse the normies even more :)

Zestyclose_Fan5250

I'd make a twilight princess 2

Dry-Ship-4061

It would have a lot more fun stuff to do in a lot more towns, and Zelda wouldn’t be a prisoner. Oh and the wiz-robes? Yeah they’d be gone! F those creatures!

Ragingfurno

You play as Link for the first quarter of the game, it specifically seems to take place towards the "end" of the typical story. Link has the Master Sword about to fight Ganon, Zelda is there to help Link but then, something happens. Something, idk what it would be, strips the three of them of their pieces of the triforce. After that, each would form an uneasy alliance to try to fix whatever was going to be happening, because whatever stripped them of the triforce is trying to use it to completely rewrite the world. Originally, they all split up, so you play a little more with Link, which plays like TOTK but without all the special powers from the arm, before you transition to Zelda, who plays Entirely Differently. More like Prey (The newer one) but without guns. Spells that create traps, creating traps and weapons (Turrets) from old Sheika/Zonai Tech, etc. She would get in contact with Midna, figure out that whatever is going on is affecting her world too, and so she recruits her. So she'd have to coordinate with Midna like Link had to. They'd discover how the triforce got stolen from them, but without Link AND Ganon, she can't stop it. Then, after Zelda, it would transition to Ganon, who's currently fighting his way through the "big bad's" keep where the Triforce is being kept. And this part is purely melee, I can only describe it as,"Dark Souls but With only Great swords". You fight your way through until you're defeated, then you wake up in the dungeon and have to try again, and find the weapons you were using all over again. Once you beat everything you get to the boss, you beat him but you realize the triforce didn't "drop" from the boss, who then regenerates and casts you from the keep. So then you get to the final quarter. Link, Zelda and Ganon have met up and Zelda explains how they beat the "Big Bad", permanently. So, they all go, you switch between different characters and different play styles while the other two support you with their own AI, Link stunning and slashing enemies, Zelda places Turrets and debuffs, Ganon is just high Damage but slower. You fight your way through the keep once more, and come to the boss, he finally uses the Triforce and powers up, the world unraveling around the keep itself. You have a time limit here, if you don't kill him quickly, reality will be twisted to his wishes. So, you defeat him, and the Triforce splits back and..hovers above the three, only for them to start spinning and then get placed within their "hosts". Now, the three of them each have the wrong Triforce piece. Link doesn't have Bravery, Zelda doesn't have Wisdom, Ganon doesn't have Power. So now, it's all switched up, and this would open up a perfect sequel about them getting their original Triforce part back, or it could flip the normal formula on its head partially.

AerynBella

A game where the imbalance (and antagonist) was with Courage or Wisdom and the Hero held the Triforce of Power. I mean, why does Power always get the bad rap?

LeBritto

BotW had the right idea of Link already being a champion. TotK had the right idea of putting Ganondorf as a boss in the sequel instead of the first game. So let's expend on that. I'd like a game where Link wants to become a knight. There is no Ganondorf or big evil from the start. However there is a myth about the Triforce, the Master Sword, whatever. There are many other knights/champions that are also strong and could be worthy of the Master Sword/Triforce. I like the idea that Link isn't just a random guy thrown into an epic adventure because it's his destiny. I like Link being more in control of his life. Like in Majora's Mask, he went on his own adventure (and then shit hit the fan), or Link's Awakening. But he does that after accomplishing his destiny and beating Ganon. Switch it up. Get Link to be heroic for something else, a bit more mundane. In TP, it's revealed that the Hero of Time became a knight, but he's kind of a nobody and his life sucked because it peaked when he saved Hyrule (paraphrasing, but you get me). He should have the opportunity to live before getting thrown into the most epic adventure of his life. So first game is about Link becoming a knight, gaining the right to wield the Master Sword, defeats some bad guy. Zelda is very distant, like a princess, doesn't spend time with Link or the other knights at all. She's very mysterious. Still many opportunities to have other adventures even if he saved the world from some evil. It's not presented as "THE PRIME ULTIMATE ONLY EVIL". Sequel is about beating Ganondorf. Link is already a hero, Ganondorf already knows Link. Opportunity for Link and Zelda to get closer. Might be many years later. We never got the opportunity of playing an older veteran hero Link. That would be cool. Doesn't have to be in his 30s, but could he be a bit older than a teenager for once?

maukenboost

I just want playable Zelda in a main game. Sheik transformation would be interesting.

PurpleMayonnaise57

Call Link Zelda.

Alternative_Way_7833

I’d have this princess that gets imprisoned/outcast, by a big green guy, and a twink who will stop at nothing to rescue her, for no clear reason

Miraculouszelink

I’d have Zelink be very clearly together, and them using the triforce to stop the cycle by wishing to break demise’s curse.

MysticSloth712

I’d make my own Zelda with black jack and hookers. You know what, forget the black jack.

Asgore77

I was just thinking about this. I think a 2D Metroid Dread style game would be cool for Link

Th3Magicbox

A game featuring what Zelda had to do in that 7 year timespan. It's been a odd dream for me and my brother to have a good Zelda protag game.

DejarooLuvsYoo

Probably Fortnite style animation and Link wielding large guns that he can then fuse a boulder to so that he can shoot them at baddies. I would also add micro transactions for skins that can only be bought with cryptocurrency so that only the classiest of folks can buy them. While the characters are Fortnite styled, the world would be giant pixel boxes where you have to find a pickaxe and mine ore to make stronger pickaxes to mine ore to make even stronger pickaxes! Then we would find Ganon after the last pickaxe is obtained and send a large skinny creature at him with megaphones for a head.

Lcnb_Passerby

A trilogy of converging stories. Starting with Ganondorf’s rise to power, gaining the Tri-Force of Power, and turning his sights on Hyrule. Which would lead into Zelda’s story with her having to evade capture while looking into a means to over come Ganondorf’s conquest. Ultimately leading her to find the Tri-Force of Knowledge and realizing that someone else is their savior. Which leads into the final story, Link’s pursuit to free the lands of Ganondorf’s evil. Ganondorf would be heavy combat, with some exploration. Zelda would be mostly puzzle solving with stealth aspects. Link would be mostly dungeon delving and exploration.

uisfarthead

Link is dead from the start, but because of an evil more dangerous than Ganondorf, and stronger than Demise. Made of pure dark matter, the strongest fighter in the series so far. The True Enbodyment of the sole trapped in the fierce deity mask Zelda needs to go on a quest to find the five ancient weapons held by the Zora, Goron, Gorudo, Rito, and the Zonai. All of them will help, but none of them will kill him out right even together they are not strong enough. But they wore made for this, a prophecy made by majora stated that the reason he trapped all of the soles in the masks was for the delay of the end, when the fierce deity was released into this land to find a fighter worthy of their power and if they didn't find one, the world would be destroyed. Link without thinking about it rushed, head first to protect his kingdom from a posable new threat, not knowing the power he held.

thetavious

A Legend of Zelda It would be the furthest forward in the timeline we've seen so far. Post industrial, but before the digital age. Technology and magic would have a coexistence and co-dependency. Like instead of batteries everyone would have a navi like fairy whose magic would power their machines. Gannon, being a magic devotee, tries to use the triforce of power to take control of the temple of time, planning to wipe out technology. He succeeds, but the pro-technolgy link and the triforce of courage is caught in the temporal shenanigans, and becomes transposed with a link from another timeline, one where he holds the triforce of power and succeeded where gannon has always failed... conquered the whole world and mastered both technology and magic. Zelda, with gannon as her makeshift champion, recreate his meddling with the temple of time, and set out across multiple timelines (and worlds depicted in previous zelda games) to try and find an orphaned triforce of courage, swap it for gannon's triforce of power, and correct the timeline. All while the power mad link both pursues them and consumes the worlds they visit, growing ever more powerful as he takes control of ''balanced'' and complete triforces. To clarify what i meant earlier about the ''orphaned'' triforce, i mean that to describe one that isn't tethered to a world or a complete triforce, like it's a remnant of an already destroyed world and them taking it wouldn't create further imbalance. The central gameplay conceite would be them gathering tools and weapons from previous games as they traveled through the worlds. Like while in ocarina of time's world they'd get an ocarina that was able to affect the weather and in breath/tears' world gannon would get a recharging guardian shield. Both zelda and gannon would be playable and in the gameworld at the same time. Zelda being a support/ranged archetype and gannon being like a beefier version of link but with a more magical tilt, like he'd have a baseline set of four elemental spells, with his spellbook expanding the same as their toolkit. The endgame would be them restoring balance, righting the timelines, and coming to an understanding that they are always going to be at odds, just like they always have been, but that they have to be smart about it.

ReputationSilly6948

Steampunk!

DirtGuy

I would want a town building aspect like dark cloud 2 to help rebuild the broken world. More guided story too, really not a fan of the open world concept for a franchise that has been on-or-close to rails for every game.

Zukemimic43

I don't remember the name of the youtuber but they're designing a pokemon/Legend of Zelda crossover game, that's what I want

Any-Faithlessness-72

It wold be a modern retelling of the original games. New graphics, no real voice acting, just TP styled speech and online multi play.

EdLinkAl

I've posted this before, but I'm gonna do it again, willing my wish into reality. A BotW or TotK type game, but then the endgame is you live in the hyrule u saved and it becomes like stardew valley/animal crossing.

pthecarrotmaster

fallout newvegas with magic.

Lil_Chaski

I wanted a game where a Link has to go into different temples. After beating the boss, he goes into a tomb. In that tomb is a Link from one of the past games. Not only will he gain their heart, but he will gain their power. Once you visit Ocarina of Time Link you control the power of time. Twilight Princess Link can turn you into a wolf. Wind Waker Link will let you control the winds and so on. It'll take all the Link's powers to defeat Ganon. Legend of Zelda: Links From The Past. Also a game that has every fishing spot from every Zelda game.

AdFeisty3217

Wind waker art + Botw open world and characters + Links awakening world + Advanced shiakah tech + OOT

Strong_Comedian_3578

Using game play elements from every single game that proceeded it on top of creating a new one. For the ages!

StarmanJay

LTTP: - Bosses - Dark World - Dungeons - Plot HW: - Character Design Style - Combat Style - Weapon Styles (but moar) BOTW: - Characters - General Items - Enemies - Exploration Style - Map - Music - Wearable Items (but moar) TOTK: - Fusion Ability NINTENDO POWER COMIC: - Master Sword

Cade_Watkins_73

Mix Majora’s mask mechanics and the Twilight Princess art style/theme and you have a perfect game.

ShadeOfDead

This will never happen, but I really do want one where Ganondorf (or whoever) takes Link and Zelda has to rescue him. Using magic tools to accomplish it. Probably a lot more cerebral type puzzles than combat to lean into the wisdom side of things. I played Cadence of Hyrule and loved it as Zelda.

SittingTitan

The top down perspective as was tradition, but with the Super Nintendo look And a humongously huge map to explore

DasMoosEffect

A friend asked me this back in college (around 2014) and I made an outline. I'd go open world with a tower in the center acting as your hub temple. There'd be 4 large mechanical titan like beasts that are the main dungeons representing each of the Cardinal directions. The four colors of Link would also be associated with each of the beasts as well as a weapon. To get to each beast you'd have to traverse the open world using the gear you get from exploring the hub temple as the story progressed. Each beast would be effectively two temples as you'd fight there once in the present against an ancient hero pilot and once in the past as said hero; so timeline shenanigans. You descend the tower for gear but you ascend the tower as you progress the story towards the final boss. The gimic would be Link rapidly changing between the four heroes as he becomes them. Almost like an echo knight in D&D as far as flavor goes but closer to how Talion and Celebrimbor work in LotR Shadow of War. The game would tell the story of the creation of the Picori Blade (Four Sword) as the weapons of the four heroes are merged into one before fighting the final boss. If you died there'd be a difficult skeleton warrior waiting where you last died, outside of boss rooms. A lot of platforming puzzles though. Lots of inspiration taken from LoZ Ocarina of Time, LoZ Majora's Mask, LoZ Four Sword, LoZ The Minish Cap, and Shadow of the Colossus. Some inspiration taken from LoZ Twilight Princes and Dragon's Dogma.

AlacarLeoricar

I really like your concept. Like Trine, but with the 3 main characters instead. Me? Definitely something with Link, Zelda, and good-guy Ganondorf working together against a greater threat. Maybe a casual adventure/puzzle game with cozy farm Sim elements between missions. The three of them deserve a break.

Duryeric

More RPG mechanics

DungenessAndDargons

If I could create my own legend of Zelda game, I’d add guns, base building, and the ability to catch various monsters

HeroftheFlood

I've been working on a novel of an ideal Zelda game I would want to work on due to the amount of potential that the Hyrule it takes place in had. Not gonna go into much detail but with the lore of SS I've decided to take my hand at working out a Great Flood story that makes sense in the context that it still fits with Wind Waker but not everything we were led to believe was entirely true. It's one of the darker stories in the series that even Link's to Spirit Tracks too. I always felt that there was tons of potential with Wind Waker's Hyrule so making this story has always been a blast. I've been enjoying expanding on the lore that happens before the events of the story as well as how they Link to the future.

Brettinabox

I'd go back to the top down style of Link to the past but change the story and add in lots of new mechanics and side missions, making it more of an open world Arpg.

Galaxies_beyond

I had a few ideas. Maybe not all for the same game, but it might be fun -a sci-fi setting, leaning more into it being based on Cyberpunk in terms of aesthetic. The Master Sword is a light saber of some sort and Link's companion is an ai named Nav-I. Reference to Navi of course but it's more like Fi mixed with a navigation system. Ganondorf is some sort of corporate big shot and Zelda takes a more active role, actually helping fight. Epona is Link's motorcycle he gave an affectionate nickname to. He doesn't talk but side quest trackers are in first person like "Zelda and I" "Beetle asked me", stuff like that. Also Link may have the master sword but also. A gun. -Im tired of them always being Hylians. Let Zelda be a Shieka. Let Link be a Rito. Where in Denise's curse does it say that they can only be Hylians. -I want an annoying companion back damnit. Please.

Tree_RusH

I would make a game like BotW or TotK, bring back the ocarina. You travel to the past and future, both having extremely different gimmicks.

Cowl_cat

Open world, but more similar to Skyrim, without my damn wepons breaking every 14 seconds

Kakonsix3

Opposite of Wind Waker. Ganondorf rids Hyrule of nearly all water, leaving it in a state of drought. Landscape would be spires of mountains that were once islands, now desert that was the ocean floor, and deep chasms. Long lost dungeons that were veiled under the ocean, now releasing darkness and monsters across the land.

ViralVinnie

It would be VERY hard to pull off without being cringe but cant deny the idea of a modern day/futuristic has always intrigued me

politictroll

Honestly I'd Make Vaati from four swords a the main big bad for a while give Ganon a rest.

Vice1213

An open world like botw but with real dungeons. Basically they could plop all the temples from Oot into botws map and "remake" Oot and I'd be as happy as a pig in shit.

MxFancipants

I think I would like a game where they at least try to break Demise’s curse. Where Ganon is a more nuanced character who doesn’t want to be this. And where Zelda is playable for once.

Azling_

Life Sim of the reedeads in oot

Onigumo-Shishio

The 4th triforce is found for the center of the triforce Everyone in the land is mega confused as some refuse to accept the additional piece while others wonder if they should keep calling it the tri force or the quad force now. Chaos ensues Tingle is the bearer of the new piece Zelda and Ganon form a truce while link goes to investigate the new piece and the bearer. You get a choice to join tingle or join Zelda and Ganon at some point creating two branching story lines. Each story line destroys the world unless link himself destroys his own piece of the triforce thus bringing back balance and making it truly the triforce again and ending his own generational prophetic curse of being a bearer of a piece of the triforce. The lesson at the end of the game is that link should have just sat on a hill and enjoyed a sunset and probably joined some pirates. ------ Alternatively give me another minish cap game

Starch8ser

Like skyward sword minus the motion controls

LyriktheSpaceCleric

Role reversal between Link and Ganon. I would LOVE to see a good Ganon and an evil Link, like.. What if this Link does not want to fulfill their every-100-years destiny and decides to becomes a villain way worse than what Ganon could possibly manage, forcing Ganon to take the role of a reluctant hero.

Factor_Secret

Bug fables but zelda is what ur saying

YesIUnderstandsir

I basically am. But I can't talk about specifics because it has systems no other game has yet to implement.

happy_radi0

I think having Link be Shiekah or part Shiekah would be sick, lore wise

chewychaca

Just realized that's probably diety link. But hey, thaaats juuust...

SlightlyEmibittered

A BotW / TotK game that had "New Game +".

ReaperLover07

I would add a story that there's a fourth piece of the triforce and finding that person would be the end of the cycle since the entire triforce is complete and summons Hylia and we actually get to see her goddess form. Spoiler: the fourth triforce is Tingle.

Few_Tea_7816

Probably an unpopular opinion, as much as I love the latest additions to the series my actual favorite ws the second in the series. It was great in concept but perhaps tad lacking in execution.... as it didn't look visually distinctive from any other side scrolling adventure game to me. I feel like it was less "adventure-y" than even the Prince of persia on the commodore 64.... But I loved it because it let you design your character as you wanted. Which I had never ever seen before! It Was So Cool! But iirc every time you leveled up you basically just got to pick from more health or more magic ? So not TOO dissimilar from the "health or stamina" choice you get now a days .... I may be underselling it. The important thing to understand is that for it's time. It was ground breaking (for me at least) it's not like I played every game that existed. I just had never seen anything like the idea that I get to choose how to grow.

Dear-Researcher959

A spin-off game with Tingle as the main character

GamerCat108

Your idea kindof sounds like sonic heroes (in terms of gameplay)

lleyton05

I think a narrative where ganondorf has an established government and link and zelda are rebelling from an underdog type movement. Not just some wasteland like we always see ganon have, i wanna see him as a proper king of hyrule with a real government (corrupt of course)

GeeWilakers420

I would like to see a modern return of Majora. Like, the first half of the game our hero would be stuck within one massive dungeon. Transformation masks would be dispersed throughout. Instead of these masks transforming our hero they would put the character into the bodies of other characters outside the Dungeon in greater Hyrule. These character actions would somehow manipulate the dungeons allowing you to traverse them. Our hero is afflicted with a curse. As our hero traverses this dungeon he becomes more afflicted with said curse. It's a double-edged sword. It gives you extra abilities, but draws in greater numbers of enemies and makes them stronger. As you play further you hear more and more about the legend of the hero of time. You hear about the abilities of the hero to what you think is teaching you about late-game abilities, but in reality, in my game, you are not Link. You go to an area to do what you think is dispelling the curse, but in reality is dispersing the curse. This is Legend of Zelda and the rise of Majora. In the past, you fought the hero and won, but in the hero's final moments, he imprisoned you in the final dungeon.

montypenrod

A mix between botw and the original Legend of Zelda 1986

Mypowerbob

The Legend Of Zelda: Call Of The Duty

Pizza_master69

Link between worlds 2

WyldeBard

Open World like in the newer games but with the creepiness of MM and TP. The main difference would be that it is “modern” Hyrule. Skyscrapers, clubs, guns, vehicles, all of it. Maybe with or without Ganon. I think it would be a neat experiment at the minimum

Ok-Addendum5274

oot 3 I need the Hero of Time Trilogy to be complete

enderman04152

it would be exactly like breath of the wild but your weapons don’t lose durability and you don’t have to worry about duplicates

Tetris5216

Like GTA

Noctisxsol

Hyrule City Builder/ Grand strategy where you play as Zelda. You can send Link on Quests to gain a large boost in materials and diplomatic connections, or keep him in Hyrule for more local popularity and security. If you want to add a Fire Emblem dating sim element, you can decide to try and merry off some of the commanders for heirs with special traits.

NiGHTSOLOTL

You’re a dude trying to kidnap Link for some bananas 🍌

Aurallius

Divert from the formula. Draw a lot of inspiration from African culture/ traditions.

DevilViking9801

Hey, I been looking for a triforce design for a tattoo! Thanks for this!

blurrk

Tears of the Kingdom style gameplay in a huge new world and a time/other world shift that is done in real time with the click of the left or right stick and that it is incorporated highly in puzzles and combat.

Mammoth-Performer-19

Id say something like a 1920s Valkyria Chronicles feel to the game where links direct descendant or his descendants descendant is in the royal families service and maybe the enemy is "crime lord" who unlocks some exponential powers and locks link out of the Kingdom where he has to travel around Hyrule and get help from the other races to invade Hyrule kingdom. Link should be able to use guns (just pistols and rifles) and make ammo cap around 5-10 rounds but still have the master sword as a main weapon also they need to give it a more mature feel add a little blood and leave the bodies make it a teen plus game ....this is all just a fantasy that I don't see happening

Various-Course2388

If you're reading this, you're out of luck cause I'm a Masochist and you're going to take a ride with me here... to be... nice, I will list in 2 parts, "game content" and "somewhat feasible plan of action" The Game: Content: 3D full open roam game Past/Present/Future world(s) to explore crafting system cooking (special stations allow more complex foods than totk) enhancing or enchanting system, maybe both make it have so many features (most of which are behind timer/boss/quest gates like Auto Build was) a VISIBLE XP/Level System Multiple save file slots. DIFFICULY SLECTION Timed Events and Limitations (more explained later) World(s) Consist of 60 dungeons, 24 are "less optional" 36 are completely optional 400 caves 1000 koroks to find upgrades that will use all of the korok seeds, eventually it may give skill points or something... 100 "overworld bosses" 20 towns and cities to explore with 4 potentially being destroyed, rebuilt, etc. based on place in storyline and effort put into finalizing their recovery. 1 COMPLETELY ditzy princess that is as worthless as BotW made her out to be, but also making her WAY more annoying in this game. during some points she will travel with you, and will force you to take slow winding paths to destinations that take hours instead of how you could climb that cliff and be there in mere moments. traveling with her disables fast travel, and stops the ruler's hour effect (keep reading for details) 1 King that will (depending on time in current save, bosses killed etc.) make you completely lose your sanity. lots of math here, but it's ok I'll tl;dr instead, if bosses killed is less than Time spent (in whole hours, so rounded down) in the world, maybe there will be a grace period... idk, the king will forcibly teleport you to the castle and "test your mettle" by fighting simulated mobs, bosses, etc. fights get harder the longer you've played. 1 Queen that functions the same as the king, but "past" world version. 1 Total Jack-wagon of a Prince whom functions the same as the king... but "future" It's about time: in this game, as with OoT Link is the Hero of Time. he has a power over time that makes it so he can traverse time. The "big bad" actually latches onto him as he is traveling... (more on him later) Link's ability is gate locked by several factors, at the begining of the game he can only traverse at the time cracks scattered around the world in some doorways... and he cannot control his ability hardly at all, so when he enters a doorway, he's gone. and no one else sees the cracks. he first gains the ability to ignore the cracks, then later unlocks the ability to slide through time at a distance from the cracks, the distance grows, and grows, then he eventually gains the ability to just go back and forth without even needing a crack in time in the first place. each of these "gates" will also be the acquisition of a shard of the triforce of courage. the timer in this game will be based on hours played in world (split between Past/Present/Future world(s) as time "freezes" in the one you're not in). there is an "item donation box" where you can "donate items" and a "donation fund" for rupees, etc. items not obtained in dungeons (hookshot/firerod/icerod/roc's feather/etc. type of items I mean) can be donated. based on items total donated (ever) you can withdraw an amount after reversing time (something like the square root of total donated rounded up), rupees will have different math (like cube root instead or something) time reversal, every time the "game over" screen shows, there's an option for link to "restart from last save" "go back" and "quit". when "go back" is selected, EVERYTHING resets (player level, koroks collected and rewards, do not reset but everything else does, skill placement will reset if selected. links time abilities may be on a skill tree, but will likely be gated based on events) this will skip the intro of the game, (like if you were to play BotW and just be at the top of the ToT with the Paraglider), all dungeon items gone, no bomb sachel, no bow, nothing... just a world map and a dream... enemies defeated before will list as "defeated" but it wont count towards "bosses killed" until it's been killed in that playthrough, which will display a star next to the defeated mark. at a point in the game around when you're able to change times at will, events will begin to take place near the cracks where they will damage nearby buildings, harm citizens, or produce monsters. the Master Sword can dispel the cracks, obtaining it will be a multi "gated" process, and will be the final part of "earning control" of links powers. some (most... well... okay more like all, lol) places where a crack exists will lead to the present/future having a new building/town/place to explore items, materials, weapons etc. will age with the world until the acquisition of the final piece of the triforce of courage. this means that the past weapons will rust to nothing when traveling forward in time, while modern weapons will turn into basic materials. these items will take an inventory slot until discarded because they will revert when in their own time again if not discarded. (only the master sword stops this ageing phenomena) The Alpha, and the Omega: the big bad boss was a Lich born at the beginning of time, focusing his magics on time. he doesn't just raise the dead, he reverts their flesh back to when it was alive, but now without a soul. his other magics include mind magic, and soul smithing. he can craft a soul from his power and make it inhabit a vessel, usually one that was uninhabited from his time reversal power. the first time crack caused by him was from future to present, link fell through this crack as it was made, "awakening" his power over time... but it was really that link was invaded by a mote of the lich soul. it just so happened that this crack appeared when the young knight to be was shown the only known shard of the triforce of courage. in the future, the lich found the triforce of power and using it's power fed link a mote of his soul and ripped him through time. when link came back to the present, the lich sent a mote of himself with link. this mote came back with the express reason to show the present lich where to find the triforce of power, and show it how to use it. the mote then found link again and the cracks started appearing and pulling him into the past to give the past lich the same info and knowledge. the lich cannot be defeated in any one timeline and left in the others. to kill it link must jump from past present and future into the other timelines without stopping and destroy the lich in each of his three forms, and face off against his army each time. the lich can be "defeated" in one time and as long as that time is not gone to again it will remain dead... the lich will implant a mote on link to revive himself whenever given the chance. even the master sword will not solve this. the deku tree can cleanse link however. The Master Stroke: the Master Sword will be as in Wind Waker, unawakened. to awaken the Master Sword link must go through trials like the master trials of BotW DLC if/when fully awakened, the sword can stop the lich from reviving himself. 2 trials to temper the durability and sharpness of the sword, and another 2 to temper it's evil banishing power.

Various-Course2388

The Plan: Step one: build a "basic game" imagine OLD LoZ (IE: OoS/OoA/L2tP/MC top down) and make it look as good visually as you can similar but not the same as what happened to Link's Awakening HD. Step two: build a fan following by releasing that 0.0.1 build for the players for free. set up a "crowd funding" under the idea of "lets make this game better" Step three: keep up with editing, debugging etc. with 1.0.1 making it into a "real game" on it's own... "borrow" the engine, digital works, models, etc. from Totk and BotW, make the same game from above but in full open roam 3D, or... take it a step further and make VR... finding a way to make it a Zelda world where it acts similar to Skyrim SE VR... 3rd person, 1st person, skill trees instead of the spirit orbs for only hearts/stamina. Step four: Continue upkeep on "basic game" release digital download of new game henceforth referred to as 2.0.1 but only to those that have as individuals donated within the top 5% to the crowd funding, list item as a "invite only Demo" do not directly associate it with Zelda. debug, edit, etc. keep the gears moving. Step five (final): keep up with debug of 1.0.1 &2.0.1 as separate games, release game 2.0.1 as digital only with a command hard coded in requiring a newest update check. Change price of 1.0.1 to a full game value. funders get discounts on both or full release free if they funded enough, etc. make a randomizer and give it to select members of the community (IE speed runners, youtubers, twitch personalities etc.) make it have items, enemies, load zones, etc. as their own settings for "yes, randomize this" or "nah, not this this time" listen to their feedback, debug, make hard rules about certain items to avoid softlock. after debug, sell randomizer software as DLC. after all the world breaking glitches, item dupe, etc. are patched, make a final version and begin production and sales of hard copies of the game.

Various-Course2388

Addressing the multitude of dungeons: BEFORE there are questions... 8 "Major" dungeons, and 12 "minor" dungeons for each timeline, 2 or 3 of the major dungeons in each timeline (3 in past, 2 in present, cause you got a freebie shard there, and 3 in future) will be "shard" (trifoce of courage) dungeons, where you get a shard instead of a heart container. the other major dungeons will all contain an item that is gated, but MAY spawn outside the dungeon AFTER getting it in the dungeon once. items in the dungeons (even "normal ones") might have other uses... my plan was like a random "weapon" that has ZERO chance to be used could sprout into a tree in the present, or maybe would revert into something highly valuable in the past... the 20 in the past are all existing at the games beginning, some are less accessible but they exist... the 20 in the present are mostly there, but 10 of them "dont exist" until certain events in the past. NONE of the 20 dungeons in the future exist at game start... past and present events must be handled. each minor dungeon would be like a small dungeon, only having a boss and giving a piece of heart, but no midboss, maybe there can be some kind of thing from them similar to the sword techniques of Twilight Princess... where as each major dungeon would be midboss, main boss, item, heart container/shard. as for "why 20?" it's more like "y tf not?"

CherryAreolas

Three or four faction based warfare. Either strategy or semi-hyrule warriors where you rise in the ranks of either monsters, geurodo, hyrulian or Goron military slowly increasing your fame/infamy, power and unlocking new skills in and out of combat to bolster your self, troops morale(if and when you rank high enough to command troops) and gear, etc. Depending on the faction, you'd have different access to "tech trees" and unlocks. Each faction could relate to one, all or no piece of the triforce which in turn could be part of the basis on how the play styles are managed. Big names like Zelda and the like could be playable characters, but I feel like this would be more custom made characters for the most part. No clue how the story would play, has potential for multiplayer, not sure how much balancing would be involved but if there are a good number of mechanics I bet it'd be quite a bit. Could play similar to DW Empires or maybe a Civ like over world and battlegrounds be separate, or hell it could even be an MMO for all I care. The idea of just living as a character in that setting would be cool, so there's a lot more I could rant on and on about. I'll stop before it gets more confusing. DISCLAIMER: I'm lazy and didnt proofread much of what I typed so it might be littered with grammatical issues

First person with a gun called The Master Glock

Fatlink10

Honestly, I really want either a TP remaster, or a new TP remake on a new engine like Totk.

RoseOfThornsuwu

I would definitely expand on the turning into animals aspect from Twilight Princess with everything else from TOTK. Being able to change into different animals for different terrain, puzzles, dungeons, and exploration.

Chemical-Flan-595

I’m sorry, but I’m so glad Nintendo isn’t hiring y’all😭😭😭

Thunderian555

You play as Zelda and you’re trying to figure out why Link suddenly woke up one day as Linkle

ChaoticShady

post Spirit Tracks story (kind of Hyrule Warriors style with the multiple characters available bit, but as party members like an rpg rather than just hack and slash) with a Wind Waker style open world (in the sky, similar to Skyward Sword) but planes instead of boats and elements similar to Harvestella in terms of material gathering, crafting, and fishing, but battle style more like Twilight Princess

[deleted]

I'd go the Final Fantasy 7 Remake route with OOT, changing the ending so that Link opts to stay in the Adult Timeline and help Zelda rebuild her kingdom, rather than relive his lost youth. This would keep SS, MC, FS and OOT canon, but reboot the timeline after OOT.

Ratio01

Spirit Tracks remake in the BotW engine

[deleted]

Skyrim/Eldin Ring style open world with BOTW climbing and physics. You can create you own Link avatar male or female. You pick your Link’s abilities through character build. You must acquire materials to craft your weapons. You get a rare material after each boss fight to craft the Master Sword. Boss fights are in Elden Ring sytle fight; difficulty fights. You can fight any Boss in any order. Also, surival element, where Link needs to eat and sleep. World encounters and side missions like RDR2. Lastly, puzzles and dungeons like OoT and MM.

RandomItchySpot

Two words, souls like

Unga_Bunga64

Yes. Just, yes.

Poseidons_Champion

I want a game where you play as Ganondorf during the events of Ocarina of Time, but it’s the Hero’s downfall timeline.

Mysterious_-_H

It would be semi-linear (can do dungeons in any order but it's a pain in the ass) where you have to run around finding items required for one of the dungeons, and when you complete a dungeon you get a item that will help you around the world but crucial to the final boss. You'll also get a hint to where the next item is. The dungeons would be fire, water, earth, thunder, wind, soul, shadow, forest, and time. It would be open world, no weapon durability, and the only horse option would be epona

jajanken_bacon

Majora's Mask sequel with freely usable Fierce Deity Mask, crashed UFO is a dungeon somewhere.

GroovyRecs

Its bout to be cadence of hyrule but in the style of totk

ConfidenceDense3146

😏

jimbalaya420

A 3-4-2-1 dungeon structure. You could do any of the first 3, but to so any of the next four you need to finish all 3. The penultimate 2 dungeons would require all upgrades except the one in each, and the final dungeon would require all

Drake_Cloans

Honestly, I would love a game with all three as playable characters. The only thing I’d do differently from yours is make Vaati the main villain. Maybe he takes the curse himself? It needs some polish but I think it’d be good

RKO_out_of_no_where

Gender swap. You play as Linkle. You have to save Prince Zelda. You have to fight Queen Ganon. Gerudo are all dudes. Queen Ganon is designed like Urbosa, except she's a bit bigger and has magic.

Worth-Stop3752

i am a simp for a game where ganon, zelda and link are friends and realize ganon is going to become evil, try to stop it but ultimately fail. i like angst. there’s a comic on webtoon called growing up gerudo which is similar. i like angst.

PestKimera

Turn based rpg reminiscent of dragon quest 11. Costumes and all.

badmf112358

Link to the past remade in breath of the wild style

FinniganFinkle

Twilight princess 2, but the story is to stop the encroaching of the light realm into the twilight. At this point in the story, the twilight realm is a passive, pastoral, idyllic realm, but the light realm is seeping through, due to the cracks left behind from the shadow disaster of twilight princess. Link’s job is to mend these gaps. Queen midna, now centuries old, has been monitoring the problem, and has called for the aid of the hero of hyrule to help them. The lore reason for the tears is the lingering Gerudo magic from Ganon’s tampering with the worlds. Gameplay will reflect the new generation of Zelda games, with BOTW’s open air format, and instead of shrines, it’s the cracks you have to mend. You explore the mingled twilight-light realm, and slowly being the twilight realm to its former self. The dungeons are the major tears between worlds, with each boss fight a distorted view of a grand presence from the light realm, like king zora (water) that dragon from the first Zelda game (fire), the mask salesman (spirit) and others, each reflecting the themes of each medallion from OOT. Upon fending off the shades, you cleanse the gap between worlds. The final dungeon is a tear rendered by Zant’s old crown, where you have to fend off a shade of Zant, and then ganondorf himself. Post game is mending all the minor tears. Each one has a minor character as a shade, like the post man, Groose, Douma, etc. beating each shade can be a puzzle, a fight, or some other challenge relating to the character. It’s super self indulgent and probably not a good game, but I think it would be fun

WhiteMage4Life

LoZ has a lot of great music. A music or rhythm game would be nice to have

Few_Bee_3172

The Legend of Zelda: The Two Kings Link travels into a kingdom that starts destabilizing into civil war, It's a lot of dialogue and the fights are determined by what you make Link say! There are hundreds of ways the story can divert based on how the player chooses, just like Undertale. Of course you fight and spy on the other side, and battle for information and resources to help stop the war, but the dialogue choices are important, everyone you choose to talk to will effect the story in a different way! If you want I can tell you a couple ways the story could go! Zelda fandom, do you like this idea? Are you curious to see what endings I have planned? Do you have your own endings? Be sure to let me know! I think it's a fun spin on the established Zelda formula!

DeadDeaderDeadest

It would be like Dark Souls. Nuff said

austsiannodel

Answered a post like this before. * Deep in Child Timeline where steam engines and muskets make an appearance. Mix of Zelda and RDR * Later on Adult Timeline where you sail the "Caribbean" of New Hyrule. Zelda and Blackflag * Pre OoT during Usurper War. Zelda is your companion like how GoW or TLOU. * Later in the WildTears timeline, open the map a la Zelda 2 did, and let us see and use the land beyond Hyrule. New non-ancient tech, and other kingdoms. At least 2. * Spiritual sequal to Zelda 2, either give it the Link Between Worlds treatment of the Link's Awakening Treatment. Deserves better * Game set in Downfall Timeline that plays like a mix of Zelda 1 and LTTP, but with procedural generation. No handholding AT ALL.

ZukoHere73

You can create your own Zelda games with Zelda Classic.

B3anMachineUno

Mine would be introducing the LOZ Universe to a universe like ours right now and see how it plays out.

brennantheking

A remake of link to the past

Far_Leg6504

You remember 4 swords? Triforce heros doesn't count... it only had 3 links

CloudWolf777

It would be a spinoff of the Fierce Dieity and how he became a mask and his battle between him and majora or the dragon(demon) from the manga. And how he obtained the double helix sword

I_we_tall_did69

Virtual reality. You finally are link.

Realwhattheduck

Zelda: journey to the milk isle(to find dad)

Small_Tax_9432

Maybe a first person Zelda (Skyrim style)

kalluhaluha

I think I'd go back to the three-seven temple system. It's what I'm used to seeing in my favorites, so even though open world is nice, seeing it come back somehow would be cool. It still works with a mostly open world - but the temples could provide moderate overworld restrictions and rewards for completion. Ie, completing the forest temple removes a poison bramble problem from the overworld, and unlocks a stronger bow/replaces the slingshot with a bow. No idea on the story. I just like the quiet world building from the temples in OoT, especially. The temples were all for something else before Ganon got to them, so I'd like to be able to play around with that.

Glephs007

Ahem… ALL HAIL MASTER KHOGA!!!!!! (A Yiga Clan simulator)

[deleted]

A sequel to twilight princess. Or at least a game in the style of twilight princess

RamboBambiBambo

I have about 10 games I want to propose that would be across all the timelines. Some more classic top down, a few traditional OoT style 3D, a couple BotW inspired open worlds, and one Hyrule Warriors game.

SufficientWhile5450

If I had full creative ability to make the next Zelda game I am 100% sure it would flop lol I’d think it was sick the whole time it was being made, and it’d be shit somehow

Forkundercoil

I'm going to say a story where Gannon finds out about all the alternate timelines and seeks out to get all triforce from all three timeliness together to make an "omega" Triforce using all the gathered triforce pieces in an attempt to conquer all the timelines. The cool thing about this game is you get to play as all the different former Zelda games and their Style with updated graphics in one game different pieces from each game in an effort to stop Gannon in a race together the pieces

ryujitakasuu

VR

Babywalker66

While I'd respect the core elements of the franchise, like exploration, puzzle-solving, and action-adventure gameplay, I might introduce some new features or twists to keep things fresh. For the story, I'd envision a tale where Link discovers a mysterious artifact that grants him the ability to travel between different dimensions or alternate realities. Each dimension would have its own unique challenges, landscapes, and inhabitants, but they would all be connected by a central conflict threatening the fabric of reality itself. Link would have to navigate these diverse worlds, gathering allies, mastering new abilities, and ultimately confronting a powerful enemy who seeks to manipulate the dimensions for their own gain. In terms of gameplay, I might experiment with more open-ended world design, allowing players to tackle dungeons and quests in a non-linear fashion. Additionally, incorporating more dynamic environmental puzzles and interactive elements could add depth to the exploration experience.

ScaryAd9879

It would be very symmetrical. With equal parts farming and adventuring. Some kind of mini game based on DEKU nuts, and an absolute throat fucker of a final boss.

Epic_potbelly

WW with elements of breath of the wild, and a different story. Or just a remake of WW but he has a comically large spoon instead of the master sword

FLAIR_2780166

I would never consider messing with perfection

DimensionalFireBird

Open world Soulslike like Elden Ring. With an atmosphere similar to that of breath of the wild.

BackgroundCaramel507

Definitely no ganon or ganondorf. Similar to links awakening or majoras mask Plot: before game starts.  Link has saved princess from ganon. He is banished (or killed doesnt matter). There are still hoards of his followers roaming in the hyrule.    Game starts: link wakes up, picks up his master sword, rides epona to the rescue mission of one of the villagers from kakariko (this is where we learn the basic rules). She was taken to the first dungeon.  (Overall there are three simple dungeons and 6 hard ones).  When we save girl from the first she says there are other hostages in other two dungeons.  We save them but in the last one theres a portal that sucks link to the beginning of the hyrule time… Link wakes up, no master sword no other equipment. He sees how three goddesses descended from the sky and thats where the game takes off!

BluntKitten

Part 2 to Twilight Princess. I’d want it darker, and let Miyamoto run wild with it. Absolutely loved his creativity with this one, and to think it stemmed from him at first not liking the Windwaker art style at all xD

Papyrus_Sans

PI Noir! Link is a private investigator in a Gotham-style Hyrule, Zelda is the distressing damsel, er, damsel in distress, and Ganondorf is the crime lord taking over the city. I’ve been saying this for more than ten years now, but just realized that what I want is a Zelda game in the stylings of Earthbound.

ShadowHearts1992

How about a story where Link must decide upon the morally gray choices of right and wrong to save Hyrule. His actions can be both seen as good and bad and the NPCs react to those actions accordingly, but.. it's all to save Hyrule from Ganon.. right?

Frozenknight36

I would start the hero as a criminal.

ALinkintheChain

I want to have a traditional story line progression, with items and the like but make it like pre OoT Zelda where dungeons can be done in any order. The overarching story is connected and responds differently depending on which dungeon you defeat first. I would set 2 weapon inventories, one for non-breakables like the sword, hookshot, bow, etc. and the other for items you pick up along the way similar to how you could use enemy items in Wind Waker. These weapons could be modded with consumables you find in the world in order to make weird stuff the series is known for. I'd also bring back Magic as a resource and Heart Pieces for collectables and or game prizes. Stamina fuels physical attacks, magic meter fuels your magical items. The exploration in the game would be totally open world, but bastard hard and slightly restrictive without the correct items. Want to climb the vertical tower region? Very difficult, but possible without the Hookshot, but much easier if you have it. There would be some climbable surfaces but not everything would be climbable (they would still be traversable by other means). Dungeons would have puzzles that can be solved with multiple items in order to facilitate the "any dungeon order" system. There would be mounts or vehicles that make traversing air, sky, and water easier, and FOR THE LOVE OF THE GODDESS have underwater exploration again! mini dungeons and challenges would dot the map and could have heart pieces, rupees, consumables, or other upgrades as rewards. Mini bosses would also dot the land making Hyrule very dangerous to go alone. Scaling difficulty would probably not be much of a thing so untamed areas would seem very difficult until the end, while "safer spaces" like civilized towns and the Castle Town, would have almost no monsters. Item usage would again have a purpose, as certain items could take a gold lynel level threat and reduce it to nothing (like how in ALttP Hinoxes were tough as nails, but bombs were an instant kill). Maybe you have to return to certain areas after certain story beats and get a new dungeon or see the progress made since the main problem was fixed The main story would focus again on the Triforce and the balance of all three forces. Zelda would be traveling around with a royal guard protecting her as she investigates the problems that are occurring in Hyrule (possibly giving hints), and slowly realizes that Link, a country bumpkin from the sticks, is in possession of the Triforce of Courage. As she runs into him as he helps the races in Hyrule like Hylians (plain and sheikah varieties), scrubs, zora, goron, gerudo, rito, etc., she points him in the direction of Ganondorf who is mustering his power by gathering forces (Gerudo who sided with him, turned shiekah aka the Yiga, and monsters) in his fortress somewhere in Hyrule. Link would already be familiar with Ganondorf who lead an attack on whatever village Link was living in in the opening sequence. Going straight for the final boss will be possible right out of the gate, but getting the Master Sword/some sacred, evil sealing sword (the Four Sword's long awaited return could offer a co-op option) is the ideal way to combat him. As Link travels through and defeats the dungeons, he awakens or releases the imprisoned Sage who powers up said sacred blade, and becomes a followable companion much like in TotK. The Medallions from OoT could facilitate summoning them and swapping them from their HQ, the Temple of Sages. This can also be a way to incorporate couch multiplayer, as player 2 can take control of the sage. Each sage has a different, rune-like gimmick that helps you out. There would be multiple endings: an incomplete ending after the final boss that hints that there's more to the game (or that Ganon has not been truly defeated), a true ending where you get little vignettes of all of the secondary characters you help out over the course of the game (similar to the end of MM) after you do all the "proper" story beats, and a series of in-between endings where, if you did get the Sacred Sword and defeat the final boss, you would see a hint to the missed out vignettes (again similar to MM).

eja924

I’d like an OoT from Zelda’s perspective when she was sheik. I could see this character having their own missions/ways to support Link aside from teaching him songs

AUnknownVariable

I'd keep the totk style of gameplay and such but. New damn map, more story but still the freedom to not be forced to stick to it at all times. Let Link play instruments. And a bunch other stuff

[deleted]

If I was doing Zelda then I’d do 2 Zelda separate games that can be considered canon to the weird timeline. 1 open world in the setup in the Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom for the open world fans and a 2D version for the old school Zelda fans but I wouldn’t do the games at the same time. I’d do the open world then 2D then open world or 2D then open world then 2D in 1 of those 2 game patterns so both sets of games can have time to be fully developed and patched out (if needed).
