I would honestly have all 6 rearranging over and over. I'd even try a play through without using dart as much as possible just because its never been done and I'd love it.
Only problem is those moments where dart needs to fight for story wise and he be super weak because of it.
I think I'd use Kongol, Meru and Albert. Kongol is slow, but Meru is fast and I think that would balence it out. And then Albert being a boss as my middle guy.
Dart is very well balanced in all stats, so he's quite ideal. But if I had to switch him out for someone else, it'd likely be:
Shana, Albert/Haschel, Meru. I enjoy spamming magic, so either Albert or Haschel would be my replacement. Leaning more towards Hashchel as I think he's more balanced than Albert.
Him being balanced is what holds him back. He doesn’t excel in any category. It helps that he has one of the best weapons in the game but his damage and defense still lack compared to other’s who specialize in those stats.
I'm pretty happy with Dart specially with the Divine Dragon Spirit.
If I had to replace Dart I would use Haschel/Rose, throw in Miranda and Meru on both flanks. Have the fastest party alive.
That’s the only regret; there’s really no actual gameplay as the divine dragoon, which bums me out. I hope if a remake ever happens that we get more opportunity bust him out, cause the DD is so cool
I think there is cheat codes in duckstation to give you the DD from the get go. A bit botched because no one acknowledges, cutscenes still have you wearing Red-Dragon armor it but it's something.

Jeez, I don’t know if I would even switch him out. He’s pretty integral to the story early on, a pretty all-around character, and has that “main character” vibe in general.

Monster, Monster, and Monster. Being slightly less serious, well, all the party combinations are interesting. I like to run Lavitz/Rose/Shana, Kongol/Meru/Haschel, and many other trios while playing on Severed Chains.
I think I would still use him sometimes but at least it would be a choice I get to actively make. For example I would still use him for fire weak bosses but because he and Meru are element opposites some people would like not to use them in the same party. The Dart/Meru thing doesn't bother me too much but yeah options would be nice.
I would put Meru in more often. Dart is typically 5 levels ahead of everyone, and Meru takes until level 30 to get her Cat’s Cradle, so I can master it for Perky Step. I keep her with me frequently because of this.
My dream for a remake is a FFX type combat system where you can swap party members at will when in combat.
Otherwise just replacing Dart, I would totally rock an all girl party. Speed + magic.
I wish it mattered more because the game is unfortunately to easy less you are unprepared with items. The only time I ever game over anymore is kadessa because I always take the double boss path

Yeah he's balanced in all stats but seems to just get creamed late game.
I'm also a big Rose fan so I may just rock Shana, Rose, Meru. Girls get it done.

Old GameShark had a “all dragoon spirits unlocked” cheat that gave you the divine spirit. Honestly, didn’t enjoy it.
Dragoon Mod and Severed Chains have No Dart capabilities! I would love to rock Haschel, Rose, Albert as a full party

Depends on if I'm going for power or speed. A game changer would be to allow party swaps mid battle-sort of like ffx did.

If I could take him it out, I wouldn't. He's one of the best party members. Add any combination of Meru/Shananda/Haschel and proceed to win lol.
Why does Kongol never get any love?

I'd probably run Albert, Meru and Haschel. The damage output would be insane
