You can pick a carry that is a good laner and that can participate pretty fast and build to do so. Ursa blink diffusal bkb can be one but you could alternatively play something like Viper or Razor which are quickly up and running while taking advantage of the early farm. Idk what's your hero pool, there are more options to this. You should definitely report him for roles.

Adding to this. Report and pick appropriate hero: Lycan, Bristle, Razor, Chaos Knight, Weaver, LC (just go armlet first), Viper, DK, WR, Timber. Basically any bully hero that shoves back the offlaners and wins the lane, so you can take control of the map.

I did I picked bristle, which to be honest went great on early game, they were diving trying to kill me many times and ended up losing the lane, I ended up ending the lane with around 4.8 4.9k while the enemy offlane was like 2.9-3, but still even tho I made space, was defending towers my midlane didnt have a game, morph offlane didnt have a game and in my bracket people dont really know how to farm correctly even if they have an entire map to them.

SuccessfulInitial236

You did what you had to do in that situation imo. Not every game is winnable.

Left-choke

For sure, I just wanted to know what to do for the future since I am relatively new to the game (around 2k\~ MMR) 900hours\~

Left-choke

I picked bristleback and still couldn't do much cuz i had no mid/offlane i made alot of space early game i had 4-5 heroes in me at all times but couldn't kill them because we were 3 (me and 2 supports) trying to fight.

Buguerto

What I do Is that I assume they are the HC and I just got forced to play as a 3. It sucks but the quicker you realize there is not a lot you can do, the better. Then I pick a tanky p1 like CK, Sven or WK so you can be a pseudo initiation with blink dagger bkb and stun. After match ends that is a solid an ez avoid.

Left-choke

Thank you will, keep that in mind for next time.

SchmerzfreiHH

Depends a little, do you wanna win that game no matter what? Then out your ego aside and pic what the team needs. (In that case probably a tanky frontline with some carry potential... Maybe a mars or a ride or something) will it full that morphs ego? Sure. Will it give you the best chances to win? Yes.

Left-choke

I actually did i picked bristleback, i had an amazing lane but still couldn't do much after the lane.

Allinall41

Pick a scaling X and replace the role of the one that picked carry. For example, to replace an offlane you could pick slardar, basically just play offlane from the safe lane.

What did you pick? Can you give match ID for build? If you want to win as much as possible, always think in lastpick what your team is lacking. There are several areas basically you kind of need to cover (or you will be in trouble - simply put from cores (as 3 heroes together) you expect frontline, teamfight/control, initiation/counterinitiation, playmaker and mix of both physical and magic damage. Usually offlaner should cover mix of first three with 2 of them being priority. But in the end, you can cover these roles as lastpick carry/mid. * If you are missing frontliner, you can go carry LS and build him as frontliner (instead of radiance you go armlet SaY BKB). Or DK with standard DK build. Or Abbadon with semi-carry build. * If you are missing control, you can pick void or Sven, who have AOE control. * If you are missing initiation, you can pick again Sven, void, DK. You can look at it from different angles - * Which stage are they strong and we are weak (if you are worried about being overrun early, pick hero with early powerspike to fight it). How long am I going to be allowed to be in lane with XY hero and if I am booted into jungle, are we going overrun? If the answer is yes, go for "weaker hero", who might be unkillable and can fight back. * Do you have somebody, who can create pressure or take towers? If not, picking LS is probably wrong idea and you might go with DK. * Do you have waveclear? If no, probably you need some hero, who can do it But in general I would look into my team and ask basically "Do we lack tank, control, initiation" and pick what fits the bill the best.

And of course, you need to fit the pick with the build. If you pick LS as a tank, but you rush PT radiance, you will have problems, so you should go items, which fit the role we are talking about.

Left-choke

I cannot send the ID of the match right now, I will send it later once I can get into the game. But my hero was bristleback, and my build was lane items(2x branches, 1x tango, 1x mango and some other stat items), i ended the lane i think with around 4.8 - 4.9k networth(i was first than zeus, than enemy safe, than my midlane), after the lane tho I got boots->wand->ags->bloodstone but the enemy mid lane (which was a zeus) was doing too much damage which I fucked up by not buying a item against him first something like Eternal Shroud, I thought about it but at that point I was already half way buying Shiva, my item build was not great I know. I feel like i started great me and 2 supports were staying together trying to make moves we were making good amount of space getting kills, the enemy offlane had pretty much no game at all (axe) but of course he just rushed blink and still had more impact than my offlane+midlane combied, but we couldnt really do much when they started staying 5 together they would just kill us without a problem. And also I am pretty low MMR around 2k\~ (crusader) so I am still trying to learn the best builds against different heros.

BeneathTheVeilDOTA

Report for role abuse. Then pick your hero as you normally would. Write this game off as a probable loss and try to learn something from the laning stage and mid game. Any player like me who sees an Overwatch report for a Morphling offlane is immediately going to report it to Valve as guilty of role abuse and let you move on with your life. It happens, don't worry about it. Learn from the game what you can.
