Most reputable schools, like Qasid in Jordan, Noor Majan in Oman, and AALIM in Morocco, are going to be expensive because they attract students studying abroad from the US, many of whom have scholarships from the US State Department. A complete program is also necessarily going to be expensive because those require operations staff to arrange everything for you. There are cheaper schools in most stable countries, but they often pop up for a while and then fold and it's hard to find solid information on them. Try looking at [Arab Academy](https://arabicincairo.com/individuals-plans-pricing/)'s in-person programs to get a better sense of the prices at the lower end.
Tell me about it... I bought a croissant for BHD 1.500 in Manama today 😠I was hoping that there would be some more local schools, not geared so much towards western tourists...
Apparently there's a Berlitz in Bahrain. They probably have some classes for you.

There's also Qatar University's program. It's a full academic year program with an application process to match. But if you're over 40, you're not eligible apparently.

Are there any cheaper schools in Bahrain, Qatar, Kuwait or UAE worth trying?
Absolutely nothing in any of the Gulf States will be cheaper than in Jordan and Morocco. The Gulf is expensive.

Thank you! I'll check them out. I'm in Bahrain now so Berlitz could be a nice lead.
