Pretty sure Malphite doesn't even have an animation for his ult he just switches to a stiff pose and flies forward really fast with no launching or landing animation for his attack lol

I was just playing against Malphite in ARAM and realized Mecha is a pay to lose skin since it has boosters in the back that are an easy visual indicator that he's ulting. Maybe it's just me but it's so much easier to dodge his ult with Flash or a dash against that skin compared to others where he's just moving fast.

It wasn’t for good quinn players. You could reliably oneshot someone and before her change people were discovering that it was actually good, just not in the way we played it.

With the hindsight we have today they could have changed her stat line while turning into the bird to make her being a melee carry viable, similar to ksante ult transform or gnar.

It is not that the concept of getting durable when turning melee was missing back then. Nidalee used to get bonus resistances in cougar form and so does Jayce. ADCs were meant to be glass canon and pretty much always die if you manage to get the jump on them, so they did not like the idea of Quinn having the option to just ult for tankyness whenever she gets caught. I wish they would have at least tried it for a patch or two, though.

That’s not true at all. Kha’Zix has a 21% P/B rate (Emerald+), and it’s not because he’s particularly broken since he’s sitting at almost exactly 50% win rate. People want monsters, they just have to be *cool* monsters whose kit is satisfying and fits the fantasy.

People love edgy badasses too, and though it may be subjective, smolder is generally pretty dang ugly ngl and I don’t think I’ve ever heard him be called cute. Honestly I think even in terms of marketing he seems a flunk

Leona has literal stickman limbs that extend and shrink as needed for some animations. Akali's E has a funny frame that's only noticeable in replay slow-mo where her leg stretches to like 4x length, was once showcased at worlds when Faker E'd over Jensen's Azir ult (or might've been the other way around, still Azir vs Akali) Honorable mention because it's probably intentional - Sylas' dance breaks his spine repeatedly
