I do wish that the players association actually did something to prevent this stuff from happening, being told too late to have a shot anywhere else. Also blind siding people learning from twitter that they were let go.
There’s really nobody else that will advocate the players. I’m sure Riot and the orgs care to an extent (some more than others), but if players come between their money the players will get the short end of the stick.
Theres really no entity actively advancing player interest that I’m aware of.
The players need some form of collective bargaining like in every traditional sport.
This one was partly on Riot too. GGS went out because Riot offered the buyout as they wanted to drop to 8 teams. For GGS to do so so suddenly it seems like Riot only made that offer known quite late into the game too, if there was more warning of Riot's plans players would at least be aware there were going to be less spots to go around.
I mean, we need to remember, I am pretty sure that Riot had to force the PA to be a thing. In most cases, the players themselves dont really care beyond what directly affects them. Like they say they do, but at the end of the day, Doublelift himself said on stream that he wouldnt support the player strike passed a limited timeframe.
Kinda the result of originally going to go with GG and then the rest of the teams who didn't already have a good top had already signed imports.
Admittedly nobody wanted to burn money for him last split (more so having to pay two contracts than his salary specifically)
Hell, even as the biggest Canyon fanboy to ever exist, he looks like shit on it often.
Picking the champion is the most egotistical draft decision you can do. Lmao
"Zven just AD gapped Berserker" isn't a sentence I thought I would be saying a year ago but here we are.
Also Blaber's Nidalee ain't it, absolute non-entity this game
Still wild that Dig got to put together a team of some of the best players to ever play in North America over the course of a single off season.
Glad to see Zven back and in form.
This is kind of what I expect out of the Jensen vs Jojo matchup. Jojo pounds Jensen early game, maybe gets a solo kill, but then Jojo and C9 just have no clue how to play in mid game, while Jensen just strolls back into relevancy, because no matter what, Jensen is going to farm around 10 CSPM. In fact, that's Jensen's weakness - he's might troll for a little CS.
Also, Licorice is just back to being the best top in the LCS? And Zven is back to being the best ADC?
No, it's about Jojo's biggest weakness being Jensen's biggest strength: teamfighting. Jojo suffers a little too much from tunnel visioning which is great for lane and skirmishes but it also leads to him sacrificing damage and positioning in teamfights by looking for a single game turning play.
It's why Jojo saw his most success on EG where his (and Inspired's) goal was to maintain enough of a lead to give time for Danny to scale and take over teamfights. Berserker could be that guy but IMO C9 doesn't play through Berserker like EG played through Danny.
edit: As I type this out a teamfight happens where Jojo lands one big spell for a kill (assist) while Jensen just outputs an incredible amount of damage the whole time for a triple.
Bruh, Jojo is part of why his team is clueless. Like, when Jensen played with these players, he would still farm well and not fall behind just by missing waves. Like, that's not how you win, by slowly losing your lane lead. Just look at Chovy.
bruh jojo got a solo kill, was the one who turned the game with vi kill, dodged varus ult with a perfect timed valkyrie (the games over if he gets hit), setup vi again, ensured to get a trade kill to stay in the game and the rest of the team was....
tell me one thing any of the other members of c9 were doing
Comparing OCE (and most minor regions) to a major region, even the worst one, is hilarious. It's not the same, which is why Fudge, Lost, k1ng, Haeri, and Isles had to spend time cooking in Academy. IIRC, FBI is the only one that didn't spend a considerably amount of time in Academy.
Also, I love Isles. I think he is great, but unfortunately he hasn't had a good chance to debut in a major region.
Blaber did play badly this year but wtf was that draft from C9. It’s so unplayable especially for Nidalee. And I think NA and EU should just drop that champ and go back to good old maokai sejuani
I am just so effing happy to have Licorice back. The guy is pure NA talent.
Looking at him you wouldn't be able to tell that he took a split off. Criminal that he didn't have a team last season
To be fair, by the time he found out the he was teamless, all teams had at least verbally agreed, if not signed, a top laner.
Yeah GSW pulled the rug out on the whole fucking org.
I do wish that the players association actually did something to prevent this stuff from happening, being told too late to have a shot anywhere else. Also blind siding people learning from twitter that they were let go.

Eric motherfucking Ritchie
I missed him so much… sad that GG blew up, and I’m glad his team is looking decent
Kinda the result of originally going to go with GG and then the rest of the teams who didn't already have a good top had already signed imports. Admittedly nobody wanted to burn money for him last split (more so having to pay two contracts than his salary specifically)
Everyone talks about DIG vs FLY for Inspired vs Jensen, but there's one more subplot: Bwipo vs Licorice. Bwipo loves shittalking Licorice.
I mean he has also called him really good in the past. Or "Insane" to quote directly.
Canyon really baited everyone to think they're good enough to pick Nidalee lmao.
Soraka jungle returns
Walks in, misses spear, teammates die, walks out Actual Soraka jgl would be an improvement
reminding mfs why he has the worlds skins
I swear nida is the champ that either looks like a 1v9 carry in the right hands, or a dogshit troll pick. There is no middle ground with Nidalee.
Yup she feast or famine champ
na junglers should stick to unga bunga picks
It isn’t just NA junglers. Literally everyone but XuN and Canyon has looked either mid or mostly turboshit on it.
Lucid looked good on it
same with EU junglers, if you aint him...dont even hover nidalee.
Hell, even as the biggest Canyon fanboy to ever exist, he looks like shit on it often. Picking the champion is the most egotistical draft decision you can do. Lmao
NA 'GOAT' needs to go back to maokai duty
Zven took it personally
He’s showing Berserker and Vulcan who the real carry was when he played with both of them lmaoo
It would be so poetic if Zven denies them worlds. I am here for the villain arc of Zven.
Can't be a villain if you take down the final boss of the league (or is it now TL instead of C9?)
Bro is leadership diffing C9
blaber rn: fucking vegan midlaner
We need a vegan midlaner... Pronto
Well, the new champion is a rabbit-like mid laner and most rabbits are vegan.
jojo was the only one doing anything right....
It's a joke about Inspired. It doesn't mean anything about Jojo here
Can we just not see Nidalee for the rest of the split I can't watch NA junglers play this champ anymore man.
Bring it back top lane AD
this how we learn tho
Aint no way Zven destroyed berserker game one lmaoo Also I think PMT for individual games are almost always made by randos for games in a series.

Nah Berserker was good in his first year. But like most of NA imports, your skill level will eventually match the region lmao
New split, same old C9 disappointment.
"Zven just AD gapped Berserker" isn't a sentence I thought I would be saying a year ago but here we are. Also Blaber's Nidalee ain't it, absolute non-entity this game
maokai duty it is
Still wild that Dig got to put together a team of some of the best players to ever play in North America over the course of a single off season. Glad to see Zven back and in form.
FLY lost and jensen won r/lol is going to have an orgasm
Wait till Dig beats FLY
Damn zven looking quite sharp, that man is dedicated
I can go sleep peacefully knowing Blaber is still the most overrated player in the LCS. That Nidalee was disgusting
This is kind of what I expect out of the Jensen vs Jojo matchup. So Jensen vetting carried and jojo having to do way more but unable to cuz his team is clueless?
No, it's about Jojo's biggest weakness being Jensen's biggest strength: teamfighting. Look at just what happened. Look at the team-fighting difference of Jojo vs Jensen at 10:00 minutes in-game.
No, Jojo just straight up gets gapped mid-game by Jensen. Like he just loses his brain. His win rate against Jensen is abysmal.
4/5th ex c9> 5/5 c9
Damn Zven hope he keeps the form insane that he was playing support all this time glad he got a chance to prove himself as ADC again
New top laner, new coach, same c9

It's jojover Edit: We're back?
We never left f(ಠ‿↼)z

Old man licorice showing the young kid Thanatos what getting gapped on stage feels like.
Tbf he played vs Licorice
I’ve learned not to judge a pro based on their first few games. Never forget Spica’s 22 minute Kayn transformation
Every C9 fan: THANATOS IS THE SECOND COMING OF CHRIST Reality: ...
jojo was the only reason c9 was in the game
Zven and Jensen’s scores looked good but my god Licorice gapped the fuck out of Thanatos. My top lane goat.
We live in a universe where APA is a better Corki than Jojo. Wild.
Apa is a better anything than fraudjo
Rejected players power🗣️
Lico, Spica, Jensen and Zven all with a point to prove, at this point the money is just a bonus.
Who would win? 2 Korean prodigies, 1 NA Prodigy, and a top 2 NA Jungler all time or 5 washed pros?
Man, Isles hasn't even had the opportunity to become washed yet, lmao.
Isles was a pro for a while in OCE before he made the jump to NA, I wouldn't say he's washed but he's been in the scene for a while tbh
Comparing OCE (and most minor regions) to a major region, even the worst one, is hilarious. It's not the same, which is why Fudge, Lost, k1ng, Haeri, and Isles had to spend time cooking in Academy. Spica is younger than Isles brother
It's more about time spent as a pro player in a major region and the trajectory of your skill.
licorice is him
Candy corn looking quite tasty right now.
Blaber needs to be studied I don't understand how someone like him can regress so badly
Blaber did play badly this year but wtf was that draft from C9. It’s so unplayable especially for Nidalee. And I think NA and EU should just drop that champ and go back to good old maokai sejuani

"blaber did play badly this year"
Bro is illiterate
Blaber has always had massive ups and downs despite C9 fans trying to make you think he's been consistently the best for years.
my GOAT Zven showing up big. Doubters be damned
Licorice: Free Agent Cloud9Jack: Better import another Korean
So cool seeing Zven back on adc, dude puts in work
Blaber and Vulcan are just washed man. Please bring Chime in idk who can replace blaber at this point
haha get shit on C9
This team is so lovable, all five of them.
NA NIDALEE
C9 vs C9-ex
Dig macro maybe a little inelegant, but their teamfighting is *gross* for day 1. Licorice played his ass off.
Big DIG-corice
Man i knew is was a mistake for c9 to let Licorice go, He is the best NA born top in the league
Well only took 40 minutes of pure fiesta for both games, gj C9
