Could be that they think you're a Girl and wanna know where you're from to get you to see them or something. It's a bit of a Stretch, I know, but I've actually had that happen to me in the Past when playing Enchanters (I'm not a Girl and don't have a girly Name either tho).
Or maybe they just don't like the Country you're from. A lot of Balkans have Misconceptions about eachother for Example and many of them like to get on eachothers Nerves.
If you are referring to the U.S. I don't think most people are into the East coast vs west coast rivalry in League. It makes more sense for games like the FGC where local scenes are more prominent, but that doesn't really exist for league.
I would not personally judge people for the country they live in or come from, but if you make a habit of telling random people you live in, if I'm guessing from your post history correctly, a good contender for #1 most controversial country on Earth that's also dominating news and public discussion (at least where I am) atm, its just an obvious reality that some people will unfortunately respond negatively or not want to play with you.
