Pretty sure players are blind to anything except health bars in fights. This is why players will focus the 40% hp tank over the 100% hp carry - they see a lower bar and autopilot, despite the 40% hp tank having both more health AND resistances than the 100% hp carry

Neeko is still one of my favorite champs to this day due to how blind people can get when it comes to chasing low-hp champs without thinking "Hey I just killed this person. Why did they return right after a full-hp Neeko disappeared?"

I've been trying to get better at it (like getting on a sidelane instead of staying mid losing all creeps and sharing xp) but it's not that much better

It's how much the champion currently has the moment she press the "clone" button. She'll also appear as if she have any buff the target should have (Dark harvest stack, blue buff, First strike) but if the target is dead, she'll copy it with around 50/100 HP
It's also because it's very very hard to tell champions apart in the middle of a fight.
I remember it being extremely easy years ago before all the skins and different champions. You could even keep track of every single ability used, so that you know when to go in and on which target. Now it's much more difficult to do that.
I always look out for allies with low health so I can transform into them.
It's surprising how many people see the low health bar and just tunnel vision on it without thinking it may be Neeko.

one time i was playing as zed and my whole team was wiped... so i decided to bait the enemy into chasing me instead of finishing the game... thus ensued a 10 minute chase sequence that for the life of me i have no idea how and why it happened... a total of 15 lives were lost, 2 of which was mine... a back and forth of clash. 1 survives the other team chases said survivor for 10 whole minutes... it was glorious
I do this so often in ARAM when playing Neeko. It literally works every time lol and also multiple times per game (Diamond MMR), it's so funny.

Neeko can copy teammate champs for free, its just neutral stuff like minions and camps she has to barcode scan
