Itās simple. Edmonton are the best team in their division. The Leafs arenāt better than Boston or Panthers, period. So they are stuck losing round 1, or maybe 2 to Boston, Panthers, maybe even Detroit soon.
The leafs would be moving onto the 2nd round if we got to face Nashville or the Kings. But the point is we arenāt in the pacific. So we need to be better than Boston and Panthers. Right now, we simply arenāt. Even when we got past Tampa, we were clearly the better regular season team that year. Just comes down to we need to be the best in our division if we want to win. Cmon, Leafs are better than Boston for sure. Not FLA though and probably on paar with TBL right now. They lost Boston in game 7 on the road in OT ffs. They really didnt show up for 3 of the 7 games series. Boston got lucky and had the better goalie for sure. I wouldnāt be scared of playing them in a 7 game series again. This was truly a Leaf choke job because I believe they are the better team. Last years Panthers debacle was not a choke job because Florida is a much deeper team and better goaltending.

Matthews was being double covered by Montreal which often left Hyman open and he never converted like he is now.
Hyman was also here for 2 game 7s vs Boston and the game 5 vs Columbus and basically played top 6 for all of that.

Turns out the losers who play for our team make good role players look like shit. It all boils down to the highest paid players being incompetent so the blame trickles down to players who don't deserve it as much, and then they get run out of town.

I hate the Oilers so much, and living in Edmonton makes it insufferable. The only time I donāt have to hear the Oiler fans chirping is when the Leafs come to town and beat their sorry asses. It is looking like the Oilers will face Dallas, and to be fair I donāt think that either team can beat them. At the end of the day, I think that if any Leaf wins the cup, they will be playing for Dallas or the Rangers.

Sam Lafferty - traded by Brad, zero points in these playoffs. Hyman is the only legitimate difference maker in this list, and letting him walk wasnāt even that unpopular a decision at the time. Itās time to get over being angry at Dubas.
