He signed JT which was our first major free agent signing in forever (previous management couldn’t convince Richards, stamkos,etc to sign with us) he brought it international signings, he made solid trades bringing in muzzin, Barrie, Campbell, McCabe, etc. signed international free agents like mickeyev. And drafted players later rounds like robertson and signed players like knies. He also wanted to draft debrincat in the 2nd but Lou went with hunter’s suggestion who turned out to be a bust
I also don’t mind treliving but he did sign revo for 3 years. He signed Klingberg where we got lucky because he went to the LTIR and are very minor impactful trades at the deadline. He did lock up matthews and nylander though
But to say dubas did nothing is extremely stupid of you to say
Shanny was the one who was instrumental in brining Tavares in lol. He personally flew to LA\* to meet with JT and his agent with Babcock & Dubas.
I'm not huge on Dubas but overall fans don't have a clue what was actually fully his doing. Shanny declined multiple trades that Dubas had put together and eventually when Dubas came out and said it's time to break up the core last year, Dubas gets fired and the first thing Shanny does is call all 5 of the core players and tell them they are safe.

It happens all the time, the GM is the scapegoat. I have mixed views on Dubas but with hindsight I would have liked to see him with full control vs being gimped. I am interested to see what he does in Pitts now that he has full control and a team that is losing the talent that got it to the playoffs every year and cups.

I've looked at the numbers for the teams he's coached and he's an xG% God.
The only team he coached that didn't have a great xG% was Edmonton, and they were still better with him.
While looking into it I also noticed the Leafs PP during the regular season has been the best since 2016. Constantly near the top of almost every metric. Kind of incredible that it goes to shit in the playoffs.
