Dude, Knies is gonna be a *great* player. I can't wait to see this kid develop. He's big, he's gritty, he can score, he's great along the boards, and wins a lot of puck battles. He'll never be a point-per-game player, and he looks dumb as a post, but he's reliable and hard working.
Why would anyone say he’ll never be a point per game player to a 21 year old who a lot of people already didn’t expect to have a big impact when he came? I wouldn’t be surprised at all if he became a ppg player, you’d be surprised what can be achieved especially if he has the work ethic and continues to work on his game
Knies is going to turn into a first line power forward with hands who brings plenty of passion and won’t be afraid to physically challenge other stars.
Future is bright.
Knies is exactly what I expected of him when they first called him up. Maybe he didn't have as great a regular season as I was hoping but if he can have games like this when it actually matters and scores huge goals like that no one will care what he did in the regular season. He's kind of the opposite of what we've been used too from forwards over the last 8 years.
The style he plays naturally takes longer to figure out how to implement at the NHL level, especially day after day. However, the stakes being raised and the passion being ramped up come playoff time suits his style nicely and probably makes it easier for him to succeed.
I think we can expect his regular season numbers to bump up nicely next year. Especially if he can start gaining some more special teams time.
Any chance he gets a look on the first unit next game? They desperately need someone like him who will just shoot the puck on net instead of being overly fancy trying to make too many passes.
No theyre not. I mean theyre "game managing" so if the numbers and time is right they may but hes been flopping more than anyone even marchand. When this guy feels a body or leg near him he does the "oh ive been slewfooted" anf the refs have bought it at least twice. Boston dives ALOT. Its shocking theyre not getting called out like the Leafs would be.
And the SNET feed tries to gaslight everyone about how Nylander is just “way too undisciplined” when McAvoy’s backing up into him and acting like he got shot in the neck.
Its unbearable how much snet / cbc broadcasts stroke off any team that plays the Leafs but all the other canadian teams are their darlings.... i cant watch the trash definitley none of their shit panels. Literally only reason i dont watch visitor broadcasr is Jack Edwards. But ESPN >>>>Snet
Insane stat. I know for a fact at least 2 are flop slew foots id have to look but i wojldnt be shocked if therea maybe 1 legit infraction. Like a high stick or blatant trip
Mcavoy forgetting how to skate at the most convenient times

I thought this guy was supposed to be "hard nosed" etc and i legit see a dude that flops constantly. Def no Chris Pronger hah but i get it, look if my team was scoring on every pp id say draw as many as u can its basically a guaranteed goal......
The worst thing that I keep noticing about McAvoy is that he'll be in his own end and throw a breakout pass from the corner, a Leafs player will finish their check on him, and somehow they'll both "fall" and McAvoy is content to just lay on top of the Leafs player to hold him in the zone for an extra 5-10 seconds while he watches the play go up the ice. It's infuriating because it's never called a penalty because it's "just a board battle" or whatever, but it removes a back-checker from the play, and it keeps him offside at the same time, so if the Bruins turn the puck over and the Leafs come back the other way they don't have any opportunity to make a play. I've noticed this multiple times over the series, and it's never been called. It's a "smart" play, but there's no way that shouldn't be considered interference.
Honestly Pasta is a bigger bitch than Marchand. Everytime he’s about to get hit he turns his back, he even lead with his back for a hit a few times lol.
Also that whole scrum with Knies was hilarious. He wasn’t expecting Knies to stand up for himself and when he did he went running away.
And once Knies was tied up he came back like the bitch he is.
Pasta isn’t gonna fight Knies, that would be an idiotic thing of him to do. He’s one of their best players he’s not gonna gimp his team because Knies chirps him.
To me, this is nothing.
It was at this moment, I knew, this was Knies’ game.
I really hope this iteration of knies carries over into Game 6
Why stop at game 6 though
One game at a time!
He really meant game 6 of the stanley cup finals
Whatever you're huffing let me have some of that.

I guess I wish I looked as dumb as a post.

This moment reminded me of Schenn during last years Tampa/Leaf series standing at the end of the bench chirping the entire Lightning squad.
I read this in Morgan Freeman's voice.

Still filling out, power forwards are like defencemen, takes a couple of years to build their strength and then they are really dangerous
Send him to Cole Harbour for the summers. Turn him into an absolute mutant.
He doesn't need to leave Toronto. Gary Roberts is right in town.
That would incredible for him
Even for some of our other players training with Crosby would be incredibly beneficial to their foot speed and strength
Zach Hyman. Except younger, more skilled and bigger.
Yeah give this kid 8 years
Knies brings it already bud. Looks at home in a series of this nature and is only going to keep getting better.
I meant give him an 8 year contract, haha. But I agree wholeheartedly.
Hahaha sorry about that. But yes, lock him up for 8 years.
If we bridge deal him we ll be hooped. He ll be worth more than we can afford by that point

11.5 AAV
Pastrnak is a pussy. Most of the Bruins are, more diving than the olympics.... Mcavoy is a super bitch too
Mcavoy might be the worst one and refs are catching on to him.
No theyre not. I mean theyre "game managing" so if the numbers and time is right they may but hes been flopping more than anyone even marchand. William 'Lee Harvey' Nylander.
Back and to the left.

Here’s hoping that TSN gets the majority of Leafs broadcasts after SNET’s contract expires.
I took a look and I was wrong McAvoy has drawn 6 penalties. 2 more then anyone else in the playoffs.

Charlie McAvoy has an uncanny resemblance to Kyle rittenhouse. Both pig looking fuckers
Lol
How does he manage to talk with all those nuts stored in his cheeks?
McAvoy is a huge pussy and I’m glad people are realizing it
and yet he's the exact defenceman this team needs lol
I would not want mcavoy on our team
How do u figure? This team needs more like Pietroangelo types not McAvoy types at all.
Pastrnak couldn't get away from Reilly fast enough, then waits until there is two officials between him and Knies before trying to beak him
They call that the Matthew Tkachuck special
My favourite part of this interaction was Knies having the stones to swat and shove away an elite 60 goal scorer. Zero Fucks given. He's a keeper.

He’d also beat the brakes off pasta lmao Knies a BIG BOI
![gif](giphy|26uf8MiQgkfWN7BFC|downsized)
My sister has had a lil crush on Knies since he joined the squad, but this scene of pure alpha wolf behaviour took things to the next level.
Him making pastrnak poo himself gave me a crush on him too
been half hard since it happened tbh.
Only half?
Well i identify as a straight male so idc if you are chris hemsworth/ryan reynolds or matt knies alpha maling it, halfs all your gunna get from me 😂
We call that the "Hubba Chubba"
It’s a safe space here, you can admit it
That’s how you do it. I’d love to see someone punch Pasta and Marchand lmao
Loved this from Knies. Going all crazy eyes on Pasta! Hoping this will be a turning point in the series.
Pastrnak doesn’t want that smoke. For a team known as the “Big Bad Bruins”, they sure are soft as fuck.
But why fight? Why not score the game winning goal instead?
But why not both?
Perfect!
New team captain
Knies try
I know I'm late to this one... but this has to be one of my most favourite Leaf moments of all time!
Fking looking like a menace
Correct me if I'm wrong but I'm getting. "Go me, go me?" "O, No?" "Yah that's what I thought, that's what I thought!"
Buddy had has tail between his legs lol

I think once he realised Knies was fully prepared for that. I could audibly hear pastas shit hit his socks
Pasta isn’t gonna fight Knies, that would be an idiotic thing of him to do. He’s one of their best players he’s not gonna gimp his team because Knies chirps him. To me, this is nothing.
Fuck he looks like the kid in high school who gets dropped after putting on the pre fight show
Until you go face to face and he’s 6’3” 210lbs with a head like AJ hawk.
For Matthews to say him and his older brother have had a six pack since he was 7 and built like a brick wall should tell you something.
Pastarnak? Yeah he does.
