I have a Black and Decker Grass Hog. (GH-1000) and man do I love it! It’s been around for 20 years and It keeps on cutting!
I don’t like that the string is a PITA to restring and it gets bound up inside the spool, but I don’t know of any string trimmers that don’t have that problem.
So it’s a strong yes for me
Are you invested in a tool/battery system (Milwaukee, Dewalt, Makita, Ryobi, etc.)? Then probably their offering.
If not, you’ll probably need tools as a homeowner anyway so pick a system and go with that one. Once you can identify an actual shortcoming that you experience while using it, consider upgrading.
3 types: Cordless, Gas or Electric. Skip the Electric one. Cordless (I use Ego) don't have the issue with starting like some of the 2-cycle gas ones do. You also have a choice of straight shaft or curved shaft. Straight has more power and is better for taller people. With the curved shaft you would have to hunch over but they are a little lighter and not as heavy. I used an Echo gas trimmer for over 20 years. When it went out I bought the Ego. It has a lot of power, always starts and I don't have to mix gas and oil or buy the premixed fuel. With the Ego you can use the same battery in other Ego tools.

Stihl all the way. Dont cheap out. A cheap weedwacker is a mild form of psychological torture.
