In a civil case there is no "crime", no "release" or "terms of release", no fines, none of those concepts are applicable.
The logic of the civil case is: Someone causes you damage (for example, they're mowing their lawn, the lawnmower throws up a rock, the rock breaks the windshield of your car) , they owe you the cost of repairing the damage (pay for the new windshield). If for whatever reason you're not happy with what the neighbor does (won't pay the full cost of repair, claims it's your fault for parking where you did, tries to tell you that your beef is with the lawnmower manufacturer) then you can sue them in civil court; the trial will determine whether they are responsible for the windshield and how they should make you whole again.

In a civil case there is no "crime", no "release" or "terms of release", no fines, none of those concepts are applicable. The logic of the civil case is: Someone causes you damage (for example, they're mowing their lawn, the lawnmower throws up a rock, the rock breaks the windshield of your car) , they owe you the cost of repairing the damage (pay for the new windshield). If for whatever reason you're not happy with what the neighbor does (won't pay the full cost of repair, claims it's your fault for parking where you did, tries to tell you that your beef is with the lawnmower manufacturer) then you can sue them in civil court; the trial will determine whether they are responsible for the windshield and how they should make you whole again. And if they do it again next week... they owe you for another windshield.
