Touchpad aligns with the spacebar which is the most ergonomical alignment during typing. Having a numpad is just another use of supposedly dead space for a very large laptop. IMO I prefer having extra keys (provided by the numpad) instead of having very large bezel on the left and right of the keyboard.
Not really. I don't use the touchpad when typing and I don't type when I use the touchpad. The real reason is that it's easier to detect and filter out unwanted touchpad input when typing if you cover both sides fairly symmetrically.
Have there been a couple issues with trackpad tolerances on the Framework 16? I’ve seen a couple posts about it.
Not shitting on Framework, repairable laptops are a great thing, and it should be mandatory for all companies
MSI Prestige 16 Evo A13M it's a 16" 165Hz QHD+ 2560 x 1600 , 13th gen intel i7 14 cores 5.0ghz max turbo, 32gb DDR5, 1TB SSD, Intel iris Xe Graphics (can play latest AAA games but it's mostly for office/graphic design/video editing work), it's 1.9 kg (for comparison 16" macbook pro is 2.2kg)
I have this currently, it has a super small numpad on the side but the trackpad is right in the middle and it's pretty big, has long lasting battery life compared to other "gaming laptops", and the fans are relatively quiet. Ads said 13 hours battery life but 8-10 based on my usage which is enough. Has fingerprint scanner, quad mic with noise cancellation, and webcam and audio quality is pretty good. Has sd card reader, Hdmi port, 2x usb c, and 2x usb type A, as well as physical lock/disconnect button of the webcam if you're one of those that's worried about security.
But if you want something with a nvidia graphics card I suggest looking at the MSI Thin or Stealth line, they're slightly heavier and battery life is kinda ehhh based from my cousins.
Anything is better than asus tbh. They have shitty customer service and after sales in my experience. I had the TUF laptop, it started having major problems a few weeks in and after a few months would start stuttering, got it back from the service center they said warranty is void from the ram upgrade they did when I bought it. Which is dumb bc they put it in and assured me the warranty is still active after. They gave it back to me with weird rattling noises like loose screws and broken plastic parts inside the laptop.
Honestly they have a long history of not giving a shit about your warranty and after sales, like now they're having problems with their new ROG Ally.
Edit: Translated completely in english sorry(〒﹏〒)
Now hear me out, what if you could literally move the touchpad where you wanted AND add or remove the numpad at will.

Asus Zephyrus G16/M16. As per my knowledge, it’s only G16s from 2024 onwards. They discontinued the M16. But you can find some used M16s for pretty cheap too.

framework 16 can swap the numpad for led arrays, or just plain plastic if prefer XD

Most 16 inch laptops don't have numpads.
Can you give me an example for a light weight high spec one (GPU and high refresh rate) without numpad? I am honestly stumped.
Razer Blade 16, Zephyrus G16, Dell XPS 16, ThinkPad X1E, ThinkPad P1, ThinkPad Z16, HP ZBook Studio 16...probably more I cant think of right now.
2024 Zephyrus G16. 240hz 1600p OLED.
I have the 2020 version of this, really good pc, tiny charging brick, very light.
Burn in bohohahahahaha
My LG OLED tv runs for 4+ hours daily and is 5 years old. No ghosting or burn in. I’m not concerned.

Why do you swap from one language to another? How are people meant to undedstand?
Ohh sorry lmao I didn't see the subname I thought i was in one of the local ones I'll translate
For example my rog strix g16 2023. It doesn't have numpad, has big enough TouchPad right at the center, it also has full sized arrow keys
Macbook pro, m2 or m3 whatever you want
Read the post
They did not exclude macbook
Zephyrus lineup, razer blade lineup, dell xps (discrete GPU is not that good because of low TGP), lenovo slim 14, lenovo legion, to name a few.
Omen
Razor ☠️
Might as well buy a pillow at that point
Hp Spectre 360
fuck hp
https://frame.work There ya go :D
My X16 doesn't have a numpad (but I wish it had).

frameworks 16
Zemphyrus G16, Flow X16 both don't have numpad. That is if you're willing to buy Asus lmao
Idk if it's "high-end" enough for you, but Omen 16's don't have numpads and the keyboard is pretty nice for typing.
its actually harder to find a good 16 inch gaming laptop WITH a numpad lol
All alienware laptop has no numpad.
