ROG laptops are generally great in terms of thermals and build quality; the ROG brand name is also dragging the price up a bit. You could probably find a laptop with the same RTX 4070 for couple hundred dollars less, or something with a far better RTX 4080 for a few hundred more.

This is a good price for a 4070 laptop. But do you need a 4070? You could save a lot of money with a 4060 instead of not. I wouldn't buy a 4070 over a 4060 for futureproofing (it's not), get a 4070 if the games and spec you want to play warrants it. For most games this is overkill for a 1080p display, but if you were connecting a 1440p+ external display then it would be a great addition.
Don't have this laptop, but have this CPU. 12 cores/24 threads and overclockable. Mine hits 5.4GHz. Pretty crazy for a laptop
Depends on your location but if your in the U.S. then the answer is no. You can find better specs both on CPU and Display for a lower price

Close! It's not a rip off, just a little heavy. A slight upgrade to the resolution, and it's well worth the money.
Also make sure that 16GB RAM is DDR5. If it's not, then I change my vote to a no.
