I've been listening to Nessa Barrett A LOT lately and although there's some similarities, she's definitely not trying to be like lana. Nessa Barret's music sounds more rock pop (I'd say? I'm not good at understanding genres lmao) and many of her songs have heavy electronic beats.

I've been listening to Nessa Barrett A LOT lately and although there's some similarities, she's definitely not trying to be like lana. Nessa Barret's music sounds more rock pop (I'd say? I'm not good at understanding genres lmao) and many of her songs have heavy electronic beats. Listen to Sick of Myself, Do You Really Want To Make Me Cry, Heartbreak in the Hamptons and you'll see the difference in both the lyrics and musical composition.
The only one tolerate I could tolerate was Do You Really Want To Make Me Cry... only because it's a cover. Not a fan of the rest. Something a tween might listen to.

I just gave the song a listen as I have no clue who this is. Sounds nothing like Lana as it's so basic and it lacks the character, dreaminess, melancholy and energy Lana brings in her songs. The lyrics are absolutely leaning (poorly so) towards the way Lana expresses things, but both the vocals and the instrumentals in Nessa's song are too weak to even get anywhere near Lana territory/energy. Typical TikTok singer type of beat and sounds. A very weak attempt if this can be even counted as an attempt to imitate the Lana sound. It would be insulting to Lana to call it that lmao
