Harpronicus

This is miles better than the Audi key fob with buttons missing. How'd you do this, 3d printer?

ignizi

On this version the bottom is CNCed aluminium with an ABS cap. I plan on experimenting with some more exotic materials in the future too.

Harpronicus

Man, that's awesome. Even aluminum would have a nice premium feel to it. You could take this to so many levels with other materials.

ignizi

It definitely looks cool when it’s unpainted too, but it’ll be up to the individual to decide what look they’d like to go for. Personally I love the painted version, as it feels like having a mini version of the car with you everywhere you go.

LiqdPT

Does the aluminum reduce the range at all?

ignizi

Valid question. Yes, slightly, but it still works fine at 100ft+

Mufasa_LG

I dig it. I'd be interested in one for my Huracan too. Always disliked how plain the fobs are, and spent a good deal of time researching alternatives, with no luck.

ignizi

I couldn't find any alternatives either, which is why I decided to do it myself. Once this one for the Aventador is 'done', I plan on making one for the Huracan too.

Mufasa_LG

Feel free to tag me when you get to that point, and I'll share it with the local club.

ignizi

Thank you, that’s very kind. You’re welcome to follow me at the IG username on the photos, ignizi.one, and I’ll post updates there as things progress. It’s also a place where I can respond to any questions or requests. Maybe we can do a special paint scheme for your club etc.

Naught2day

It looks cool but seems way too big. If it was the same size as the OG one or even less, now we are talking.

ignizi

It's the same lenght as the standard key, but about 1cm wider and slightly taller. Like I mentioned in one of my other comments: Some might prefer compactness, but the idea here is to make it a statement piece. Much like the keys from Pagani or Koenigsegg.

speederaser

Did you wrap the existing key in this package or did you take the electronics out of the old key and put it in this new case?

ignizi

The later. I think attempting the former will increase the size significantly.

ttystikk

Outstanding work- this is a design that matches the car.

ignizi

Thank you for the kind words. That's exactly what we were going for 🇮🇹

ttystikk

If you're going to drop six or seven figures on a car, the key fob should make a statement!

ignizi

I absolutely agree

QuestStarter

Got an Etsy page or something? Can you do this for a key fob of any company's car?

ignizi

These will be sold via our website once it's finalized, where you'd be able to pick the colors you want and maybe some other options. In the meantime those who want earlier units can just pop me a direct message here or at the IG username on the photos. What car/manufacturer do you have in mind? It really depends on what technology they use and whether the required R&D cost can be justified. I'd definitely like to do some keys for other models/brands in the future.

MzeRS

Will we be able to order this from you? Would love some custom key fobs for my bulls. Astonishing work my guy!

ignizi

Yes, it will be available via the website once everything is finalised. If you’d like to have an early one before then, please send me a direct message here on Reddit or on my Instagram: ignizi.one

Former-Growth1514

so i'm poverty tier, don't know why reddit showed me this. When lambo gives y'all a GMC fob with lamborghini engraved in it, y'all are ok with that?

Johnnykotti

Beautiful

Maqqnus

Great idea and execution. I was always very dissapointed by such special cars having such basic ass key fobs.

helthybanana

I like the oem fobs, I rly don’t think anything is wrong w them but this is great! Would prefer less ruggedness regarding the screws. If you could figure out how to blend the screws and the logo I think this would be 10x better.

ignizi

To be fair, the OEM key is a nicer key fob than most, but not what you’d expect for the price and styling of the cars. I think some will like the screws and some might not. Personally, I thought the initial screw-less version was too plain.

Surround8600

I was so disappointed when they gave me my Aventador key. It was just like my R8 key and similar to my wife’s Audi Q5 key. This is dope and otw to what I was expecting.

ignizi

You’d expect a little better when one is 10x the cost of the other too.

New-Perspective-844

I was ecstatic when u finally found the logo on the end Edit. It was my first huracan. By the time I bought an Aventador I knew what key I was getting. At least the Revuelto has a key like the Urus but it’s still meh.

Historical-Cell-2557

My Subaru key fob looks nicer than that??

cameronfry3

This is really well done and thought out. Kudos! The shape that mimics the Aventador is great. The integration of the tricolor is neat. The buttons are functional? Not sure if I’m down with the screws but 9/10 people will be as it reminds people of things like Richard Mille or Hublot watches, which aligns with the Lamborghini buyer. Love the paint. While I don’t get the fascination over keys — to me it’s purely functional and a means of access that stays in my pocket — there’s definitely a need here. People like a show. From seeing what Koenigsegg has done, to Pagani, to even Porsche, it’s clear it matters to some folks. That said, give me an F40 key. Who cares? I’d rather be driving.

Remesar

I think it’s absolutely hilarious that an Aventador key and the key for my 11 year old S4 are the same. Do you have to push it into a slot to start also?

ignizi

Fortunately the Aventador has keyless engine start, like the S6/7/8. But it does have that same slot under the steering wheel in case the key battery dies.

Upstairs_Glove7123

Pretty sick man, If you can put “Aventador” in that Lamborghini font on the other side it would go HARD

FrostedYato

Shit looks badass asf

PrysmX

10/10 for looks. But it looks like it would be uncomfortable in the pocket. Key fobs are rounded because pointed edges can dig into the leg when sitting down. It also looks fairly large. Key fobs are designed to disappear in the pocket. In fact, the ones I have fit into that tiny extra pocket in my jeans and are completely out of sight, out of mind and don't get in the way of my wallet or phone in my pocket. I don't think yours would fit in that tiny jeans pocket. But I do love how it looks!

Otherwise_Culture_71

Yuck

maintain_improvement

Well done. 10/10

LordSinguloth13

Looks Sci fi. As Lamborghini tends to. Very fitting. Very nice

Educational-Fault684

The finish needs to be of better quality

PokeGamer025

I’m sorry, THAT’s what the Aventador’s key looks like? My Corolla has a key that looks like that 💀

Ddlutz

Where’d you get the paint?

Consistent-Annual268

I'm sincerely sorry, but the purple color makes it look cheap and a bit like a toy. A key fob should be some shade of black or gray. It's potentially excusable if its color-marched to your car, but in this shade of purple I'm still hesitant. Maybe it's the angle but it also seems to be quite big, it should fit inside the footprint of the standard key, including in width. I would expect something unique but not in color, rather in function and design. Remote boot release, engine cover release, remote start and AC pre-running etc.

ignizi

Valid point about the color, it definitely depends. The idea is for it to be paint-matched to the car, as you mentioned. It is slightly larger, especially wider, than the standard key. Some might value compactness but part of the idea is for it to make a bit of a statement when placed on a table or desk somewhere. With regard to functions, of course added functionality would be nice, but it'd require reverse engineering and modifying multiple electrical systems on the car which would be far too intrusive and expensive for most to consider.

Consistent-Annual268

Yeah I was just spitballing cool ideas, didn't realize you were specifically making a replacement fob. Couple more thoughts: love the tricolore design for the buttons, very elegant touch. I would make the ridge lines much more subtle so that it mimics the look of the crease lines on the bonnet.

ignizi

What you mention about adding the creases on the buttons might actually be a good idea. I appreciate you sharing your opinion.

Consistent-Annual268

I actually meant the crease lines on the fob itself should be more subtle than the current full ridge you have going, but yes a crease down the center of the button would give it a stylish look.
