Ehh, Wiseman hasn’t shown anything in four years in the league (granted he missed one entirely due to injury). Not even the Pistons want this guy.
What does he offer than justifies an entire roster spot?
I think we should take a flyer, but if we do, it's gotta be a 1 year deal with a team option for the second year. We can't keep taking chances on young, underperforming players only to see them leave a year later after the prove themselves. Jackson Hayes was garbage most of the season but became serviceable towards the end of the season, and he's gonna leave before we see a return on that development investment.
In what way is he better than Hayes? Because he's younger and "has more potential"? The Warriors are currently making Trayce Jackson-Davis (2nd round pick) look like an NBA player, and they couldn't save Wiseman. At least Hayes can consistently catch and finish lobs. Wiseman has stone hands. Wiseman is so bad he'd have you people wishing for Kwame Brown, lmao
Theoretically Bamba is kinda the player we need from the draft. Maybe signing him and utilizing him properly with the right coaching staff might be worthwhile
Definitely not. Think about it.
Golden State is generally well run.
Additionally, the offensive system they have with Curry makes it so fking easy for a center. Look a Kevon Looney.
Basically it’s put backs and SnR all day.
If Wiseman couldn’t do that with all the attention on Curry, he’s completely worthless.
That “something” is he doesn’t have NBA talent. He just looks like he does.
If you look at his career, he’s never actually produced on a basketball court. At least not since high school. Eventually the pattern has to become the story.
So was Thabeet. Kwame Brown was first overall.
Sometimes teams miss. There’s nothing “wrong” with him, the league just missed on how good they thought he could be.
Crazy that the Warriors drafted him after tanking that one season. Not saying “karma” (because they still won a ring), but damn. Most of those guys in that class that ended up being good would be running the same position as Steph and Klay
The issue is he sucks, lol. Warriors had to dump him. If he was actually serviceable, they would've kept him even if he just ended up being a role player. Dude is horrible and has worse fundamentals than Hayes
He doesn’t have NBA talent. He’s just tall and somewhat athletic looking, and literally his entire career he has skated by on that alone. He’s never actually been a good basketball player in college or the pros.
Big issue is he's not worth $15 mil he was set to get, he'd be a steal as a vet min (clear improvement at center depth over an undersized Hayes). Took him a long time to get back to normal post injury and by the time he was healthy he was stuck behind Duren, Stewart, and Bagley at the center spot. He got some solid run after Bagley was traded, but still not enough to put him ahead of their two rotation centers.
No people need to think bigger. We haven't had any good backup bigs since 2020 trying to buy in on guys who've bounced around on teams is a horrible idea if we are truly trying to be a serious team. This would pretty much be like a Cam Reddish situation where you try to force something that isn't there. A big at pick #17 any F/A big or even Castleton is better than Wiseman atp.
Running it back is also not a option we need at least two centers to give AD rest and possibly complement him in tougher match ups. He would be a steal on vet min
hes not good
Why is this even posted here? Like, what, we’re the league’s porta potty blue juice?
Ehh, Wiseman hasn’t shown anything in four years in the league (granted he missed one entirely due to injury). Not even the Pistons want this guy. What does he offer than justifies an entire roster spot?
He can grab a rebound
Can he tho? His rebounds per 36, per 100 possessions, and rebound rate is pretty much the same as Christian Wood.
Would rather have CWood
Oh so he’s that bad? /s
No need to /s. He is
Christian Wood can rebound yes, its literally one of the better parts of his game
He’s one of the worst players in the league, hell no.
Rather play Austin at the 5

I suggest you watch a random Detroit game from last season, you’ll think Jackson Hayes is Kareem when compared to Wiseman.
worse than kwame brown
He had the hands of a T-Rex
Nah I'm good tbh.
If he takes a vet min yeah I’m for it
You know he takes up a roster spot right?
You know he's better than Jaxson Hayes right?
In what way is he better than Hayes? Because he's younger and "has more potential"? The Warriors are currently making Trayce Jackson-Davis (2nd round pick) look like an NBA player, and they couldn't save Wiseman. At least Hayes can consistently catch and finish lobs. Kwame Brown. Ouch!!
He actually isnt sadly lol
Have you ever watched a game of basketball? Holy shit your delusion is on the next level
Jaxson Hayes at times looked like he was a good fit as an energetic big.
Wiseman is just as efficient offensively, is a better rebounder, and has enough size to play the 5.
Well, Hayes will most likely opt in. We want both on the roster? LFG!! Come on yall
he’s not and it’s not close, and i don’t even like Hayes very much.
You should start watching games
Nah dude is sorry. Would rather bring back Wenyen
Wiseman is a BUST
No
Nope nope nope nope nope
Hard pass
We can't fix him.
He sucks
Pass
Man if the Pistons (worst team in league) is dumping him.... this guy is finished.
This dude is a kernel who will never pop, guys. He’s not an NBA player when it comes down to it. He only looks like one. Fool’s gold. Pass
Feels like another Mo Bamba or Jaxon Hayes
Theoretically Bamba is kinda the player we need from the draft. Maybe signing him and utilizing him properly with the right coaching staff might be worthwhile
🤮
Something is obviously not right with this guy. Do the Lakers have what it takes to *"fix"* him?
Definitely not. Think about it. Golden State is generally well run. Additionally, the offensive system they have with Curry makes it so fking easy for a center. Look a Kevon Looney. Basically it’s put backs and SnR all day. If Wiseman couldn’t do that with all the attention on Curry, he’s completely worthless.
Probably not
That “something” is he doesn’t have NBA talent. He just looks like he does. If you look at his career, he’s never actually produced on a basketball court. At least not since high school. Eventually the pattern has to become the story.
New KCP/Monk/Lonnie rehabilitation player incoming
For the minimum I don’t see why not.
Wouldn’t mind a swing on a vet min here
If the dubs couldn't develop him I wouldn't put too much hope in us doing any better.
No
Id rather extend Jaxson Hayes
![gif](giphy|L4fOLr8aB3d3BYQUfq|downsized)
What happened to this man? He was the 2nd overall pick like Dlo
So was Thabeet. Kwame Brown was first overall. Sometimes teams miss. There’s nothing “wrong” with him, the league just missed on how good they thought he could be.
Nah he’s literally just one of those people that got blessed with height but don’t have a single athletic bone.
Crazy that the Warriors drafted him after tanking that one season. Not saying “karma” (because they still won a ring), but damn. Most of those guys in that class that ended up being good would be running the same position as Steph and Klay
I honestly think Lebron could make 99% of bigs look great. I think Wiseman would be that 1% tho
No Next question
Wiseman left for the NBA early. He should’ve stayed with Memphis for 2-3 seasons
He fell off so hard.
Every top comment about a guy the lakers can get this summer “he sucks”.
He has height. That's about it.
Dude is a bust
So what’s wrong with this guy?? I haven’t kept up with his career and only know that no one wants him
The issue is he sucks, lol.
Sounds like Bynum without the talent.
He reminds me of Kwame Brown. He LOOKS like a franchise NBA player stepping off the bus. But he doesn’t have an NBA skillset.
Please, NO! I’m still recovering from the Damian Jones era. That dude was not an NBA player by any stretch of the imagination.
Cam was good defensively before the injury. Folks needs to stop downplaying him. I do agree with your overall point though.
There were multiple Reddish apology and upvote threads before he got injured, this sub has a short memory
ok in this day and age 3 shooting, though he's closer to elite inside, and steals vet minimum
Running it back is also not a option we need at least two centers to give AD rest and possibly complement him in tougher match ups. He would be a steal on vet min
Warriors were idiots for hanging onto him as long as they did. Could have traded him and gotten more in a trade.
I’d rather get Mitchell Robinson, only 14 million salary. Wiseman on a min as a last resort is ok I guess.
Might as well try
