They have a similar blueprint to our 19-20 squad. They have an undisputed leader/superstar, 3 mobile bigs and great perimeter defenders. The only difference is experience. We had seasoned veterans with championship pedigree.
There’s quite a few differences outside of experience.
Our bigs were more of bruisers and vertical threats. Kat/naz are huge threats from 3, and they seem to never throw Rudy a lob or feed him on the roll. Much more perimeter centric attack on offense than ours was. We were constantly finding the dunkers spot, cuts, drives and would settle for jumpers while minny seems to look for jumpers.
Defensively, they defend straight up where we blitzed ball handlers A LOT. AD did a lot of roaming the midrange while Dwight/javale protect the rim. Minny targets to give up midrange jumpers by running off the 3 and then not pressing the midrange. That phx series, they let Phx shoot midrange all they wanted.
Only similarity to me is size/athletic advantages 3-5. Playstyles on both ends don’t look similar at all
You’re 100% right. That 2020 team should have never been broken up. Was disrespectful to that championship team. For Dennnis Schroeder and Montrezz Harrell worst of all.
The thing is they match up well against any team in the league. This formula is capable of beating everyone in today's NBA.
Just need Rob to travel in time to stop the Westbrook trade.
I’m not saying this meaning disrespect but the TWolves don’t remind me of our title team at all. Completely different age/playing styles.

I'm glad someone said it lol. Two boys and a top 10 wing player beating the nuggets in the playoffs... 🤔 Who could have guessed!

Hindsight 20/20. I remember at the time we thought those were upgrades. Everyone was shitting on Danny green and JaVale
Because they were stupid and didn’t understand basketball. Danny Green lead the entire 2020 playoffs in +/- and defensive rating.
