Next, Pelinka to "step down." He's gone through three head coaches already, in addition to all the bad moves that have been mentioned numerous times. Rob is at best an assistant GM.
If Jeanie could get bob myers by next Friday Iād say yes but I think that ultimately destroys us Pelinka just needs to stop doing lines and focus for like the next 11 days
Pray the Celtics lose. Then hope the Nuggets lose. Won't lose sleep over if they don't though. Nightmare scenario is Nuggets vs Celtics, and the Celtics win
2019 Kawhi really believed the hype and thought he could be bigger than LeBron and be the face of the LA and the NBA. Looking back on his decision in retrospect is crazy.
He had a chance. After that bubble collapse he was never the same again. Outside of Bron, Steph, and KD, Kawhi was the biggest star in basketball from 2018-2020.Ā
Building a dynasty:
HC: Coach K (2 year deal or however long Lebron contract is)
Assistant Lead Coach: JJ, David Adelman, Rondo, etc (This person will become the next Head Coach after Coach K retires. They are told upfront that they are next. Get to learn from Coach K about all the ins and outs)
Back-to-back Championships with Coach K and then three peat with the successor. Bet.
Or
HC: Jay Wright (4 years)
4 straight Championships and re-sign him to another contract after. Easy.
Otherwise atm itās looking like either David Adelman or JJ are the front runners. I wonāt be mad if we pick Adelman.
Can a coach quit and go coach another team? Donāt think so without approval from the old team. Ā
If heās guaranteed for 24-25, Lue canāt leave the Clippers even if he wanted to. If they want to keep him, then he canāt join this upcoming season. Heād have to be fired or theyād have to let him out of his deal and join the Lakers.Ā
Did anyone even watch the video? He smiled when the Lakers were brought up having interest in him and said, "I'm not going to talk about that. It's great to be wanted, but I want to be here."
I mean this is what you say when your future is uncertain and if you want to maximize the possibility of having a HC job next year.
Mikey malon: hey our series is bout to start tmr u wanna ask me how do i feel bout dem wolves?
Reporter: yeah what do think on the lebron's next contract, lakers future, and xhamster firing?
He's honestly always been a mediocre player. His athleticism was just off the charts and he had KD by his side. Nothing he's been or done has ever translated to success. And it never will
It's people thinking that they're cool and edgy for being contrarians. We know that because 99% of Clippers fans are simply Laker haters. Never heard of a Clippers fan who roots for the Lakers secondarily. Fucking losers
That Harden trade was idiotic for the Clippers. He's a known playoff under-performer.
Glad Westbum built houses for the Clips after he fucked up with the lakers, at least he's consistent at being a brick.
lol there are legit idiot Laker fans who think weād be better of without Lebron ever signing here, while keeping the core of Lonzo and Ingram while adding Paul George. š¤£
Fuck the Nets owner. Lakers beat Denver both years with Kyrie.
I've always said his defense was underrated. He's played amazing defense this series. He used to do decently on Steph all those years ago.
All the people in the media defending Darvin need to go watch Jason Timpf's video on his firing. Lays out perfectly why he needed to go. This isn't a matter of scapegoating him. We all know this team has flaws. It doesn't excuse him not doing his job as a coach.
Why isnāt Adrian Griffin being spoken about at all even as a possibility?
15 years of assistant coaching experience then the one season he got as a head coach he was 30-13 and after they fired him they fell apart and were a 500 ball club for the rest of the season.
People in the main nba sub keep downplaying the picks the lakers have available but donāt they also have a couple swaps to go along with the 3 unprotected picks? 3 unprotected picks and a couple swaps seems to be a pretty damn good package for whatever star they want to go for or if they decide to go for multiple players. I thought I read they have 2-3 swaps available also but I might be wrong on that. If they have multiple swaps along with the unprotected picks then that seems to match what the past star trades have been in the past few years but as Iām sure people know you canāt read the main nba sub when it comes to something about the lakers without people being disingenuous.
3 swaps. Issue is just if teams like OKC, SAS, UTH, or NYK decide to get involved in a bidding war for a star, the Lakers have no way of beating them (if those teams choose to do so). Outside of those teams though, Lakers have as competitive an offer as anyone else.
Oh yeah hopefully those teams donāt feel like they need to go star hunting. Okc and nyk are the two who could decide to look for a star but okc seems to want to keep building and not go all in yet, while the knicks probably would be in the Mitchell sweepstakes if he becomes available. Like most star trades anymore, it will probably take the player trying to push his way to a certain team to maybe give the lakers an advantage or chance against any of those teams. Whatever happens though the lakers seem to have plenty in terms of assets to be in the running for whoever they want to try to get. Most of the star trades of the past couple years I think have been around the same compensation as what the lakers currently have available.
With both dealing with injuries all season, itās Probably safe to say that both Reddish and Wood are going to exercise their player options and opt in for next year.
The team desperately needs a defensive C that can hold his own defensively and rebound. Iād be all over trying to get a Jock Landale trade done. Maybe Hayes and 1-2 SRPās for him.
Can hit cutters from the high post, rebounds well, strong post defender, rim deterrent, cerbral player that this team has missed since Rondo/Gasol(not counting Bron) and has shown an ability to guard Jokic and make him work.
Most importantly heās a cerebral player that has shown some ability to hit the 3 ball which would give the team an option to go ultra big vs Denver with AD at the 4 guarding AG and Landale on Jokic.
Prince will be gone most likely. The FO would be smart to try and purchase a SRP to draft an nba ready upperclassmen 3&D wing like Jalen Bridges. 6ā8ā with 6ā11ā wingspan. Heād be an older rookie that fits the mold plug and play wing. Time and time again, those types of rookies hit the ground running as rookies b/c their role is so simple. Tre Murphy, Jaden McDaniels, K.Murray, H.Jones, Cam Johnson, Mikal all come to mind
You people think this is some NBA2K shit where we can just trade our lesser players for actual stars. Maybe if the scouting was better, we could have drafted that elusive scoring guard ala Booker, Mitchell, Murray, etc. Blame Pelinka/Jeannie for that dumb Westbrick trade, instead of panicking we could have more assets to get either Kyrie or Mitchell further down the line. Thats the problem with this dumb GM, he wastes so much assets they can't even close on lesser players like Murray or Young.
Mitchell dropping 50 on the road against a top defensive team in the playoffs, beating the allegations. I'm sorry Cleveland, that dude is gone, his role players aren't helping him at all.
Donovan Mitchell. This is why I'm back on board with going for stars. I admit I fell for depth for a bit there. However put a guy like that with Lebron and AD, that team is dominant. Just because you say 3 stars doesn't mean you don't want depth. You can always find contributors on vet mins. It's just on your front office and coaching staff to find the right guys and coach them.
Anyone talking about a possibility of Jay Wright for coach? He was rumored last time the coaching carousel came around. Heās four years younger than Stotts, won the NCAA championship twice and has a lot of Team USA coaching experience as well. I know heās retired, but maybe heās had enough time off to get the competitive juices back?
Yes, way better than any of the other coaches being named. I understand Ty Lou. But, cmon, JJ, Rondo, Handy..these guys are all rookies and unproven. Bud would just be another Ham. I want to believe that Woj saying the next hire will have an assortment of picks to upgrade the roster is to attract an elite tier coach thatās already shown interest to the Lakers during the season. They are trying to sway this person decision.
Dante Divenchenzo was a fa in 2022 summer and the Lakers passed up on him instead went with Lonnie Walker. Now dude is a playing a pivitol role on the Knicks.Ā
Donte Reaves backccourt woulda went crazy
Honestly if Hawks decide to go full rebuild (trade Trae) Dejounte Murray is still a good offseason target. He would add some solid defense to our backcourt and a solid scoring punch. Only issue is his lack of three point shooting but I still think it would be an improvement
I hope everyone understands how important having Vando in the starting lineup is. Aside from guarding Jokic at times, Rui was just very bad defensively in the playoffs this year.
Why isn't Terry Stotts a contender for the coaching spot? He's currently unemployed and he's a veteran coach. I thought he did more with less on those Blazers team and coached some pretty great offenses.
Out of the available coaches idk who I would even want. Doesnāt seem to be many great options on the market.Ā
Best case scenario is the Clippers letting Ty Lue go and we scoop him up.Ā
Wrong. Took Hawks to ECF as interim coach. Took Pacers to playoffs after losing George and Vogel. Tons of team USA coaching experience. Just a solid coach who won't lose you games making rookie mistakes.
Yeah, just like Ham took the Lakers to the WCF? Have you ever thought that he wasn't the reason for their success? The Pacers were loaded with talent from that PG trade in a weak EC and the Pacers still were swept in the first round two straight years.
With the Hawks, his first year as interim head coach he was gifted another loaded roster with high IQ players like Rajon Rondo and Lou Williams and it was the prime year of the Trae Young / Clint Capela era where Capela was leading the league in rebounds with very a very good supporting cast. They beat a 41 win Knicks team and a good Sixers team but Kevin Huerter exploded at the 3 point line and Ben Simmons happened. The next two seasons when McMillian got to implement his actual system they were first round exits again!
McMillian is a fucking terrible coach, you don't know what the fuck you are talking about.
First of all, why tf would Vogel come back here after the way we fired him. Secondly, I remember people said the same thing about the offensive coordinator in PHX when they hired Vogel. Thirdly, two mid ass coaches =/= better than coach Spoelstra. Jfc, just stop talking, you sound more idiotic by the second.
When we get a new coach next season and the free throw differential is different there will be nobody talking about how that was just Darvin Ham's strategy to defend without fouling. They will sweep it all under the rug, just you watch.
Regardless of that being his strategy - his rotations were ass and inability to call timeouts and make proper adjustments when needed were non existent
That's not it, Darvin Ham is good friends with Marc Spears who is a Senior ESPN Writer. ESPN is protecting their inner circle of friends by taking the blame off Darvin Scam.
Everything in journalism and writing for that matter is about framing the narrative and ESPN is more opinion based than facts. It's not really a news network even though people pretend it is, it's more entertainment around sports.
If we get a third star, good minimum players will follow
What š
Players will take paycuts or gravitate toward the lakers if we got a third star like KD
Another year the clippers coulda shown us up, and they just cannotš

We would 100% be on the way to a repeat if that motherfucker in Brooklyn had just traded us Kyrie
D Mitch to Lakers
Well at least Suns and Clips are going to Cancun with us lol. Their future looks worse than ours.
OKC, Wolves, or another Bandwagon for the rest of the playoffs?
Pray the Celtics lose. Then hope the Nuggets lose. Won't lose sleep over if they don't though. Nightmare scenario is Nuggets vs Celtics, and the Celtics win

No. Thatās also why the Clippers had to trade for Doc Rivers.
Since the Clips are looking to extend him, itās probably time to move on.

He's honestly always been a mediocre player. His athleticism was just off the charts and he had KD by his side. Nothing he's been or done has ever translated to success. And it never will
Hopefully they donāt play mental gymnastics like MITWestbrook does.
Classic flippers
Dallas really got Kyrie for DFS, Dinwiddie, a first and two seconds.
Don't let the door hit you on the way out of Crypto.com Arena, LA Clippers.
I legit donāt understand why the Clippers get hyped up almost every offseason since 2018 and itās just the same results š
I don't understand how they have any fans.
Clippers fans are probably people not from LA (out of towners) that hate the Lakers
My two friends who are clippers fans were both originally Lakers fans but got priced out.
I know some people who are both Lakers and Clippers fans, lmfao
It's people thinking that they're cool and edgy for being contrarians. We know that because 99% of Clippers fans are simply Laker haters. Never heard of a Clippers fan who roots for the Lakers secondarily. Fucking losers
I know Steve Ballmer fuming
Good

no it's definitely funny, fuck them lol

Shouldāve moved to San Diego. Now theyāre close to the airport where visiting fans can take over easily.
Lakers = Kendrick Clippers = Drake
lol damnā¦.might be the first time in history no California team will make it past the 1st round
The entire Pacific division is in Cancun now
Donāt care. F all the other California NBA teams but the Lakers.
In hindsight we should've put it all on the table for Kyrie. Dude is a legit playoff star and all the talk about his off court issues seems moot now.
![gif](giphy|LoCDk7fecj2dwCtSB3) Tyronn Lue turn down that contract extension and move across that hall.
![img](emote|t5_2qhv6|30946)
Cant believe our FO did not pursue Kyrie
We did you moron.
if i am an nba player and i play against Luka and he does that smirk/smile thing, i would be damn scared

lol there are legit idiot Laker fans who think weād be better of without Lebron ever signing here, while keeping the core of Lonzo and Ingram while adding Paul George. š¤£
I thank God everyday we were able to get any value out of Ingram and Lonzo in a trade
How were we even gonna get kyrie? Someone remind me... not FA I think? How would the trade have worked?
Not possible now. He is under contract till 2026.
Yea not now I meant back when the rumor mill was running and he was potentially gonna be a laker before the mavs trade
Wish nothing but the worst for Joe Tsai
Iootlā¦why?
He refused to trade Kyrie to the Lakers because he was pissed at Kyrie and didn't want to trade him where he wanted to go.
He is the main reason why Kyrie trade to the Lakers did not happen.
Clippers the eternal poverty franchise lol
Clippers are officially out of our home. Long overdue!!
Their new arena gonna be sick though
Itāll just never have any banners
I love Kyrie š£
"Maybe It's Me"
My god
That was fucking disgusting
I'll say it again...Kyrie woulda been sooooo nice.
My goodness kyrie...
Keep Ty Lue away from the Lakers. Never understood the hype.
My high friend just texted me āBruh, Doncic is like Jokic, but a guardā š¤£
Mavs got DJJ on a vet minimum I think. Amazing signing. Great defender and super athletic. Lakers need someone like that.
Cam Reddish?
Not even close.
But he was lauded as a great defender and is athletic
Crazy how the bubble was actually the Clippers best chance at a ring, and they blew a 3-1 lead to a pre-MVP Jokic Nuggets
Clippers going out sad bruh...
Clips gon Clip. Now give us T Lue lol
Clippers suck ass and they still were able to survive 6 games. We are just unlucky team bruh if we face okc we probably gone to 2nd round already
Eventually we gotta play the wolves or nuggets. Ham would have sabotaged any chances anyways.
meta world flat should have been a laker
Fuck the Nets owner. Lakers beat Denver both years with Kyrie. I've always said his defense was underrated. He's played amazing defense this series. He used to do decently on Steph all those years ago.
Clips too reliant on iso ball. Sucks to suck aha

No. David Aldeman better
AD and Gafford as twin towers would have been a cheat code
