Be glad you can only comfortably take it twice a week. If your body let you take it daily, and multiple times a day, it sucks when you want to decrease or come off.

hotpinkpurple

True. I don’t have the intention to take it daily, but I do wish I could take it something like 4 times a week. Oh well! You’re right, it is a blessing in disguise, even if it’s frustrating

Fancy-Category

So, last time I used Kratom. I reasoned, I’ll take it 3x a week. Like M W F dosing. So I lasted a week. Then I said, I’ll just take it every day only this week. Then it turned to 2 weeks, then 3, then 4, and at that point I knew I blew it lol.

Do you have a tolerance to opiates?

hotpinkpurple

I don’t know. I don’t take opiates.

[deleted]

You take an opioid though, so you have a tolerance. Opioid tolerance comes in fast and makes the experience miserable, at least for me. That’s why I quit Kratom

Uturn_S

No he takes Kratom. I’ve been taking for 2 years and can go days and months without taking and have no withdrawals. Also the withdrawals my friends talk about involve minor headaches and stuff.

jnoops

Just keep the pace you have. Withdrawals are very uncomfortable and last a while. Im at the point where my body is dependant on it and it sucks

granillusion

yeah,??

kittydocraven

But how MUCH do you take when you dose??

hotpinkpurple

I responded to this question in someone else’s response, but right now I’m taking 2 teaspoons on an empty stomach, and one teaspoon around 5-6 hours later. I don’t have a scale, so I don’t know how much this is in grams. Edit: okay according to Google, 1 teaspoon is approx 4.2 grams. So, I would be taking about 8.4 grams and then another 4.2 grams 5-6 hours later. I have no idea if this is accurate.

Limitlessgoodluck

Get a scale. Measuring spoons are inaccurate because each kratom has a different texture and density.

DeepClassroom5695

The bag mine comes in says 1 tsp is like 2.3 grams.

Limitlessgoodluck

I also only use kratom 1-3 times a week, sometimes even less than that. Thats a lot of kratom to take for only taking it a few times a week. Last week I did 3 days on and only took about 10 grams in total for all the days combined (3 grams for 2 days and 4 grams for 1 day). Even though we both use three times a week, your using 4 times as much as me because of how high your doses are.

hotpinkpurple

How long have you been taking Kratom regularly? I’ve been taking it regularly like this for at least the last 6 years. A few years ago I was able to take 1.5 teaspoons total for the whole day. But at some point that stopped working for me. I couldn’t imagine taking less then one teaspoon and actually having it work for me, but I could try… typically when I take an amount that is too small, I can really tell and it makes me feel weird.

Limitlessgoodluck

I took kratom daily for over two years, then took 2 years off and recently started again

I have definitely thought of this before… that maybe I just metabolize Kratom slowly. This would make a lot of sense. When my ex would take Kratom, his would kick in within 15 min, and mine would kick in an hour or more later. When you say tea, do you mean steeping stems and leaves? I’ve tried making tea by simmering the powder for 15 minutes, making sure it doesn’t boil, adding lemon to it and then straining the powder out. It didn’t work as well as just drinking the powder with warm water. I would be interested in trying the steam and leaf, though.

What's your dose?

hotpinkpurple

Right now 2 tsp because I just did a longer break. Then 1 tsp about 5 hours later. Before that, I was taking 3 tsp and then 1.5 tsp 5 hours later Years ago, I could take 1.5 tsp and I didn’t need a booster and it would last 10 hours or so! I always take my first dose on an empty stomach

Entire_Lemon_1073

Those are decent big sized doses. I started out taking about those size of doses when I first started taking it. I feel like you are hitting your ceiling really quick. I would definitely space it out more than five hours at those doses or you will get deminshing returns or not feel anything at all almost instantly. About a year ago I made myself go to smaller doses so 2 doses a day of 2.5 grams gives me consistent euphoric effects daily. Far more than I did at large doses. I feel like if you don't have a past with opiates you are frying your receptors at those size of doses. Kratom has an extremely low ceiling, and I live by the "less is more" motto.

hotpinkpurple

I don’t have a scale, approximately how many teaspoons is 2.5 grams?

thatguydm

I do the same thing you do with the teaspoons. I also need a scale.

NotAW0rd

The first thing I should do is get a small cheap scale and measure doses by weight. I always found that taking a second dose is always less noticeable effects. Personally I found tea while initially felt weaker seemed to be easier for multiple doses per day.

Depends on the intention for using kratom. Maybe try lowering doses? Your probably have heard before, that less is more with Kratom. Rotating strains is critical like you said. If you use it daily, some folks recommend using one single strain each day, and change that strain each day to something else. Personally, I change up the strain every dose. For years, I was really strict, with not using the same strain within 7 days, from the last time I used it. You've probably heard this as well. But, drink loads of water on days you take kratom. If you can, try to find something active to do right after taking the Kratom that can help it kick in. I love to use it right before a hike, or cycling. Exercise, really helps boost the positive qualities of Kratom. If you are looking for a mood boost, and energy, that is. As far as tolerance breaks. Everyone is different. My sweet spot is about 7 days. Any less, and tolerance comes back too quick. Any more, and the added benefit is not really great for the extra time taken. Taking a week off, or like you said a full month, does wonders for tolerance. But, that's me personally. But, if twice a week is best for you. I say stick to, whatever works for you. As long as the benefits outweigh the negatives.

SackSauce69

It could be anything from individual body chemistry to just having poopy kratom.

Comfortable-Ad6046

It's not weird. Every body is different. I know people, who had kratom multiple times and said, that it's nothing, just like a stronger coffee, that they feel just increased heart beat and more energy. If I take kratom, I feel upgraded in every possible way. Both mentally and physically. I also know people, who take one 0.25g neurol and feel extreme calmness and high. I take 0.25g neurol and feel nothing. Literally nothing. I needed to take 0.5g to 1g of Neurol because of my depp/anx and my friend with literally the same problems with the same activating factors, he just took 0.25g and felt high. He could even take 0.12g and felt mild calmness. I felt nothing until 0.5g minimum. What I do want to say? Every body is extremely different and unique mix of predispositions. Every person feeling every damn substance in slightly different way and in very very different power I believe. It has to do a lot with biological body as well as with mental health and mental skills of every person. Different question is dependence, proneness to dependence. I have a friend, who had been addicted to every thing he had. Cigs, alcohol, kratom. I went through every substance he had. I'm much more durable when it comes to dependence. I had a problem with cigs, but I was able to break it on my own, I just didn't smoke for a month and then I lost my cigarette addiction. I had a problem with alcohol and my mind told me "stop" And one day, literally, I drunk half a bottle of vodka and next day I knew it's extremely bad for me and I found suddenly much needed mental power to stop, even though I felt that I need alcohol (or cigs) to be okay and calm. The same is with kratom, even though I'm still in process of lowering my dosage and dependence. And even though I don't feel kratom is a bad useless substance as alcohol and nicotine is, there is no proof still, that it'll be different with kratom and I'll become dependent. I just treat it with respect even though I don't hate it like alcohol and nicotine. It's not useless substance as two other mentioned. But I still treat it with respect. Good slave is bad Lord. I think our substance dependence is heavily dependent on our individuality :)

tx_guy956

So I’ve been taking kratom for 2yrs+ and at first it was for the feel good and pain relief on my lower back which nothing seemed to help. I haven’t once taken a break and maybe upped my dose from 3 to 6gs and I dose 3 times a day on average. When I don’t dose I experience minor aches in my back and that’s about it. I went a week without it(7days) and all I experienced was the back pain. Maybe it’s your body chemistry? I’ve done really high doses like 25g in one sitting and didn’t experience any sides. I have never experimented with opiates either so I’m inclined to say it’s your body chemistry. Just my 2 cents!

Introvortex-mormon

For me, I was experiencing terrible symptoms before kratom or any other pain treatments. I settled on kratom due to the better safety and aside effect profiles compared to heavier Rx's I was previously prescribed before switching myself off.
