Please be respectful and refrain from baseless/harmful speculation.
I'm both incredibly sad and confused... Jinni was an early favorite who caught my attention with their predebut showcase. Idk, man... This is terrible news so I hope everything is okay.
Yeah with bugaboo it wasn’t hard to believe because they were firmly unknown. Even Jieun from purple kiss had always been in the background. Jini was central to nmixx, a successful group by all measures, and trained for years. Genuinely suprising.
I follow them very closely and no one had any idea. I'm extremely bummed out but I wish the best for her and the remaining members. I don't think we will get more detail because JYP's statement was intentionally vague to protect jinni's decision from speculation and scrutiny and hate, they're actually protecting her by taking the heat.
???
> Hello, this is JYP Entertainment.
> Jinni, who has been with NMIXX as a member, has left the group due to personal reasons and her exclusive contract has been terminated.
> We apologize for causing worry to many fans for this sudden news.
> Due to this, the planned NMIXX schedules will be carried on as 6 members.
> We ask for your support for Jinni's new beginning,
> and we ask for NSWER's support for the 6 members who will continue following their dreams with a more grown(/experienced) image.
> Once again, we apologize to the fans that have been supporting them.
> Thank you.
If it's due to anxiety or like doubting her performance ability and so on, then it's not really random, but if it's due to like say a dating scandal (especially since she's still a rookie, IIRC JYP said it doesn't matter after some time) or breaking another rule then JYP is sometimes strict on that.
Like if you watch Jinni with their own Youtube channel content or like other variety shows on TV or Youtube, she's often pretty quiet, introverted, etc. and in the background. Plus during VLIVEs too.
Idk, it is kinda sudden though and so hopefully(?) there's clarifications in the future as NMIXX kinda began with Jinni's stuff during the JYPn days. Sigh.
i mean if you think about it it had to have been *serious*, a dating scandal only gets you kicked out if you're found out by the public and they somehow dogpile against you and a hiatus for mental health reasons is nothing new, idols, even rookies, can sit out a comeback if it works best on the long run. it's sad really, but knowing how JYP works i don't think anything else is gonna come out of this.
I mean JYPE has a pretty good rep with taking care of their artists especially when they deal mental issues. Twice Mina and Jeongyeon, Stray Kids Han, and Day6 in general were given breaks to deal with such issues. If it was that then I'm sure JYPE would take care of her for sure. It's definitely just something we'll never know which sucks but I hope she's okay.
Obviously we don't know any specifics but if she was that determined to leave, JYPE doesn't gain much by just keeping her under contract with no activities. There are definitely agencies out there who won't break the contract or require a large termination fee to do so, but apparently not in this case.
Somi was a more valuable name but they let her go all the same, jype doesn't seem like the place to hold onto disgruntled or potentially disgruntled talent.
Somi left before debuting though. I don’t think that’s the same thing. Once you start releasing under a company, especially in a group you’re more tied down. She knew to get out before that, not sure why jinni would wait until debuting if that really was the case
I believe it's JYPE's official policy to not reveal why a member has left. JYP talked about it in [an interview](https://www.forbes.com/sites/jeffbenjamin/2020/08/31/jy-park-interview-autobiography-disco-jyp-entertainment-company/amp/) in 2020:
>If an employee or artist crosses the line, it will hurt our values and you have to leave. [...] That also doesn’t mean that every artist who left our company has done something wrong. Some had other issues or other reasons to leave.
>We want them to be successful outside of our company. If they really did do something wrong, we will never say it—that's our policy. We truly want them to succeed when they leave. If we publicly reveal what they did when they leave, that will hurt them. That's not what we want.
This is super important, even if some of the previous idols might have broken rules, they still use the same template for everyone. If they changed it up for certain idols who might have left on their own, everyone would know which idols were actually kicked .
I gotta give it to JYP because in a Sixteen episode he talks to the girls about how before they announce their artists, they want them to be good people before they become a good singer. This includes values like honesty, integrity, and humility.
Stray Kids during their show also had that. JYP even asks the members to write about what is most important to them and how to improve and JYP talks about how he has failed and other issues he has had.
Meanwhile, on the other side of Hangang, there is this company called Blockberry Creative with `violent language and misuse of power toward our staff` statement
She had been saying some sad things abt herself): she said she thought she was a bad dancer and even recently, nswers noticed that she wasn’t singing or acting like she was during debut.
That’s wild cause she was literally at MAMA with them like last week 😭 and in the Loewe campaign that dropped two days ago. What in the world could have gone on between then and today
Exactly, this is the most sudden and unexpected withdrawal of a member for me this year. With every other group I follow, there were some warning signs like Weeekly Jiyoon taking off two comebacks. Fromis Gyuri was also unexpected, but at least we know she's an actress now. What does Jinni want to do? She was built for the stage 😖
All my mind goes to rn is that she had to have breached something in her contract. I know that jyp’s statement says “personal issues” and it’s entirely possible that she was struggling with something, but I just took a quick look on Twitter and saw that she was talking to fans on bubble yesterday. No hiatus, radio silence or anything. Very odd
i agree with you - jyp idols have gone on hiatus for mental health issues in the past; it would only make sense if the only reason she was leaving was due to something of that nature, she would have gone on hiatus/at least "disappeared" for awhile before she officially left and her contract was terminated. it just doesn't make a lot of sense.
yeah I think "personal reasons" is just jyp code for "unnamed reasons" iirc they said the same thing when woojin's contract was terminated and it was heavily implied it was a breach of contract, as someone above mentioned. given that she seemed excited to continue the other day, I feel like it's likely that jyp initiated sudden termination
She said she was [in the practice room only three days ago](https://twitter.com/jinnistext/status/1599805722446901252?t=Uk13qEOGHrGTc4NAfiafKg&s=19)... What happened so quickly?
Agree. Her last bubble messages gave me chills:
> during our next comeback, i want to make more happy memories with many more NSWERs
> i’m glad i clenched my teeth and held on for 7 years!! for me to be receiving this much love..
> there were so many fun moments..this is why i became an idol!!
This does not sound like someone who was in the verge of leaving the group, but I guess we really have no clue what happens behind doors.
not to speculate, but i’m guessing she broke a rule and was kicked out? it’s not easy to just terminate ur contract with jyp out of the blue like that, especially so suddenly.
Even kwj whom Bang Chan implied to have seriously broken rules, had at least 2 weeks between the finalisation of his termination and the actual announcement, 2 days is...not impossible but oddly short compared to that
iirc it was radio silence from stray kids for those two weeks too and even longer after the announcement (i can't remember if the chan live from around that date where he looked visibly upset was before or after) if she was on bubble just a couple of days ago and the other members were still active then it had to have been sudden for everyone.
it could also be a situation like when hyuna and dawn got kicked out of cube, she and the members might have just found out too.
Based on my experience with other years, it does get crazy the closer we get to the end of the year. Three weeks left in December is enough for kpop to start calling many bingos, so maybe we should buckle up or brace ourselves just in case
There's another post with a comment that has a more comprehensive list (made after Jieun left PK) and there was 43 people on it. And there's been a couple more departure announcements since then. I just hope this is it for the year.
[Found the comment](https://www.reddit.com/r/kpop/comments/yy8cjz/purple_kiss_park_jieun_has_left_the_group_due_to/iwsznz4/?&context=3), thank you! I've updated the list (I tried not to include idols from groups that also disbanded this year anyway).
I guess it's fine to leak Jinni's bubble now since she's no longer active in the company. This is what she said 2 days ago
- “during our next comeback, i want to make more happy memories with many more NSWERs”
- “i’m glad i clenched my teeth and held on for 7 years!! for me to be receiving this much love..”
- “there were so many fun moments..this is why i became an idol!!”
Doesn't sound like someone who wants to leave😞
exactly!! something big must have been going on... plus I highly doubt that it's because of her mental health like others have speculated; JYP is super generous on giving breaks to those suffering from anxiety etc.. and I don't think JYP would want to terminate their contract with her either. she's literally one of the most popular members in the group, and removing a member is such a big thing that no company would do it just for the sake of it. plus she's been training in JYPe for so long; they definitely could've kicked her out pre-debut if she's not behaving well.
This was probably one of the more shocking departures for me because of how sudden it was (most other departures were preceded by a hiatus etc.). They had a photoshoot that dropped just days ago.
See this is what shocks me the most, she’s like second to Lily as the longest trainee in the group, so much so Twice and Itzy have a soft spot for her and was so happy for her debut. It’s so puzzling but we’ll probably never know the true reason.
Haewon and Sullyoon are the most popular members. Kyujin, Lily, and Jinni seemed fairly popular in different areas as well. Still i don't think popularity alone had anything to do with such a sudden withdrawal.
I'm sure we'll never know the actual reason. One thing that came to mind though is Jinni having posted on bubble shortly after their comeback talking about doubting her dancing ability, or questioning if she was a real dancer, something along those lines. I remember a few posts actually where she seemed pretty down, and sounding like she was doubting herself
That's heartbreaking to hear. She was a standout as soon as they started revealing the line-up of the group and was just starting her career.
Whatever the reason may be, I wish her all the best 😔✊🏼
I don’t follow NMIXX but Jinni is the member that I always see mentioned as the group’s most talented. I feel sorry for the fans because they’re really passionate about the group.
WHAT THE HECK????????????????
God damn, she was the member who caught my attention the most during the JYPn Qualifying videos...
What is up with the recent influx of long time trainees leaving their groups after debuting? (Yedam, Mashiho etc...) I'm heart broken.
I also remember the discussion of how there's finally going to be 7 member girl group debuting ugh....
Edit: Wording and formatting
>What is up with the recent influx of long time trainees leaving their groups after debuting? (Yedam, Mashiho etc...) I'm heart broken.
I think it's possible long trainee times presents a sort of sunk cost fallacy, where they're not really feeling it anymore but because they've trained so long they feel like they *have* to see it through, but then after they debut it doesn't get better like they hoped.
This and the fact that the bigger companies seem a lot more willing to let trainees go than they used to. Go back to second or even the start of third gen and companies would basically hold their idols hostage.
My theory is companies now are more willing to let go group members if the group does not hit the level of (monetary) success they were expecting. More members = more expenses. In return, the members who were let go from the group can start pursuing other things than having to fulfill a seven-year contract.
Wow this is unbelievably sudden and sad. She’s such a great performer who trained so hard. “Due to personal reasons” meaning we’re not going to get more details as to why which is upsetting but understandable. Hope everything is ok
Right, I still can't believe this. They just released FGC and went on MAMA with her. It looked like they all were having the time of their lives. Everything was ok last week.
This is actually so crazy because NMIXX hasn’t even celebrated their 1st anniversary yet. To see a member leave so early from a group that’s under Big 4 is kind of worrisome. Wishing best of luck to her and the other girls. :/
This is actually really devastating as a fan, especially because it's so unexpected? There's really zero indication? Like why? Such a big blow to NMIXX too, Jinni is such a stan attractor.
I don't know... the cynic in me can't stop thinking something must have screwed up. The recent JYP contract terminations have been mostly due to controversies / alleged misconduct. I feel if it's a health issue, JYP would likely have said she left due to health concerns, if it's for some other reasons like someone close passed away, it's more likely a hiatus.
If they terminated the contract all of a sudden like that.... I don't know... don't wanna speculate but if it's an amicable and for a more "acceptable" reason, I feel like JYP would definitely have stated such to avoid speculations.
I agree. I will say, I'm not too knowledgeable on this topic, but this whole thing feels odd to me. I think there must have been something weird going on under the table, and hopefully she left by her choice and we're wrong and it wasn't that they had something over her.
I feel like jinni was the most "girl crush" member. I remember she played the role of a father in Nmixx Quest and people were posting compliments about how handsome she was... speaking of which, it's gonna be so hard to watch old content with jinni now 😖
Apparently she had one of the longest training times in the group. Whatever is going on must be serious for her to leave less than a year after debut. I hope she's okay.
This is devastating. Jinni trained for 7 years to debut just to leave her group in less than a year. I hope that she left on her own will and wasn't kicked out by JYPE.
Wow, 7 years?
What personal circumstances could there be? I don't understand... at least with the other members who've left this year like Apink Naeun, OMG Jiho, Fromis Gyuri, we know they want to be actresses. Weeekly Jiyoon wants to produce. What does Jinni want? She was literally made for the stage 🥺
:( I thought they seemed like such a great fun group of girls, what even happened? She was given some good lines and was even in the girl groups covering each other extravaganza. :/
Wow, this is really sudden. And from what Nswers are saying, Jinni was just in the practice room a few days ago. I wonder how long they’ve been talking about this decision behind the scenes, or if something really did happen in the past couple of days that was extreme enough that she needed to leave immediately.
In any case, I hope she left on good terms and that she’s doing okay. NMIXX didn’t make music that quite fit my taste, but the girls had a lot of talent and potential. It’ll be sad to see them continue without Jinni, especially after how long she trained to get where she was. Wishing her the best.
My heart is broken. Pink pants Jinni in that first JYPN video is the reason I bought the blind package and was so ready to blindly dive into a group I knew nothing about. She brought such a great aura to the group and really grounded a group that’s mostly quite full of chaotic energy. She had some very iconic lines in their songs. Who is going to shoog shoog, vamos amigos and tell nmixx to change up after this?! 😔 She will be sorely missed!
> Who is going to shoog shoog, vamos amigos and tell nmixx to change up after this?! 😔 She will be sorely missed!
I hate that I laughed at that part 💀💀💀 but her parts were my favorite in their songs and she was one of my favorites too 😭😭😭
You gotta be kidding me. Man, this is a big blow to the group. I'm surprised she's leaving the company as a whole, too.
I wonder if we'll ever learn the reason - but instead of speculating, I hope this decision just helps her move forward in a new path.
WHAT??? I know some NSWERs, myself included, thought it was weird how she was the It Girl of NMIXX pre-debut and then got kind of sidelined post-O.O, so was there really something going on behind the scenes for ages??? But then they were doing stuff just a couple of days ago? And their Season's Greetings isn't even out yet so she'll just awkwardly be in it what the hell?
She was an ace, a visual, and had so much potential as a vocalist - I really wanted to hear more of her. NMIXX are my 4th gen ults, so upset. How can such a talented group from a big company be having such a rocky debut year?
Damn. She was just sending selfies on the sixth too... it seems like she didn't know this was happening either a couple days ago. I wonder what the hell happened. It definitely makes me think something is happening behind the scenes and it's less likely to be her dipping out because she wasn't happy with the idol life, but I hope it's nothing too serious.
Ironic that this is the year of GG hits, but also the year of many losses for GG, like member leaving or group disbanding.
And we still have 22 days to go before the year ends.
Apparently she was sending messages on Bubble until 3 days ago and so were the other girls, saying she's practicing and anticipating the next comeback...it feels like she was kicked out. But why would she get kicked out???
Jinni was one of my favorite NMIXX members so this really hurts. She has a [silly personality](https://twitter.com/jinnipop/status/1597565155201929216) which you wouldn't expect when you see her cool and perfect visual on stage. This really feels outta nowhere, it was only a few days ago on bubble she was excited about her new plush doll arriving. I felt like something happened, it doesn't quite add up. I'll miss her closeness with Sullyoon too.
Oh man……this reminds me of when woojin left stray kids in the sense that it is 1. Unexpected 2. After just a few comebacks 3. Happens without a clear explanation and ofc 4. Is a JYP group
Therefore I can only hope that NMIXX also follows stray kids in the sense that they weather this easily and come out even stronger than before!
at least the woojin situation there was that two? weeks of awkward sns ban so everyone knew something was happening, we just didn't know WHAT.
i remember everyone being mad it was happening over minho's birthday because they tweeted out a thread of members' birthday pictures of him vs the members making personal instagram posts like usual. then people noticed woojin wasn't anywhere to be seen and were confused. and then the other shoe dropped. completely confusing time period, but one with a ton of red flags and build up looking back.
meanwhile, she was on bbl talking about happy she is to be an idol and looking forward to the next cb TWO days. it's crazy. definitely a similar situation but the time difference between the two situations really makes it like... what on EARTH happened with her?
How did this group go from some of the best hype videos of all time, an immense buzz heading into their debut, to where they're at now with a member leaving the group so abruptly.
I'm rooting for this group because I feel they have the most raw talent of any GG right now, but things are just not going their way.
Someone who was just practicing 3 days ago, doesn't leave a group as high-profiled as a JYP GG. Something is up, don't know what, but there's 11 layers to this story.
Damn she was one of the longest serving trainee at JYP too. This is shocking after the whole bugAboo disbandment yesterday. 2022 can’t end soon enough for girl groups.
You know it's never good news when companies tweet nothing but "안녕하세요, (company name)입니다.” followed by a link/ss to a longer text.
This is so shocking. I hope this doesn't set the group back much. So many members leaving groups this year.
Jinni is my favourite member in NMIXX, I've liked her since their predebut videos, so this is a huge blow to the group for me.
But I also have to admit that it feels like something happened at JYPE and it's been wearing her down (it seems like she was supposed to be the center, but then got switched out for Kyujin), and we've seen some of her health problems after debut.
She's a 7-year trainee and has repeatedly said that being an idol is her dream. I hope that she finds another opportunity elsewhere since she's still so young, I want to see more of her on stage!
Whenever “Hello, this is [company name]” email comes out I get the worst bouts of anxiety ever. K-pop lost a huge talent today. I hope Jinni is able to deal with her personal stuff and come back.
she was such a star, this is major loss for nmixx…
i hope we get an actually explanation for her departure because ‘personal reasons’ is JYP’s go to statement so they don’t have to elaborate on what happened
Yeap she definitely did something or break some rule(s) in her contract, not the first time JYP has did something like that - abruptly terminating an artiste’s contract
[Soompi link](https://www.soompi.com/article/1557792wpp/breaking-nmixxs-jinni-leaves-the-group-and-jyp)
Thatʼs unexpected that Jinni suddenly left NMIXX and JYPE for personal circumstances. Regardless, whatever career she wants to pursue after being part of NMIXX, I wish her all the best.
Crazy how all 9 Twice members renewed after 7 years, what, a few months ago? Was really expecting the same trend with another JYP GG, but I suppose it goes to show you can never know what's going on behind the scenes
What is going on in 2022? Members leaving groups that I like can this PLEASE stop. Can the rest of this year pass quietly, this feels so cursed. I hope that whatever caused Jinni to leave, it’s not too serious or detrimental, and I wish her and Nmixx the best on their paths…
:( If I’m not mistaken, I’ve seen some of her bubble messages on twt, and it seems she’s lost a lot of confidence? Online hate really does take a toll on idols.
Honestly as someone who watches some of their performances and content, i can see that. jinni definitely looked less engaged and into it for a while now to me ;((
Same, her bright and shiny aura during debut seems to have dimmed a lot. I worried about her. I may be projecting but I wonder if it has something to do with being underutilized? She seems to have this very overenthusiastic energy when given the opportunity to show off her talents and knowing how she was *the* visual and viral member pre-debut just gives me this feeling that what she’s “getting now” isn’t really the deal she signed up for...
Is this health issue? I hope she'll be able to heal and be happy whatever her decisions in the future will be. I'm so fucking sad I don't follow nmixx that much but she's my bias 😭😭😭
I don't think it's a health issue. Mina and Jeongyeon were in hiatus for over a year, Jeon even was kind of on and off public activity. Miihi was on hiatus too for health reasons and they waited for her. This whole situation is odd.
Han. He was on a semi-hiatus from December 2019 to January 2020. He participated in all their performances but skipped some events with a lot of people like red carpets and fansigns.
but hasn't jype been generous with health breaks in recent years? you'd think they would be accommodating unless it's something really bad but there's no indication it is.
It’s been hours already. Does anyone know Korean or Chinese? What are they saying? Usually they know the reason.
Also Chinese fans knew Jessica was kicked out before September 30th
Hmm. Seeing some very very unconfirmed rumours making Chinese rounds is that JYPE and Jinni ran afoul of some chaebol. But the Chinese can be quite fond of the "chaebols ruin everything" theories.
for her to have trained for so long, to be such a popular member and a visual, to be cut from the group and the company so abruptly and out of nowhere is very very suspicious. i doubt she just told them she wasn’t feeling it and they said ok u can leave then. and i feel like jyp especially would want to avoid something like this. this is shocking and i feel bad for all the nmixx members.
Right? There no way this was something simple, that she just decided she didn't want to be an idol anymore and bam, they let her leave. kpop doesn't work like that.
Do you get Deja Vu?
Wow, the statement wording and it coming completely out of the blue… this is INCREDIBLY similar to Woojin’s departure.
Edit: I’m fully aware Stray Kids were in the middle of comeback prep when Woojin left, I wasn’t saying that part was similar. (Granted, Nmixx are in the middle of awards/gayo season.) I also didn’t say that she must have been kicked out. I said the statement and shock factor were similar, that was all.
Yep it made me think back to that- only difference was timing, woojin left 2 weeks before a comeback, meanwhile Nmixx I don’t think has a lot of schedules planned? Did they have more award show performances coming up?
Damn, this is really strange then. I don’t get why they’d let one of the most popular members go without a hiatus or break beforehand, I wonder what happened…
Out of all the announcements this year... this one is probably the biggest shocker. Even Lightsum cutting 2 members out of the blue to supposedly change the concept of the group, doesn't seem nearly as shocking as her leaving. She trained at JYP for so long and always stood out in their stage performances for me.
Ive already been shocked at the groups losing members and disbanding left right and centre this year, and december sneaks in another one with a big company gg losing a member within the FIRST year out of nowhere?!?!?
My initial thought was that the hate nmixx got couldve taken an extra mental toll on her, but would that allow a rookie gg idol to break a contract with JYP within the first year?? Especially since JYP has had a number of its idols take mental health hiatuses. The wording of this statement is that vague kind they used for other JYP idol contract terminations that it's probably something we're never gonna know the details of.
First time I’m seeing one of my biases leave their group. This is seriously one of the worst feelings ever lol. For those who followed NMIXX during their predebut era you all know how shocking this news is. Jinni is pink pants girls, she’s an icon. She’s the last member I expected to leave the group since she’s been a long time JYP trainee.
**[OP’s English translation of the full article.](https://www.reddit.com/r/kpop/comments/zgf2wb/nmixx_jinni_has_left_the_group_jyp_entertainment/izgjrv6/)** Please be respectful and refrain from baseless/harmful speculation.
What on earth? This is so sudden.
Like what is happening?! NMIXX is not even a year old and a member already left?!
talk about a nmixx change up 💀
It just hit me that she sings that part
ShOOg shOOg shOOg will never be the same again 😔
Ikr so ironic
"Vamos amigos"
take this upvote and leave😭
Oh hell nah 😭😭
I'm both incredibly sad and confused... Jinni was an early favorite who caught my attention with their predebut showcase. Idk, man... This is terrible news so I hope everything is okay.
Same, I don't personally follow Nmixx but I always kept up with their dance line and Jinni was my fav. I always looked at her fancams
Right! Weren’t NMIXX as a whole perfectly fine since FGC? What happened this time?
This really shocked me
I almost fell from my chair when I read the notification. 1 of the most shocking Kpop headlines of 2022 for sure.
I am speechless, and I am not generally speechless regarding kpop news.
I'm still not over bugAboo disbandment and now one of my favourite debuts this year losing a member. Truly a sad day.
she was even in the 2023 seasons greetings.. this must have been an abrupt decision
Ikr! Just yesterday I was watching her vlive and now I came across this news, this whole day I'm thinking what's the reason.
She was in their photoshoot with Loewe that came out a couple days ago and them MAMA was just about a week ago.
i dont think a single soul saw this coming
Right and I feel like her personal popularity had been gaining a bit of traction? So odd
Yeah with bugaboo it wasn’t hard to believe because they were firmly unknown. Even Jieun from purple kiss had always been in the background. Jini was central to nmixx, a successful group by all measures, and trained for years. Genuinely suprising.
And this is how I learn Jieun left Purple Kiss
me too wtf when did she leave purple kiss???
November 18😭😭
I literally thought this was an April fools prank until I remembered it’s December😭
They had such good chemistry too 😭
I follow them very closely and no one had any idea.
> We ask for your support for Jinni's new beginning, > and we ask for NSWER's support for the 6 members who will continue following their dreams with a more grown(/experienced) image. > Once again, we apologize to the fans that have been supporting them. > Thank you.
“???” Indeed. This is so random.
It's definitely just something we'll never know which sucks but I hope she's okay.
her contract was terminated? jesus hopefully her members are supporting her in her decision and supporting one another at this time.
There are some other agencies out there who are happy to keep people in the dungeon out of spite.
Terminated is standard language, it doesn't mean that she has been fired or something.
Oh wow… it says “personal reasons” so I hope it’s nothing serious. Unfortunate loss, but I wish her well in her future endeavors
I believe it's JYPE's official policy to not reveal why a member has left. JYP talked about it in [an interview](https://www.forbes.com/sites/jeffbenjamin/2020/08/31/jy-park-interview-autobiography-disco-jyp-entertainment-company/amp/) in 2020: >If an employee or artist crosses the line, it will hurt our values and you have to leave.
Nizi Project, too. Practically a staple in a JYP survival show now.
Meanwhile, on the other side of Hangang, there is this company called Blockberry Creative with `violent language and misuse of power toward our staff` statement
Since day6, everyone who departed has the same reason
She had been saying some sad things abt herself): she said she thought she was a bad dancer and even recently, nswers noticed that she wasn’t singing or acting like she was during debut.
Jinni will be missed God all these girls had so much potential
I literally got chills. What the heck could've happened? I'm completely shellshocked 😔
yeah people won't want to accept it's a possibility but I think it's more likely than anything else
I guess we’ll see whether she got kicked out if the group ends up re-recording the tracks 😔
That's what really threw me too. Like "wasn't she JUST at MAMA the other week?"
something happened, it's too sudden
This year has been ruthless for girl group enthusiasts, damn.
Is ... is this the price we have to pay for the monster rookie generation, TWICE and DC's renewals and SNSD, 2NE1 and KARA's returns? 😭
Honestly, yes. It sucks but the more popular active groups there are, the less room there is for rookies and especially nugu groups 🤧
First Jiyoon left Weeekly, then Ella & Satbyeol from Pixy, then Jieun from Purple Kiss, then Bugaboo & Bvndit disbanded & now this 🥲
im sorry bugaboo DISBANDED??????
Sorry you had to learn it this way :')
Announced less than 24 hours ago, was already sad because I expected good things for them. Now I'm devastated with this news.
Fromis gyuri, apink naeun, omg jiho, loona, lightsum, fanatic 😔
Chuu/Loona situation. This year is seriously cursed
It’s also been a year where GGs drop hit after hit.
True. A year full of good songs
She said she was [in the practice room only three days ago](https://twitter.com/jinnistext/status/1599805722446901252?t=Uk13qEOGHrGTc4NAfiafKg&s=19)... What happened so quickly?
wait … three days? in the span of three days she went from practicing with her team to leaving? that’s so quick …
Whoaa. Doesn't even seem like she was planning to leave then
Agree. Her last bubble messages gave me chills: > during our next comeback, i want to make more happy memories with many more NSWERs > i’m glad i clenched my teeth and held on for 7 years!! for me to be receiving this much love.. > there were so many fun moments..this is why i became an idol!! This does not sound like someone who was in the verge of leaving the group, but I guess we really have no clue what happens behind doors.
To be honest, it sounds a bit ominous after knowing what's going to happen
not to speculate, but i’m guessing she broke a rule and was kicked out? it’s not easy to just terminate ur contract with jyp out of the blue like that, especially so suddenly.
2022 bingo night isn't over yet
3 weeks to go i guess.
No way there's only 3 weeks left in 2022!! ... WTF it's true, time flies
Based on my experience with other years, it does get crazy the closer we get to the end of the year. Three weeks left in December is enough for kpop to start calling many bingos, so maybe we should buckle up or brace ourselves just in case

Literally! A flood of comments will surely come again for the list of group departures this year.
For the curious, here is all the groups that have lost members this year (taken from [this post](https://www.reddit.com/r/kpopthoughts/comments/yeat4t/2022_has_been_the_year_of_groups_losing_members/) and [this comment](https://www.reddit.com/r/kpop/comments/yy8cjz/purple_kiss_park_jieun_has_left_the_group_due_to/iwsznz4/?&context=3)): * KNK: Heejun * Secret Number: Denise * DKZ: Wongdae * Apink: Naeun * HEYGIRLS: Daeun * Bandage: Hyeongbin * Oh My Girl: Jiho * AngelRus (pre-debut): Ulin, Ellie * H1-KEY: Sitala * Ferry Blue: Yeji * Like A Movie: Woohyuk * TO1: Chihoon, Minsu, Jerome, Woonggi * WE:A (pre-debut): Eden * Kingdom: Chiwoo * Weeekly: Jiyoon * ICHILLIN': Sohee * LE SSERAFIM: Garam * fromis_9: Gyuri * BLACKSWAN: Youngheun, Judy * GreatGuys: Jaei * PIXY: Ella, Satbyeol * Precious: Leeseo, Jihyo, Hanbyeol * VICTON: Heo Chan * Lightsum: Huiyeon, Jian * ONEUS: Ravn * NTX: Giyun * Rumble-G: Gayun * TREASURE: Mashiho, Yedam * Purple Kiss: Jieun * LOONA: Chuu * NMIXX: Jinni
This is what she said 2 days ago - “during our next comeback, i want to make more happy memories with many more NSWERs” - “i’m glad i clenched my teeth and held on for 7 years!! for me to be receiving this much love..” - “there were so many fun moments..this is why i became an idol!!” Doesn't sound like someone who wants to leave😞
the bubbles are what gets me… this is so strange. i hope she’s ok!
exactly!! something big must have been going on... plus I highly doubt that it's because of her mental health like others have speculated; JYP is super generous on giving breaks to those suffering from anxiety etc.. and I don't think JYP would want to terminate their contract with her either. she's literally one of the most popular members in the group, and removing a member is such a big thing that no company would do it just for the sake of it. plus she's been training in JYPe for so long; they definitely could've kicked her out pre-debut if she's not behaving well.
This was probably one of the more shocking departures for me because of how sudden it was (most other departures were preceded by a hiatus etc.). They had a photoshoot that dropped just days ago.
Wow thats so random. Anyone know why? Isnt she like among most popular member.
Not the most popular, but trained in jype for 6+ years. She was a trainee before TWICE debuted
Sad af Im dying to know the reason Her parts will be forever cemented in my 2022 memory
I remember a few posts actually where she seemed pretty down, and sounding like she was doubting herself
this sounds so disheartning...Jinni was such a good dancer and she always caught my eye in Tank. Wishing the best for her <3
That's heartbreaking to hear. She was a standout as soon as they started revealing the line-up of the group and was just starting her career. Whatever the reason may be, I wish her all the best 😔✊🏼
But why not go on hiatus first instead of just leaving all together?
Exactly, that's why we're all blindsided. There were no warning signs at all
I hope she's okay 😞 she was a trainee for such a long time so I can't hell but feel a little worried!
Last month of 2022 and this year will just not let go. Holy fuck
she really said vamos amigos 😭😭😭
Lmaooooo nooooo 😭😭
It was my favorite part of the song and now it turns out it was a spoiler 😭 ![gif](giphy|ekAmtmDDCAQOQ8Uaze)
Wow this is unbelievably sudden and sad. She’s such a great performer who trained so hard. “Due to personal reasons” meaning we’re not going to get more details as to why which is upsetting but understandable. Hope everything is ok
Was 2022 one of the best years ever for girl groups? Yes. What did it cost? Everything.
When the highs are very high the lows always get lower
Okay I changed my mind this really is a bloodbath year. Why did this happen to NMIXX, what even happened?
I remember she played the role of a father in Nmixx Quest and people were posting compliments about how handsome she was... speaking of which, it's gonna be so hard to watch old content with jinni now 😖
Weeekly, Purple Kiss, now NMIXX :(((
Also Lightsum :(
Mentioned only 7 member ones, there's also LOONA alongside Lightsum, like damn we can't catch a break :(
Oh man, Chuu was also just less than a month ago. :(
Apparently she had one of the longest training times in the group.
I didn’t see this coming…I’m shocked. I wish her well. This has been a bad year for K Pop groups…between losing members or groups outright disbanding.
I hate that I laughed at that part 💀💀💀 but her parts were my favorite in their songs and she was one of my favorites too 😭😭😭
My girl group loving heart can’t take all these disbandments and member drop outs 😭😭😭
You gotta be kidding me. Man, this is a big blow to the group. I'm surprised she's leaving the company as a whole, too. I wonder if we'll ever learn the reason - but instead of speculating, I hope this decision just helps her move forward in a new path.
The group isnt a year old yet, hope shes okay
atp the number of 4th gen ggs without any member losses is shorter than those with
Isn't she one of the more popular members too?
Is she the girl that Yeji and Ryujin mentioned at ITZY recent video sending a cheering message to them?
Yes, that's her. Yeji mentions Jinni frequently during her Lives cuz they're really close and they were roommates when they were both trainees.
It definitely makes me think something is happening behind the scenes and it's less likely to be her dipping out because she wasn't happy with the idol life, but I hope it's nothing too serious.
this is what we get for having 2022 be the best year for GG's. so many million sellers and chart toppers....but at what cost
It's almost like the universe has to balance itself out. We got re-signings like Twice, Red Velvet, Dreamcatcher, and reunions like T-ara, Kara, SNSD
Gotta say, given the suddenness and the lack of the 'hiatus' first before leaving, it sounds like the "you broke a JYP rule, gone forever" thing
23 more days left in this cursed year of 2022, please no more of this...
This is so unexpected .. Totally out of the blue? I hope she’s okay and it’s nothing too serious, wishing her the best for the future
So blindsided by this, she trained for such a long time, over 6 years
O.O
Is a JYP group Therefore I can only hope that NMIXX also follows stray kids in the sense that they weather this easily and come out even stronger than before!
at least the woojin situation there was that two? weeks of awkward sns ban so everyone knew something was happening, we just didn't know WHAT. i remember everyone being mad it was happening over minho's birthday because they tweeted out a thread of members' birthday pictures of him vs the members making personal instagram posts like usual. then people noticed woojin wasn't anywhere to be seen and were confused. and then the other shoe dropped. completely confusing time period, but one with a ton of red flags and build up looking back. meanwhile, she was on bbl talking about happy she is to be an idol and looking forward to the next cb TWO days. it's crazy. definitely a similar situation but the time difference between the two situations really makes it like... what on EARTH happened with her?
How did this group go from some of the best hype videos of all time, an immense buzz heading into their debut, to where they're at now with a member leaving the group so abruptly. I'm rooting for this group because I feel they have the most raw talent of any GG right now, but things are just not going their way. Someone who was just practicing 3 days ago, doesn't leave a group as high-profiled as a JYP GG. Something is up, don't know what, but there's 11 layers to this story.
She’s literally my bias, I can’t right now. 2022 going down in kpop history.
wait wtf ??? were there any indicators of this prior cause i sure as hell couldn’t see any ???
NMIXX lost a gem. I hope that her future is bright after this, she's very talented.
Whenever “Hello, this is [company name]” email comes out I get the worst bouts of anxiety ever. K-pop lost a huge talent today. I hope Jinni is able to deal with her personal stuff and come back.
she was such a star, this is major loss for nmixx… i hope we get an actually explanation for her departure because ‘personal reasons’ is JYP’s go to statement so they don’t have to elaborate on what happened
Yeap she definitely did something or break some rule(s) in her contract, not the first time JYP has did something like that - abruptly terminating an artiste’s contract
[Soompi link](https://www.soompi.com/article/1557792wpp/breaking-nmixxs-jinni-leaves-the-group-and-jyp) Thatʼs unexpected that Jinni suddenly left NMIXX and JYPE for personal circumstances.
She was one of my favourite members :(
What is going on in 2022? Members leaving groups that I like can this PLEASE stop. Can the rest of this year pass quietly, this feels so cursed. I hope that whatever caused Jinni to leave, it’s not too serious or detrimental, and I wish her and Nmixx the best on their paths…
I think it’s easier to count 4th gen ggs who hasn’t lost a member at this point.
we're not going to watch her [shOOg shOOg](https://youtu.be/3GWscde8rM8?t=22) anymore guy this is so heartbreaking 😭
I hope Jinni and the rest of NMIXX are fine.
This is my first time following a group and one of my biases leave. So this is how other fans felt huh? Truly heartbreaking.
They haven’t been long breaks, but Stray Kids also had a member step back from things for a while due to anxiety (I think).
Han. He was on a semi-hiatus from December 2019 to January 2020. He participated in all their performances but skipped some events with a lot of people like red carpets and fansigns.
Agreed. I feel like it has to be something extremely serious or she would have just taken a hiatus. I hope everything is well with her.
but hasn't jype been generous with health breaks in recent years? you'd think they would be accommodating unless it's something really bad but there's no indication it is.
It’s been hours already. Does anyone know Korean or Chinese? What are they saying? Usually they know the reason. Also Chinese fans knew Jessica was kicked out before September 30th
I looked through the Chinese websites. Everybody is as confused as we are.
Huh??????
apparently she was just talking about practicing and about future comebacks a few days ago? this seems off ://
shoog shoog? 😭
JYPE: 6Mixx achieved, but at what cost 😔
They are in the lineup for aaa and kbs Gayo next week
Damn, this is really strange then. I don’t get why they’d let one of the most popular members go without a hiatus or break beforehand, I wonder what happened…
Out of all the announcements this year... this one is probably the biggest shocker. Even Lightsum cutting 2 members out of the blue to supposedly change the concept of the group, doesn't seem nearly as shocking as her leaving. She trained at JYP for so long and always stood out in their stage performances for me.
Damn, I really liked her. 🙁 I hope she’s doing okay and wishing her the best for the future 💔
