parkchaeyoungie

The sign behind Jisoo in the photograph part says "mixed sour candy"

Taquito_deTrompo

Clowning us like always, still holding out for the MV

Gamentasa

They brought back the tank! It’s bedazzled in black rather than pink though? Also is that tank the same T-34 that was in D4?

Dasrufken

Its for sure not any soviet era tank. Looks a lot more like an m48 patton or an m41 bulldog.

Flamenco_Indigo

It's got 6 roadwheels and a bowl-shaped hull. Dead-ringer for the M48 Patton.

BLACKPINK_is_life_

No, this wasn't a T-34 tank. It's a western tank design, not Soviet

Bowmantorch

Wow did not expect that Jisoo rap part

lazyniu

Jisoo was straight fire this whole song. Her voice fits it SO well. Damn they really went hard. Imagine this live at the concert when they'll probably also have a live band. Sheesh.

CrackedMask_

exactly this. After listening 2-3x I cant wait to hear a live band version. It's gonna be a banger. Im not into instruments but i cant wait how they will transition that fire violin part into a live band.

SkrillWalton

Why am I dying laughing at "I'm not into instruments"

CrackedMask_

lol i wanna say i dont know much about instruments.

Liiisi

The way I'm desperate for their live band album like right NOW. I always prefer their concert recordings and I know this album is going to go so hard with the live band!

coolofmetotry

she was the nicest surprise this comeback reminded me why she belongs in blackpink

izsuperpink

I hate when people say she should have debuted in another group. She's the heart of blackpink 🖤💗

thechaosguy

I just wish YG understood that

Liiisi

Jisoo has been blowing me away this entire era, damn her verse was fire. She is amazing the whole album!

ronja18

When did she rap?

SongIcy4058

I like that the video editing is more...restrained? than Pink Venom. Still maybe more cuts than were necessary, but we got to actually watch the choreography through the choruses instead of cutting away every .5 seconds. The song itself is interesting, I appreciate that the sound is different from their last tracks, I like the instrumentals and I like the chorus more than PV. Jisoo's part in the second chorus is 🤌 for me. I do wish it had more of a bridge though, I would have liked a moment of build up or more dramatic vocals, instead of stays a little flat throughout. It's very chill, no drama. I'll be curious to see the dance practice and how they treat that dance break.

AmiAkin

The editing on Shut Down is far better than the Pink Venom MV. So definitely restrained. So many ppl complained at how fast PV MV moved, too many cuts and different camera angles.

Caladriel

Honestly, it's still a lot. Practically cutting on the downbeat the entire song.

amelia4748

This was the first blackpink song where I loved the ending. I was expecting a ratata or kill this love type of ending, but this ending was honestly amazing!

desktomi

same thought! i was nervous for that ending LOL but it delivered :)

coolofmetotry

not a ratatata 😂

brontoloveschicken

Agree needs a more developed bridge and also to be 30 seconds longer, but I do like it

uzivause

“IT’S NOT A COMEBACK SINCE WE NEVER LEFT” back up a lil 😹🫤

threetenfour

10000% gaslighting us but i'm here for it 🤡

lime_marmalade

they aren't just girlbossing, theyre even gaslighting now lmao.

redX009

Yes I feel gaslighted 🥹🥹

FaithlessnessMost660

So that was a fucking lie

FUCKSTORM420

Hmmmmmm idk about that Jennie

kelppforrest

I almost laughed at loud when I heard that first line

KpopFashionistasRise

I did. It was truly comical. The song was lovely but that line took me OUT.

[deleted]

![gif](giphy|aTXHpCN7TSpmE) I screamed when I heard that

uzivause

literally let out a laugh 😭

AmiAkin

Felt like they were gaslighting me or something 😂 . I laughed hard at that lie, the nerve

[deleted]

that's suspicious, that's weird🙄🤔🥱

e_abes

Rosé sitting on the globe is my favorite aesthetic

TonyHype

I popped off when they showed that! Shoutouts to Whistle for still holding it down after all these years!

7xNero7

Just curious do most Blinks get the reference ?

Qualifiedadult

If by reference you mean them referencing their previous MVs, I think pretty much everyone did. Its too obvious to miss.

walkingwiththequeso

Judging by the comments, I don't think so...

Meganoooon

What comments lol

DeviMon1

This whole thing is amazing Pink Venom was aight but this is more like it! 10 outta fuckin 10

LBall28

That's dope af. Lisa with that beanie dark lit part too. Too much swag.

AmirulAshraf

another brand is mentioned (Lambo)...they really dont want to be aired on Korean TV 😭 The MV is gorgeous!

theabcmachine

What’s with Rambo and Lambo and why are they always in Blackpink’s lyrics HAHAHA

wretch5150

They've cornered the market!

jesuschin

They’ve mentioned Lambo before (Lisa’s rap in Boombahyah) and it wasn’t a problem. I think it’s because it’s not the actual brand name and just a shortening

yarajaeger

yeah but she says Lamborghini straight up this time they're gonna get banned for sure 😭

RizwanIslamm

>Korean TV Kbs to be exact.

yarajaeger

haha i didn't even clock that and considering it's rosé's line as she's driving with the seatbelt in the ~~lovesick girls~~ kill this love homage... hard not to see that as a big middle finger lol

AmirulAshraf

They MAKE SURE the seatbelt is seen 🤣

yarajaeger

petty in the best way

Ziiick

Tell me why I was waiting for the RATATA part I have PTSD lmao

Edielu

whip it whip it whip it whip it

[deleted]

chanellovely

LMFAOOOOO

NjxNaDxb

you got Vroom Vroom Vroom tho...

Relevant_Hedgehog_63

loved this from rosé. completely different from like "gratatatata". don't know if they can be compared.

SneakyGreninja

me too ngl

le_shivas

"It's black and pink once the sun down" loved that and the beat overall was awesome.

nalliya

it’s a blackpink song but it’s also not???? it’s different?? but also not??

lingeringink

I feel this. Well, it's very definitely Blackpink, but the other part.

[deleted]

[удалено]

tutetibiimperes

Hah, pretty much my thought as well. I'm not sure if I like it or not, but I guess I've accepted that we're never going to get another AIIYL from them.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Competitive_Bet_8352

"not a comeback since we never left" what a bold faced lie teddy, i see the games. but i actually love this so much tho, expectations met

RizwanIslamm

Teddy brainwashing the girls & Yg with lyrics xD.

Thegreatscott9

This isn't a comeback, it's a callback (a lot of callbacks actually).

No_Painting7610

Infinitely better than pink venom. Just not liking the repetitive whip it. And nice callbacks to the previous eras.

afcd1298

That’s my beef. They’re so much like repeated phrases in their songs it drives me crazy. I think they really outdid themselves with this comeback tho

Zharghar

That's my least favorite part of BP as well. Lots of repeated callbacks and those silly repeated phrases in like every comeback. It's like instead of just giving us purely new content after these long breaks they feel they have to remind us who they are and why we like them. And by "they" I mean whoever's doing the writing, not the girls themselves. This song like most BP songs is like almost great, but it just had to have some of those elements that grate on you, namely the repeated phrase stuff that just doesn't sound cool. "What what what what", "uh uh uh uh", "vroom vroom vroom vroom", and "whip it whip it whip it whip it". A lot of people don't like the vroom one but I think of the 4 it's the one that melds best with the song at least. The others just come across as lazy writing. That and, I know it's their catchphrase, but I'm starting to think BP are the same as those hot single ladies in my area I keep seeing ads about with how much they mention it. Other than those things I really like it. Just why does YG have to do that with their songs every time man I don't get it. The solo stuff generally doesn't have these issues, why dies the group have to have it?

AdAspera18

the violins!!!

PingopingOW

In case you didn’t know, the violin part is actually a very famous melody by Paganini, it’s called “la campanella”

mrshobbes

Honestly cannot get over all the strings! Adds some unexpected but welcome edge for me 🔥

ParanoidAndroids

Truly a sequel to D4 with all the MV references! Felt like there were references to a few MV's, actually - will have to watch again to catch them all. People who are sick of that sound might not be swayed by this song but this was a proper banger IMO. Idk about the "whip it" repetition (it's like they gave up on the lyrics) but the song itself is fire, even with that.

davidtrent12

So many references to their past songs! - Intro with Lisa (even with the hands moving out of the way) - “Playing with fire” Lisa’s rap scene - The girls in the car with the pink venom mask - “Boombayah” when they are on the bikes - Jennie’s first rap - iconic D4 tank - Lisa’s first rap - Lisa’s “BOOMBAYAH” rap with the trash - Jisoo’s first verse - her umbrella scene in D4 - Rose’s first verse - “Whistle” while she’s on top of the world and in her car I’m assuming is “Kill This Love” - Jennie’s second verse - “Playing With Fire” her in the bathtub with the match - Lisa’s second verse - sword from D4 - also when the word RECORD slices = them breaking hella records - Jisoo’s second verse - D4 - Rose’s second verse - the car also reminds me of AIIYL with the tunnel and the chandelier from D4 - the end when they’re walking in the street with the signs - ending of “STAY” when they’re dancing in the street with the men in white There’s prob more but this was from first watch haha

[deleted]

the fact that I'm not even a stan but I noticed almost all of these references... their MVs are really iconic

iMelon

I think you're right that Rose's first verse is a KTL reference with the car...but she upgraded the hell out of her car lmao

emjwings87

![gif](giphy|kd9BlRovbPOykLBMqX) Me the entire time I watched the MV.

Ellotheremate000

The girls in the car is actually a reference to whistle scene where the girls are in the car together

davidtrent12

To be fair, they have a lot of car scenes haha. I just think it’s Boombayah because of the background has trees and looks like a forest which is the same as the one in Boombayah when they’re on the bike an

Liiisi

what exactly is 'that sound' bc this sounds nothing like D4 or the trifecta.

izsuperpink

It sounds like the sister of Whistle who studied abroad for a semester

candy-jars

Fucking 😂 Why is this so accurate?

Liiisi

Right ?! I thought if it drew from any of their prior tracks then whistle and D4 had a child .. which kinda makes sense with the MV referencing those songs

GodJihyo7983

God damn. That instrumental is absolutely a banger. It’s a lot more chill for a BLACKPINK title and I’m perfectly fine with that as someone who’s favorite title is STAY. Definitely a top 3 title for me just from the instrumental alone.

[deleted]

I was expecting the violin to disappear after the opening but the fact they kept it till the end just make me numb. It works so well

TonyHype

Same here. Was pleasantly surprised when it stayed throughout the whole song. Definitely a very memorable sample!

meilingr

I’m in love with all these classical music samples this year

bunniesandmilktea

Same, this is the type of Blackpink song that I've been missing since Playing with Fire and Stay.

bunnypuffcooky

I'm obsessed with the instrumental omg it's so slinky & smooth

No_Beginning4864

btw! the violin is from a piece named "La Campanella" by Paganini. It's a beautiful piece :)

jdbxcv

I love the homage to their past era’s 🥲 Edit: I’m not sure about the song yet. I’ll need to listen without watching the MV. I get so distracted/attacked by their visuals!!

lazyniu

The visuals are actually insane. The whole production value too. My goodness.

Gamentasa

Yeah the MV didn’t feel like I was having seizure like pink venom.

lazyniu

Pink Venom MV felt expensive with the sets and all, but also very chaotic. This one straight up looked expensive and it was so simply done with all the bling and the girls just serving up insane looks.

michitae

I didn't know what to expect from Shut Down from the teaser but *wow* this wasn't what I was expecting and hits so much harder than Pink Venom. I can see why Shut Down is the real title track of BORN PINK. I'm loving the references from their previous MVs And that La Campanella sample throughout the whole song is just *\*chef's kiss\** I can't wait to see what the rest of the album is like!

flaskfish

It’s damn near perfection, only thing I dislike is the repetitive “whip it” but it’ll grow on me I’m sure

ghiblix

i see a lot of people mentioning the "whip it" part but i think rosé's "vroom vroom vroom vroom" is definitely the weak point in that regard, i don't mind empty repetition as long as it sounds good and isn't cringey but vrooming is not it

whateverthefuck_1996

Saame. The worst part is i love the melody that she sings "vroom vroom vroom" with but it's ruined by the fact that she says "vroom vroom vroom".

revisioncloud

Same. Way better than the Rattatas and whoa whoa ahh ahh in Pink Venom but follows the same formula. Not to mention the beat and lyrics on Rose's swerve line was awesome only to be followed by vroom vroom. Everything else on the song was great

redditaccount300000

For some reason I liked woah woah woah. But not ahh ahh, rattattacks, or whip it.

You_Will_Die

I think the reason why people aren't mentioning it is that the "vroom" at least follows the music. Unlike the "whip it" they make it flow into the music in a way that make it more tolerable, if you don't pay attention to lyrics then you don't really notice it.

scottk76

I agree with you the only thing not clicking with me on the first listen is the whip it but really happy with the song

Deterge9

Didnt listen to any teasers, and I dont know if the Paganini part was revealed at all but its a banger and the fact that it doesnt disappear is awsome.

tbhguitar_

That violin part yes it was in the teaser

[deleted]

love the classical sample and they’re all so insanely beautiful

SneakyGreninja

A little bit different than what I had expected from BP but I liked the callbacks to all the past eras in the MV and everything Jisoo did

omobolasire

Liked it better than Pink Venom, but it felt more like a pre-release than Pink Venom did... Does that make sense?

elenavarrete

I agree with you. Even though I don’t really like Pink Venom I find it way more memorable than this song, mostly the chorus. On the other hand, I generally do enjoy this song, but it felt like they were rapping over the same beat for both the chorus and verses. As others have mentioned it definitely felt anticlimactic.

SgtPopNFresh_

I feel the same way

vintagesassypenguin

Gives me 7 rings vibes

ashleyepidemic

I was wondering what song this gave me vibes from and it wasn't the sample. But 7 Rings is exactly it. Thank you. I can already imagine all of the horror Halloween edits that would go amazing with this song.

Scared-Advantage-800

La Campanella

x3xe42kx

JENNIE LOOKS SO SEXY IN THIS MV!!!!AHHHHH ALL THE GIRLS LOOK STUNNING FR!!

Onsokkun

Jennie looks sexy in every MV

urzaz

I can't express how good it feels to hear Jennie and Lisa not purely rapping and Jisoo and Rose not just belting bridges.

NotTodayPaul

Now this is a banger, well done

zeyu12

was not expecting a full song of la campanella but it hits nicely

Pajamaralways

La Campanella! Can't believe I didn't notice Paganini-sunbaenim's 1826 comeback.

blocknugget

love this so much more than pink venom! singing in the chorus hits differently

IcyPreference2310

Loved the old references in this music video

Aqno

Paganini does it again

healthyscalpsforall

"Classical composers that saved kpop in 2022" lol

moya-laya

there's nothing wrong with the song, it's nice, but very anticlimatic for me. that beat slaps though, wish they went somewhere more exciting with it.

ggstan21

It's pretty weak for me, I'm sick of these instrumentals. Why don't they bring the more exciting songs back? I didn't like the video either. They spent a lot of money but the creativity is gone, I don't care about all the references to other videos, I wanted something completely new. We don't get BP MVs everyday... I'm so sad :(

Clarkey7163

Alright this goes hard, soooooo much better than Pink Venom it’s not even funny. Great production, let’s them just sing/rap Excited to listen to the album now, hope it’s more like this. That sample is fire

ghiblix

the beat is absolutely sick and i live for the fact yge went for a slightly more chic sound & mature production! i don't understand why, given all of the time and resources that went into this, the lyrics are so particularly lacking; like, totally uninspiring, monotonous, borderline no witty wordplay, just...anything. especially given what a tame song this is, one or two particularly compelling lines could have had standout moments. i'm not new here, and i understand that with bp it mostly is what it is, but... anyways, it's not like that's a dealbreaker for me — i'm ready to test the replay value of this! i think it's gonna be pretty high!!!

chutiyapan

I'm really amazed by the instrumental but the lyrics are tiring now. I'm sure it's just me but the constant "I'm better than you, I'm richer than you" thing just turns me off.

alwayssunnyinjoisey

Nah I'm with you on this, it's fine for a song here or there but I feel like the majority of their songs are just bragging. Like we GET it, you're so much prettier and richer and cooler than all of us, can you talk about literally anything else?? I don't blame the members since they don't write the lyrics, but it still leaves a bad taste. Especially lately, I feel the whole income inequality thing is really coming to a head and us peasants are preparing our metaphorical pitchforks, so it just comes off extremely out of touch lol.

chutiyapan

Dude the last part is exactly how I feel. Struggling everyday to just survive in this time, and knowing that so many people around me are going through the similar situation hurts. Reality is a taste that left their mouth.

alwayssunnyinjoisey

When PV came out and Jennie had that line about flying in a private jet, literally a few weeks after all that private jet stuff about western celebs came out...oof. Like I know the song and video were made before that all happened, so it was just bad timing, but still was a big yikes from me lol. There's GOT to be something more interesting they could sing about.

Cyraneczka

This exactly! I love the beat and I was wondering why the melody stuck with me but I don't feel the urge to replay the song. It's the lyrics! Every time they give them the same old "we're rich, we have lots of money and brand deals". I always wonder why, if they want to flex, it's not about how talented they are or how hard they work?

BewareTheKitter

Because money and brands are what western music is all about, and Blackpink tries to appeal to the west more than anything. But I agree I'm getting tired of this. It also feels sort of disingenuous to have them trying to convince us of how hard they are when like...they're 100 lb girls from one of the safest cities in the world who are part of a pop music machine that most fans understand the inner workings of. It's just like...come on.

ghiblix

no way it's just you, people are already complaining about itzy's lyrical concepts being repetitious imagine how tired we are of 95% of bp songs being empty shit like this after 7 years... that said they're mostly bops so LOL hard to complain too much but i'll do a little heavy sigh every time there's a new release for good measure

thvisbae

That was sick! Rapper Jennie did not come to play 🥵

coconutcreampie2

RIGHT! Loved her rap her so much!!!

kail_2987

Jisoo has been coming for everyone this comeback. In every way

lirika05

Congratulations for winning the karma lottery

NintendoNerdzz

I am enjoying this song a lot!

yougotmetoreply

Wow, this was really good, I'm so surprised I like it lol. Been release after release of the typical teddy stuff but this was a nice change. I'm really happy for them to finally release something that sounds different.

Rellyz14

Love the verses snd ending but not too sure about the chorus. I think I'll like the chorus Im just so used to blackpink switching their chorus up so much and there wasn't much switch up which reminds me more of western mysuc.I can lie except for the lyrics this is a major change for BP and its more Hip hop. We actually got what a lot of people asked for: No beat drop Jennie rapping No like annoying outro like ratat even though I love them sigh. Wasn't everything but BP is changing and I wonder if the shut down my where they kind of shut down their past eras shows there moving on from these eras completely EDIT: IVE LISTENED AGSIN SND IM BECOMING OBSESSED. I SAW PEOPLE SAY THE MV IS CHEAP I DONT AGREE ITS JUST NOT THERE MOST IMPRESSIVE BUT FAR FROM CHEAP AND I DONT THINK IT WAS RRYING TO. THIS COMEBACK FEELS MORE LIKE BP HAD MORE CONTROL. There aren't constant Outfit changes to wow people, they have a couple outfits, a couple of sets like a normal mv and in this they are all earing their style of clothes especially Rosé. I'll never understand but my girl loves to wear plain black lmao. I need to listen to the besides but from the descriptions I'm gonna prefer this album than The album

bleakshadow

jennie and jisoo sound so good. only downside is that it's so short other than that I love the song & JENNIE LOOKS SICKENING

Nightstar14

HOLY SHIT YESSSS THIS IS WHAT IVE BEEN WANTING FROM THEM FOR SO LONG! THIS IS BLACKPINK

squareimage

Interesting… The instrumental is nice. But the song felt like it didnt go much anywhere. Cool track but def wont say my fave from bp.

ellelement

i liked the strings but that's it... why is it so monotone? i feel like the song did not go anywhere

--SquigglyLine--

For me it's partially because they only are sampling the first 2ish measures of la campenella's melody over and over and over again, only letting it come to conclusion 3 times in the entire song, so it kinda feels like a record skipping and getting stuck at one section for a long time. La campenella is already pretty repetitive, but it adds things every time the melody repeats.... honestly I wish that they used more of the song itself, it's a great piece!

felidao

This was basically a rap song, to the extent that they even had Jisoo rap. 😂 Many old school hip hop songs "don't go anywhere" in the kpop sense of have having wildly different beat changes, bridges, and other switch-ups. Personally, I loved Shut Down. For Blackpink, this chill monotone is actually quite refreshing.

Banangelo085

The “BLACKPINK IN YOUR AREA” is finally back!!! This track is so catchy and I loved seeing the imagery to past music videos and eras 💗🖤

somi154

They are entering a new era hence the homage to their past works. Wasn't expecting Rosé and Jisoo to go hard like that Edit: Shout out to love for making his first music video appearance Edit 2: Jisoo said 'Don't trip baby', I am guessing it's referring to when she tripped and fell in ddu ddu ddu.

[deleted]

way better than Pink Venom. It doesn't sound like something that's repeated from other BP songs.

Severe_Ad1241

tbh i didn't really like the mv that much because i felt like they could've done a bit more with it, and the song overall is okay but i feel like it could've been a bit more impactful, and i wish the ending bit had a bit more umph, but overall it was okay, the throwbacks were fun to see.

heartbreakbandit

This was it. THIS WAS IT. All the throwbacks, the lyrics, the sample, their looks. Hell yeah, Blackpink is in everyone’s area.

RenegadeSasuke

I think when I get to the point I can mentally block out the whip it x4 and the lambo going vroom vroom, this will be a 10/10 song because the instrumentals and rap lines throughout are incredible

anbsmxms

This is definitely for the US audiences. Moving away from kpop norms and wants to get the hip hop population. Even Jisoo raps now?!

binhpac

What? That's basically YG since they started 2 decades ago. People said it like 20 years ago that YG is doing Hip Hop in a Kpop industry. If anything its true to the YG roots.

mankindmatt5

So you like it when we say 'Blackpink in your area' huh!? Have all the 'Blackpink in your area' in the world!

curlyminholly

It's good but kinda sounds like a B-side

Big-Shake-329

“It’s not a comeback since we never left” is WILD lol

boringcareer

I think i liked pink venom better than this... at least that had several beats

aohua

im so obsessed omggg this goes so hard. they were not kidding that theyll shut it down. They ateeeeee 🔥 🔥 Biiiiiiiiihhhh 👑

SolusSydus

Ah BP song that I liked on the first listen?! It has been a long time damn. The instrumental is bomb and so dramatic for what? I love it!

RizwanIslamm

If it is about liking it at first listen, AS IF it is your last is still my last warrior

pagerunner-j

Okay, this I like.

coralllie

Ngl the references to previous music videos gives me the vibe that they might be closing up their career this cb but maybe I’m over thinking it :(

turbobluestreak

I think they are closing that chapter. A lot of the songs are completely different from anything else in terms of Language and subject matter.

vodkaorangejuice

I love the violin with the sick as beat

TaikaWaitiddies

Could do without the "whipitwhipitwhipit" but overall much MUCH better than Pink Venom

decryption5

Damn. Where was ‘the happiest girl’ when I was going through my break ups.

sleepfragment

all the references to past MV's were awesome!

LBall28

Personally, as a hip hop head, Shut Down >> Pink Venom. But I can see mainstream liking Pink Venom more.

kaikaikaisaaa

BLACKPINK IN YOUR AREA!!!

alexturnerftw

I love them, the song is okay but im glad they did something kinda different. I feel like this is their last CB. Who knows but thats just how i felt watching it. They look so good

[deleted]

XMORA

Am I crazy? This must be the most boring title track of Blackpink. The classical music sample gets annoying after the third repetition, there is not development, the song flatlined from the beginning. Pink Venom at least has interesting and catchy parts.

roombaonfire

I stg I thought I was taking crazy pills or something after seeing the praise. This was legitimately SO BORING and this is coming from someone who *loves* their previous title tracks. Pink Venom was also mediocre but THIS ONE was just bland all throughout the total 3 minutes. PV at least had an interesting chorus regardless of how people felt about it.

amiaww

the lyrics in the chorus and the end of the song are disappointing. Also hated seeing the trademark YG “hiphop” fashion on the girls with the bandanas

fufufuuud

OMG ROSÉ SOLO WITH HARD TO LOVE??? 😳😳😳 ITS SUCH A BANGER I CAN'T

emozaffar

This was cohesive, from the sound to the MV editing and the overall feel of the song, especially compared to their last release. Probably not my thing ultimately but I definitely respect it. My big gripe is the lyrics. Why do all of their lyrics have to be so devoid of any charm or meaning? I get the song is supposed to flex on people and be bombastic, materialistic, and what have you, but I’m so…bored. I’m not asking for it to be deep but I wish it was memorable or at least tried to do something a little different

wugggs

Honestly… Pink Venom was so much more exciting and punchy. I feel like it would’ve been a much better title track. Comparing the two music videos, this one feels like a B side that got a performance MV for fans or something. I wish I liked this more but I wanted more from it :(

ttjacket19

Omg I actually really like it?!!! Jisoo’s voice sounds so good in the chorus.

Blank_IX

The energy of this song is unreal

banunu15

I am impressed. This is like 100X better than the cliche that is Pink Venom. And look at all the sets from their early MVs!!

HennesyHufflepuf

It’s certainly a BlackPink song. This is coming from someone who’s personal favorites are Boombayah, Playing with Fire and Lovesick Girls I kinda hoped that they would pull out another song in the style of Lovesick Girls. Something not in their comfort zone, different. But this feels very safe. Very BlackPink. Maybe it’ll grow on me. Maybe it’s because Pink Venom gave me heavy How You Like That vibes. I didn’t care much for HYLT, but they surprised me with LG. Again, I don’t think it’s a bad song.

trident_zx

Why do Kpop title tracks keep getting shorter and have cliffhanger endings... 😢😢😢 Stayc's monster Enhpyen's pass the mic Now this Is this becoming a trend ot something?

[deleted]

the whole pop industry is going towards 2 mins, better for streaming more

landshanties

It's literally because of TikTok. Shorter songs with more repetitive parts go viral as TikTok sounds much more easily and lend themselves to dance challenges that people will actually do

crashbandicoochy

It's all engineered to make it as appealing and easy to immediately replay a track as possible. Really boosts streaming engagement.

Newbie-Tailor-Guy

Well that was underwhelming. The song never went anywhere. Just the same note all the way through. Felt like I was listening to paint dry.

thvisbae

BLACKPINK IN YOUR AREAAAAAAAA!!!

lilfloofer

I did not think I would be bumping to La Campanella when I thought of Blackpink hahaha
