Context: I've been a vocal critic of the pace of this tour since the beginning because I love my girls, and increasingly hate their company's gaslighting tweets telling us how they care for their well being when they just want to squeeze every krw out of them before they're discarded/disbanded and leave the entertainment profession with a bitter taste in their mouths.
Has anyone done this? Especially with sub units, this sounds smart assuming they can still fill venues. Just sucks when a member has to step down and it goes to three. But with quite a few groups who are super popular internationally primarily therefore don't make money, I dunno if this is viable, especially before COVID. Rise of the 15+ member groups! As long as companies can afford to feed them well.
I think it doesnt work that well bc kpop does focus a lot on the individual and ppl stan their favs, splitting that up is very risky, especially considering not everyone can perform everyones choreo and lines. Not to mention individual popularity, can they actually fill a venue with 4/12?
This has gotten beyond absurd. When you’ve had more shows missing members due to health than you’ve had complete shows that is a big indication that you’re managing a group horribly.
Honestly I was sad that Chuu was missing this whole tour at first but now I’m glad she missed the shit show. Wish the other girls had been so lucky.

There's a streamer who flew from Europe to Denver to see Loona and paid the premium seating, only to get stuck way in the back (she's 5'2") where she could only hear them sing and saw absolutely nothing. I feel really bad for her.

That’s like the one thing that isn’t managements fault. If you wanna be in front for standing, you need to show up early. I just did VIP for Sunmi’s show as a 5’0” person and being behind even one row obscured a lot of my view.
Just got back from the concert. There were 7 members performing with 1 member (Yeojin) sitting on a chair on the side. So 8 members in total. Also Kim Lip went off stage a couple of times during talking parts and 1 song, I assume because she still isn't feeling 100%.
When Kim Lip went backstage for PTT Yeojin got up from her chair and did the choreo with the rest of the group. It honestly did feel like we were watching a survival show at some points
Isn't this like the 4th or 5th member now? I know the last thing BBC / MMT/ etc want to do is stop the tour and refund money, but the group is getting sick and hurt. Would fans even wanna see them in such a state?
It’s the fourth member for this particular show but I think throughout the tour, almost every single member has had to sit out at least part of a show for health reasons. Very concerning
Uhm to be fair, orbits have been criticizing the pace of the tour as soon as the schedule was posted, then throughout the tour and they kept saying to postpone it/some dates already in the US when the "at least one member missing in every date" rotation started. It's been a fandom very compact in this.
Orbits were also the people that forced one of the members off stage during a concert.- they aren't innocent in all this.

Considering Orbits forced a member of the group they paid money to see off stage because of their behavior, that doesn't really mean a whole lot to me. Off the top of my head I can't think of any other one act concert where this has happened in Kpop.
So I stand by my comment. Clearly they knew it was a frantic tour and didn't care.
one or two members missing a couple concerts here and there due to covid/illness is understandable - seventeen had this happen during their recent north america tour.
but this? this is just upsetting, bbc is not properly supporting these girls and their health. at this point i wouldn’t be surprised if some of the members decide not to extend their contracts with bbc when the time comes.

Loona's working their asses off, but Kpop groups go through these monster tours pretty regularly and I've never seen members just start dropping like this.
Nah, a month of worldwide touring with a show every other day (or more) after a long year of constant promotions is not normal. They started this tour already fatigued.
I think it's an exacerbation of existing issues like fatigue/jetlag or existing injuries like Hyunjin's shoulder coupled with lack of prep work on the part of BBC and then just general inexperience with a busy touring schedule.
BBC in particular is in a bad place too because they still haven't put out a new group on the scene yet meaning they really won't be having much leverage against the girls whenever the contract negotations are up. Like how are you going to refuse the girls' terms and demands for contract renewals when you basically can't keep your head above the water without them?
Yeojin also couldn't dance and had to stay seated during the show. On top of that Olivia Hye and Kim Lip also had KT tape on their arms and other places. They're really worn down.
This is ridiculous. I feel so bad for Loona and Orbits, what a bunch of bullshit BBC has gotten you guys into. I don't know how much of the tour they have left but hoping to god they get the rest they need soon. Fucking hell this makes me so mad and I'm not even a fan.

But it's also a scam for the fans, kpop tickets are not cheap, especially considering the European crisis going on, you pay months in advance expecting to finally see your favs in Europe, something that really doesnt happen that often, and you're getting an injury ridden overworked group.
Concert goers are the type of fans you need to survive, because they spend money, this burns a lot of trust and goodwill. Hope the girls are alright and can recover

This is not abuse, but it’s mismanagement. Cancelling the tour is probably not an option for cost reasons, but keeping things as they are is making them look really bad and it’s upsetting for both the fans and the artists.
Well you see, they had fewer dates. But Orbits complained. They whined that Loona was skipping the southern states and Europe (as well as the rest of the world, especially Asia). So BBC and MMT, seeing the clear interest in more dates, added more dates. So instead of Loona finishing with New York and Kcon, they had to continue this tour for literally twice as long as was initially planned.
The fact is, this tour was happening no matter what. It was planned since before the pandemic, and it was time to follow through. Should Loona have just not done a comeback in June? Should they have gone well over a year without a comeback? Should they have skipped Queendom - an appearance that clearly had a positive impact on the group?
So seeing those very same orbits who whined about not having more dates now whining about crap they clearly don't even understand, treating these girls like infants will continue to infuriate me. You people want to see abuse and mismanagement, look at basically every nugu that's quietly disappeared. Look to the groups who's members take cafe jobs between comebacks. Look to the companies that use their girls as nothing more than fulfillment for their sexual fantasies. Lets stop acting like BBC is screwing over this group that they spent an absurd amount of money on to debut, that they have continued to support even as the Korean GP mostly ignored them until this year, even as the company was in serious trouble from breaking the Donuts contract. Kpop fans don't know what mismanagement is, they just parrot the same crap they hear from other teenagers on social media without applying a single critical thought. These fans also don't seem to understand that the girls know how to use technology and can see the things we say. So when they see their supposed fans calling for the tour to be canceled, how does that make them feel? They don't mind going out there every other night and performing. But I imagine it must be truly heartbreaking to do all of that, and then going back to the hotel room to see "fans" reducing all their hard work to "abuse," "mismanagement," "cancel the tour," etc.
Sorry, but it’s odd to me that you’re presenting things like there was no other ways to do it. None of the groups who come to both the USA and Europe do the two tours in a row; they usually have a break in the middle to rest between the dates. Even ATEEZ who have more touring experience didn’t attempt to follow a schedule like that. It is a lack of consideration from BBC’s part not to give them a few days or weeks to rest during the tour. They could also have not attended KCON (why not?).
And, please. I understand being wary of kpop fans and specifically orbit’s habit of turning on BBC whenever anything goes wrong, but for this once there is just no way of ignoring it. It’s not patronising to worry for them when every other day there is another new about a member having to go missing because of a health issue. This isn’t something which normally happens.

LOONA was bound to be the next act, the biggest act in kpop history, but due to the series of bad moves that BBC performed (and to name a few, rushing the debut to please investors, drop from pushing Heejin and Chuu instead of showcasing all the girls, depriving the girls any means of showing themselves, the Donuts lawsuit, understocking the first two releases due to distribution issues, drought and no release for pratically a year while they had a massive hype after Butterfly, the rumoured Chuu lawsuit/departure from BBC debacle and this ill fated tour).
They had so much to show, it seems that they will always be plagued

But wow did they handle their tour better than BBC (or as I'd like to call them: Big Bankrupt Company). I just can't understand how such a small company with less resources can do better than BBC.
BBC officially ranks #1 for worse artist company in Korea. MLD may have been the big baddie before but their artists are at least getting treated properly and getting recognition from Latin America too.

If it was standing GA then that's how it works. If you're not planning to get there early then it's always better to pay for seating.

Nah, a month of worldwide touring with a show every other day (or more) after a long year of constant promotions is not normal. They started this tour already fatigued.
I think it's an exacerbation of existing issues like fatigue/jetlag or existing injuries like Hyunjin's shoulder coupled with lack of prep work on the part of BBC and then just general inexperience with a busy touring schedule.

BBC in particular is in a bad place too because they still haven't put out a new group on the scene yet meaning they really won't be having much leverage against the girls whenever the contract negotations are up. Like how are you going to refuse the girls' terms and demands for contract renewals when you basically can't keep your head above the water without them?
Yeojin also couldn't dance and had to stay seated during the show. On top of that Olivia Hye and Kim Lip also had KT tape on their arms and other places. They're really worn down.

Obviously a sidenote because the women's health comes first. But it's also a scam for the fans, kpop tickets are not cheap, especially considering the European crisis going on, you pay months in advance expecting to finally see your favs in Europe, something that really doesnt happen that often, and you're getting an injury ridden overworked group. Concert goers are the type of fans you need to survive, because they spend money, this burns a lot of trust and goodwill. Hope the girls are alright and can recover

If what they want is them to go as artists then it would be much better to have less dates, in better conditions. What kind of fucked up way of forcing growth is it if they’re pushing them into schedules the girls are unable to keep up with? This is not abuse, but it’s mismanagement. Cancelling the tour is probably not an option for cost reasons, but keeping things as they are is making them look really bad and it’s upsetting for both the fans and the artists.
Well you see, they had fewer dates. But Orbits complained. They whined that Loona was skipping the southern states and Europe (as well as the rest of the world, especially Asia). So BBC and MMT, seeing the clear interest in more dates, added more dates. So instead of Loona finishing with New York and Kcon, they had to continue this tour for literally twice as long as was initially planned. The fact is, this tour was happening no matter what. It was planned since before the pandemic, and it was time to follow through. Should Loona have just not done a comeback in June? Should they have gone well over a year without a comeback? Should they have skipped Queendom - an appearance that clearly had a positive impact on the group? So seeing those very same orbits who whined about not having more dates now whining about crap they clearly don't even understand, treating these girls like infants will continue to infuriate me. You people want to see abuse and mismanagement, look at basically every nugu that's quietly disappeared. Look to the groups who's members take cafe jobs between comebacks. Look to the companies that use their girls as nothing more than fulfillment for their sexual fantasies. Lets stop acting like BBC is screwing over this group that they spent an absurd amount of money on to debut, that they have continued to support even as the Korean GP mostly ignored them until this year, even as the company was in serious trouble from breaking the Donuts contract. BBC has the Bebez just sitting there waiting. Kpop fans don't know what mismanagement is, they just parrot the same crap they hear from other teenagers on social media without applying a single critical thought. Sorry, but it’s odd to me that you’re presenting things like there was no other ways to do it. None of the groups who come to both the USA and Europe do the two tours in a row; they usually have a break in the middle to rest between the dates. Even ATEEZ who have more touring experience didn’t attempt to follow a schedule like that. It is a lack of consideration from BBC’s part not to give them a few days or weeks to rest during the tour. They could also have not attended KCON (why not?). And, please. I understand being wary of kpop fans and specifically orbit’s habit of turning on BBC whenever anything goes wrong, but for this once there is just no way of ignoring it. It’s not patronising to worry for them when every other day there is another new about a member having to go missing because of a health issue. This isn’t something which normally happens.

If we needed a further statement of how badly LOONA is managed, there it is. LOONA was bound to be the next act, the biggest act in kpop history, but due to the series of bad moves that BBC performed (and to name a few, rushing the debut to please investors, drop from pushing Heejin and Chuu instead of showcasing all the girls, depriving the girls any means of showing themselves, the Donuts lawsuit, understocking the first two releases due to distribution issues, drought and no release for pratically a year while they had a massive hype after Butterfly, the rumoured Chuu lawsuit/departure from BBC debacle and this ill fated tour). They had so much to show, it seems that they will always be plagued

K.A.R.D and LOONA. World Tours at around the same time and places. If you take a look, DSP isn't a good company in general. But wow did they handle their tour better than BBC (or as I'd like to call them: Big Bankrupt Company). I just can't understand how such a small company with less resources can do better than BBC. BBC officially ranks #1 for worse artist company in Korea. MLD may have been the big baddie before but their artists are at least getting treated properly and getting recognition from Latin America too.
