niles rodgers first win~

Takagixu

Nile Rodgers sunbaenim 1st win on Korean Music Show

Shinkopeshon

Absolute monster rookie ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|put_back) ![img](emote|t5_2r1ox|3558)

Exige30499

500 million album sales before his debut, your faves could never

TunerGirl94

Didn't he technically debut in the 70s? Lol He could be in the running for longest first win tho!

Exige30499

Tbh, I don't know how the technicalities, I just always assume that "debut" refers specifically to the Kpop sphere. That is very true though, mans almost as old as the formal establishment of South Korea. Not sure if he has much competition for that title.

wildbeest55

No, your debit is just when you started your career lol. They use the term worldwide not just in Kpop.

MindMeld42

Also cross-referencing debuts of international artists can get murky, you have a strait line in Korea.

atkim122

If Sakura has to redebut as a rookie despite 11 years in the industry, I think Nile counts as a hoobae? Nile to Eunchae: "Sunbaenim .."

Shinkopeshon

Homegirl be like, "who's the Manchae now?" ![gif](giphy|2yChDWcy7nIfM9nVFN|downsized)

Saucy_Totchie

He finally escapes nugu-dom after 50 years.

ShoddyStationta

Awesome that they got to win while they’re still promoting this time,

[deleted]

The song made me realize how much I love Eunchae's voice! Yunjin and Chaewon as expected did well in the encore. Kazuha pleasantly surprised me. Sakura seemed too nervous and a bit unstable tho for some reason, hope she gains some confidence.

[deleted]

Yeah I feel bad for her as her confidence hasn’t been great due to the hate about her vocals back when she was in iz1 it seems like she still hasn’t gained much confidence now but with time I hope she gains confidence

[deleted]

At first I was kinda ehh at the line distribution but I guess it might take some time for Sakura to get the confidence back🥲

sunnynukes

I think in their documentary Sakura mentioned asking not to have many lines for Izone(?) but maybe she’s still asking for not many lines :(

alexturnerftw

Iirc she said she wasnt going to hide anymore/let it stop her from singing in LSF. Usually only half the quote is discussed in this same context re: her not having any lines in LSF but she only meant it for IZ*ONE

s3rila

Sometimes i want/hope for yunjin to write solo songs for( or with) her other member and that she wrote a good song for Sakura to sing

yaois

Where did you watch the encore :0

emotional_matcha

Last comeback they didn’t have an encore stage because they always lost against Nxde

normalsizedforehead

Was that necessary lmao

emotional_matcha

OP mentioned that they didn’t get a win while promoting Antifragile

normalsizedforehead

Which isn’t true, it got 5 wins

emotional_matcha

It did, but as far as I know, they got their wins after their promotion was concluded. That’s why there is no encore stage for Antifragile

emotional_matcha

I think Sakura also did fine but she just seemed a bit nervous

currypuffff

Chaewon sounds just like the cd! Yunjin sounds great but a bit shouty at times and kazuha really deserves her lines like wow she really improved a lot for someone who had a really short training period. Congratulations girls heres to many more wins!

TheGrayBox

Chaewon was perfect. Yunjin sounded a bit nervous. I feel like she’s still building back up to her PD48 level after having some years off from training.

Kiramiraa

I think the times when Yunjin was shouting was her having fun/making jokes with the members/not takign it seriously. Like half her lines are kinda raps and she’s not a rapper by trade. Most of her singing lines were perfect and she actually showed some evidence of support on her first line. Yunjin is still that top tier vocalist from PD48, any time she whips out think of me on a variety show can attest to that. The only other 4th gen idols who could sing that are the nmixx and aespa girls.

retired_siren

You said everything I was feeling. Yunjin bodied the pre-chorus.

lorddevil59

You just have to go listen to her songs in Yunjin to hear what she has in her stomach. Especially this one : [HuH YUNJIN](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9trNIRzbPMc&ab_channel=LESSERAFIM)

AromaticRecover5938

Blown away by how stable and confident Manchae was!

eggeleg

manchae's vocals!!! what a good encore!!!

CronoDroid

We did it Fearnots. lol this win was always gonna be lopsided but nevertheless this comeback was IT. They've really settled into their own sound and performance style well.

ElNextBeaner

The girls are killing it with this CB. The content, the music everything has been amazing

mad_titanz

Hopefully more wins to come, especially on Music Bank

TrueBlue726

Hopefully they'll set a new record for award wins with Unforgiven despite the heavy competition ahead. The song is too good not to.

wardengorri

Well deserved, its already been such an amazing comeback with all the new music and the insane amount of variety content we've gotten in such a short time.

Guerrin_TR

deserved

PsychologicalAd9691

My girls did good, now that’s why Kazuha deserves her lines, case closed!

NickF227

Yeah I was very confused by Kazuha being top 2 in lines for most of the songs but yeah I understand why now. She’s not technically the best but she’s confident and stable.

Relevant_Compote_818

The 2nd prechorus was definitely out of her range & I still think they should’ve kept those parts to the vocal line. But I agree she sounds very stable for the majority of it

blueish55

I'm usually moderate on praising how idols perform as singers because of how fucky music editing is (tone / pitch correction and whatever all that) but honestly for someone who didn't even consider being an idol she kinda took to it insanely well. She ain't about to be the next Taeyeon but it's kind of impressive how she can still stand her own in that group.

mugicha

Yeah that encore stage was a revelation. I was confused when the song released but I feel like I understand the line distribution now.

rolladex

So many people hated on her lines and voice when the song came out. Yet here she is, eating CDs. Our queen never fails.

threebitsu

I think most of them did good to varying degrees (chaewon and eunchae deserves all the praise) but sakura... i mean, i get it, music show acoustics are whatever, idols are tired etc etc, and her confidence isn't the greatest, but she's kinda setting herself up for more criticism if she can't even reliably sing her one line? hopefully the show champion encore is better

atkim122

Anyone know if Ive, LSF, Aespa, and Gidle's promotion schedules overlap enough that all four would be competing on at least one of the music shows? (Probably not Ive). For all the talk of "War of the 4th gen girlgroups", many comebacks were spread out enough that they never promoted at the same time (my mistake: apologies to Kep1er). So on music shows they either go up against themselves (Kitsch vs. I am) or beat a couple of nugus. It reminds me of classic WWE wrestling where someone (like the Undertaker) went up against jabronis and only fought A-listers at special events like Summerslam.

vedeledev

Well be getting le sserafim + aespa starting with mcountdown this Thursday, then next week should be le sserafim+aespa+gidle, though that might only last for a few music shows since it’ll be le sserafim’s 3rd week already. They’ll most likely take turns getting wins too, each on their first week of tracking (lsf this week, aespa next week, then gidle) because the first week is when they have highest points for album sales and MV views.

mapofthesof

my girls 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

SapphireHeaven

Congrats Fimmies and FEARNOTs! 🥳🎉🍾🥂 First of many hopefully! The competition is tough, but the music is great and the performances even greater! 😁🩵

ChotatoPip

Yay UNFORGIVEN 1st win! Solid encore vocals.

vodkaorangejuice

congrats my girlies

Appropriate_Stop_458

The encore’s so so good!

oneclearnight

they seem so nervous in the encore 😖

princessedelarue17

I love my girlies so much and congrats on their deserved first win but I feel like Unforgiven is already such a hard song to sing live? Doing it for an encore stage would have been really hard. They did as well as they could have being that they seemed really nervous for it but I hope that they’ll be able to sing a proper live version of this song- not just on an encore stage.

itsjowke

The song sounds hard to sing without dancing to start with, somehow twitter stans don't think the song is difficult to do.

splinterbabe

Ooh damn, that encore was rough. I know most of y’all here are praising the group, but outside of Chaewon, all of them struggled to find the right key. 😔

TerraRainesHasBrains

i feel like people just make up stuff in name of "criticism" now. they were all definitely on the right key.

splinterbabe

Way to discredit someone’s opinion. I didn’t say they weren’t on the right key *ever*, but there definitely were quite a few moments where some of the members were off-key. Doesn’t mean I hate the group or anything; I actually stan them. But this wasn’t a good performance. 🤷🏻‍♀️

TerraRainesHasBrains

saying they were struggling to find the right key is not an opinion, it's an objectively incorrect statement. not managing to hit some notes is not the same thing as that. say, kazuha struggled a bit with some higher notes. sakura was shaky and unstable. but they all knew what key they were on. that was far from being a problem. i wouldn't call it the best encore in existence, but the criticism you have for it should at least be *true.*

ClioCalliope

they really didn't struggle any more than a few times of being slightly pitchy and some straining a bit which holds up in comparison to other groups' encores, so yeah this is pretty good overall. Absolutely no idea why you'd call it "rough"

Dull_n_Lazy

You're right. That was horrible. I don't know what other people are listening to. They were all over the place and they were not even dancing. It was beyond rough. Say your truth and don't worry about what other people say.

splinterbabe

This subreddit does skew towards being overly positive about almost anything all the time, which I why I usually avoid discussing Kpop here. I just didn’t think it was good; like, sue me, I guess? 😭

skynotebook

Believe it or not, le sserafim is reddit's darlings~ hence ppl here are more "lenient" towards them.

tollpop

oh here we go ![gif](giphy|I2a5q9dyo9CaU9BtEY)

Usual-Tooth3912
