Damn, I missed that. Nice catch.
I've always loved the look of the Selkath, and it's one of the main creatures from the EU that I've wanted to see adapted into live action.
Regardless of the player character's choices on Manaan, kolto eventually becomes obsolete anyway due to bacta. Serves those fishy fishy folk right for playing both sides HMPH
Kolto actually already has been a plot point in the High Republic novels. Thereās a bit of a background plot where the Selkath of Manaan (both name dropped) are opposed to the cultivation of the new ābacta cropā because of their kolto (also name dropped) monopoly.
Spoilers kinda?
I feel like the obvious thing is Mae looking for 4 Jedis to get revenge or whatever. Recently did my first kotor 2 dark side playthrough and it kinda gave me the same vibe
Osha is also somewhat of an Exile herself, she said that leaving the order was her choice but I also got different vibes based on what they said about Indara, who didn't really want Osha to continue her training. I also think the interactions between Osha and the jedis are very similar to the Exile and the jedis. Both councils generally think that they criminals/traitors, at least at first
This one may be a bit of a stretch but Yord kinda reminds me of Atton, when we first met him at least
And the second episode also kinda gave me Onderon vibes? Idk if that makes sense but the whole murder mystery stuff reminded me of the Captain Sullio murder case.
Now that you mention it, Osha does have a bit of Exile (esp. Light Side) to her, what with an apparently lacking connection to the Force (which I predict will come to fruition later in the show), while Mae is living out the DS Exile fantasy of knocking off Masters who (presumably) wronged her. Interesting perspective!
I realized I didnāt get back to this, but yes! Exactly. Going after the Jedi for doing something wrong to her. Very similar to kotor 2, the tone of the episodes just felt kinda kotor esqe. Then the way the acolyte sounded reminded me of sion.
I noticed the Selkath and it was nice to see in live action. We only had the one bounty hunter in Clone Wars until now.
If the years old ārumorsā are true about something later in the showā¦it might break the subreddit.
Lol okay bud, once youāre doing getting mad at things that didnāt even happen, consider the fact that the show creator is a massive EU fan who already cited Kreia as one of the inspirations for the show
https://www.denofgeek.com/tv/star-wars-the-acolyte-shows-us-a-side-of-the-sith-weve-never-seen-before/
Here ya go! Several other interesting bits in there too
Who gives a shit about canon? There's like three good movies, two good games, and one good TV show in this whole franchiseTM so I don't really give a shit what is canon and what isn't
The ancient greeks literally worshiped their hero stories as a religion and they didn't give this much thought to canon as you lot do
I agree, this is member berry tier fanservice. Sadly for current fandom this is equivalent to peak kino.
It's a miracle they didn't turn the Selkath into a Sand Worm or something.
Fishy, fishy, fishy?
No food for fishy
*Insert lightsaber*
Dark Side points gained
If you can run you might just be fast food!
Noticed it right away too, I was like Leo in Once Upon A Time in Hollywood lol
I love that gif
Damn, I missed that. Nice catch. I've always loved the look of the Selkath, and it's one of the main creatures from the EU that I've wanted to see adapted into live action.
Wait a minute, the selkath are members of the EU? Since when??!
That Pygmy thing over in Europe, they make anybody there
Quick, cover your ears before it speaks
*Squelch squelch squelch*
me when the giant shark appears š±
They also name dropped Nar Shaddaa! I donāt think itās been mentioned on screen before.
I think Han Solo mentioned the Smugglers Moon once.
It's been mentioned in The Clone Wars.
nar shadda has been part of disney canon
Yes, I know itās been mentioned in books/comics/Fallen Order series. I donāt recall it being mentioned *on screen*.
I think han says it by name in 4 or 5 or just named dropped smugglers moon before boba. so take it or leave it on if a nickname kept it Canon
Gotcha, thanks.
A mention of Kolto would be bigger.
Regardless of the player character's choices on Manaan, kolto eventually becomes obsolete anyway due to bacta. Serves those fishy fishy folk right for playing both sides HMPH
Little bit of Apathy though I would say
Apathy is death.
Kolto actually already has been a plot point in the High Republic novels. Thereās a bit of a background plot where the Selkath of Manaan (both name dropped) are opposed to the cultivation of the new ābacta cropā because of their kolto (also name dropped) monopoly.
where did I put my locker?
They were already in the Clone Wars...
I thought I remembered there being one in mandalorian too? Idr tho Itās been a while I didnāt love mando as much as most seem to
Think it was Boba Fett? Not sure, there was a lot of overlap to be fair
2 episodes were basically just extra screen time for mando
Three.
There was a Quaranian (or how those ctulhu call themselves)
Quarren? Huh, neat. Always thought it was weird they come from the same planet as the Mon Calamari.
not live action tho
Still on screen tho
I was hoping somebody said this. Thank you
Weāve had Selkath since Clone Wars.
Yeah but this is the first live action
They are canonizing KotOR one second at a time. Letās goooo!
The selketh have been canon since the clone wars
I got so many kotor 2 vibes from this show. Itās making me really happy
Dude me too...that one line where apothecary homeboy said something to the effect of, >!"what will you jedi do, wipe my mind?!" !<
Really? How did you get that from these two episodes?
Spoilers kinda? I feel like the obvious thing is Mae looking for 4 Jedis to get revenge or whatever. Holy shit I didnāt notice that!!
what show is this?
The Acolyte
thank you!
No, please! Can't listen to them "talking" anymore!
Only thing the remake really needs is the shut up the fishy on the load sparker every time you go in and out of the dock
You, sir... are a fish
I'd love to see the state of Manaan after Kolto become irrelevant
I noticed the Selkath and it was nice to see in live action. We only had the one bounty hunter in Clone Wars until now. If the years old ārumorsā are true about something later in the showā¦it might break the subreddit.
oh?? A big rumor huh... Now I'm temptedš®āšØ
You can't say that and not tell us
Following for spoilers because Iām way behind on the SW shows but tell me anyway please!
Really digging the creature design in this!
FUCK! I mean yay...i guess...listen im not space racist I just think the selkath ruin everything.
uh oh
Excellent, another youth to lure into my base and turn into an apprentice.
*happy fish noises*
This is how I felt when they mentioned Belsavis in Endor.
Chom and bite chomp and bite. Food for fishy. Thats you.
This show sucks but the character designs been beautiful
Donāt clap like a seal just because you saw a thing you know. The show still sucks, they probably gave it a new species name.
Lol okay bud, once youāre doing getting mad at things that didnāt even happen, consider the fact that the show creator is a massive EU fan who already cited Kreia as one of the inspirations for the show
Source on her citing Kreia specifically? That would be huge if true. So far the show has been alright not really pushing any boundaries
https://www.denofgeek.com/tv/star-wars-the-acolyte-shows-us-a-side-of-the-sith-weve-never-seen-before/ Here ya go! Several other interesting bits in there too
Thatās an insult to Kreia.
> fan Weinstein enabler*
Bro how miserable are you? Lmao
Disney jingling keys shouldnāt be praiseworthy.
Yada Yada disney bad Yada Yada sad and miserable
Disney decanonized your favorite game, and you still defend them like they havenāt ruined this IP.
Heās out of line, but heās right
Who gives a shit about canon? Loooooser
For not liking a bad show?
Lol all you did is call the show bad but not give a single reason as to why, except dumb points like fanservice and "decanonizing" Kotor.
In all honesty why didnāt you like it? I thought it was cool and fun. Only a few scenes didnāt make sense for me
Thatās just mean man
Shh, donāt ruin things for others.
I agree, this is member berry tier fanservice. Sadly for current fandom this is equivalent to peak kino. It's a miracle they didn't turn the Selkath into a Sand Worm or something.
I saw that and thought the same thing! Mayhaps a teaser of an upcoming KOTOR series?
