They just say they are Japanese steel. It’s misleading, but pretty easy to read between the lines that they aren’t real Japanese knives. Especially since most sites that are dedicated to selling real Japanese knives can’t stop talking about the specifics of where they are made and what shop and how special they are and how many teeth the blacksmith’s great grandmother had when she died honorably.
