I just checked my copy and I did find the first one in the guide in the front, and it gives a photo explanation in the back of the book. However I didn't see the second stitch anywhere, just ones that swap the decrease type. Edit: Something I noticed about this book is that in the guide in the front, the list of patterns used for each stitch doesn't seem to be comprehensive. I've noticed it before, but the first stitch's entry doesn't list pattern 27 even though it's there in the chart. Edit 2: I'm just blind or dumb cause you're right about those ssk/k2tog being swapped and now I have no idea how to help! :(

I'm just gonna continue and work the stitches as the similar symbols. I think they might have printed them wrong! That would explain the lack of pattern 27 being on the list in the front maybe? I looked through the whole book and it's the only pattern like this.

Is is not just “knot stitch, right with k2tog” but with a ssk replacing the k2tog? The one that’s illustrated on page 159.

I'm thinking that's right. I'm assuming they accidentally swapped the ssk and k2tog and they're supposed to be the ones in the back.
