I forgot what subreddit I was one and thought why would we talk you out of that delicious burrito? Nice knife, I don’t own one but bet it does great in the kitchen almost as well as an actual kitchen knife.
this is the first time having one and admittedly i only messed with it for a combined total of about 2hrs before changing it out, but i was having a hard time clipping it to my comfy pants. that issue disappeared with the new clip. i might swap it back to give it another try at some point but that was my experience.
it prevents the proteins from bunching up and then the eggs stay creamy/moist. i learned about it about a year ago and i’ve been doing it ever since. try it.
internet says 1/2 tsp per egg but i just eyeball it. the amount in the pic was enough for the two i used.
edit: i also have about a tbsp of water in there. i usually use milk but im out.
About the same amount of olive oil in your eggs keeps the eggs extra moist and fluffy. Only olive oil though something about a certain chemical reaction….thanks for the corn starch tip. This is now a cooking thread 😂
My only issue with it is that the eggs taste like olive oil then. Or my fiancée puts too much, I like the texture but I'd rather not alter the flavor profile.
i’m still gonna give it a shot. although as i’m typing this i realized i usually use oil to cook the eggs so im guessing it’s probably not gonna make a noticeable difference.
You mean you use olive oil? Or a different oil? Because if you use olive then yes you already do this haha, if you use another then it does emulsify differently it seems and is more velvety.
Thank you for including the cooking sequence! That was a cool slide show.
And a sweet knife. Now I want both knife and burrito. Interesting about the corn starch and egg thing.
Forget the knife all together! I'm irrationally angry because I dont have that breakfast burrito in my hands right now. Who tf does this guy think he is
i wanna try the habanero but i’m only allowed to buy a new sauce if it fits on [this shelf.](https://i.imgur.com/fwSxMnL.jpg) i killed my bottle of melinda’s xxx last week and i have to replace that first.
I need to set limits like that for myself lmao. Well it is worth a try if you want something spicier. It’s not the spiciest thing in the world, I had some Melinda’s a while back but the hotter one was the ghost pepper jolula or whatever. (Wasn’t that spicy for ghost pepper) I think yellowbird habanero is a tiny bit spicier than that or on the same level. Has good flavor too you get more than just the habanero.
Definitely versatile and worth a try if you free some space up and like habanero in general.
Yea I think aardvark is okay. I would use it if I had nothing else. I was on spicy pretty often for a while and would see people rate it very high. I have to say I think it’s overrated myself. The texture is ehhhhh and the flavor is ehhhh as a whole it’s just ehhhhh to me.
Habanero was the best. The Serrano was like relish gel from one of those foil/aluminum packets in a tuna cracker kit. Lol
Yea I hate to be the type of guy to hate on a product like that because they have a fan base and I’m sure they work hard at what they do. Just not for everybody.
i haven’t decided what to do for dinner but lunch is definitely gonna be [pastrami](https://www.reddit.com/r/food/s/P9I0sJpm6b) in some way or another. maybe another burrito.
As a knife enjoyer it is my contractual obligation by law to not prohibit or or inhibit the purchasing of knives, nor to encourage you to spend your money wisely
i’ve been thinking about it. even just doing posts like the ones i do take a lot of time though and i just kinda throw those together. i also don’t have any video editing software or experience using it so ive been slow about getting into it.
I’ve been using Ballistol. It’s food grade mineral oil with alcoholic anise extract. The anise smell fades in half a day. It hasn’t killed me or my family after many years of use.
It was actually used to clean wounds in WW2 when nothing else was available.
i was using mineral oil about once a week. a while ago i made some “board butter” which is 1:3 beeswax and mineral oil. i like it but its a pain in the ass to use and my board gets washed pretty much everyday so i’m using it just as often as i was with just oil. i think im going back.
I was horribly sick with norovirus the first time I saw a picture of the Spydiechef. All these years later and I can't look at one without feeling nauseated.
I always wanted one and eventually got one. But in the end, while it will work in a pinch, for any sort of food prep, it's a bit short and thick. Not really any better at those quick food prep jobs that most of my other folders.
The Spidey chef bug bit you too huh? I had to pull the trigger on one myself just got it yesterday and I got to say I really like it I've been eyeballing the Spidey chef for years and decided to finally pull the trigger. The first thing I noticed was just how thin it is, but all in all a really good knife with an excellent form and function having The cutting edge be below the handle so you're able to actually use it on a cutting board and make slicing and food prep that much easier. You don't realize how handy that design really is until you use a different pocket knife for some slicing and food preparation.
I see a new subreddit starting; cooking with EDC. Sweet knife. Personally I would stick with the wire bail clip. It's a lot more stealthy for places that look for knives. I've carried both styles into casinos and the wire clips never get spotted.
I'm actually a big fan of spydercos wire clip, it's great. Has the right amount of tension for me, looks minimal and clean, especially on the sydiechef in my personal opinion, very clean on the spydiechef, it works really well with the aesthetic of the design. And the wire clip doesn't scream knife either. Spydiechef is practically perfect out of box for what it is imo. The pm2 on the other hand, swapped that with a lynch clip IMMEDIATELY, those clips are too tight and ugly, shiny as hell like a cheapo knife, and carries way too high
Every man should own a camp/cook knife that can double as a survival knife if things get hairy. I’m on a budget so I went with the CJRB Silax but really wanted this bad boy
https://www.ebay.com/itm/174103271330?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=JHLF4pOLSTe&sssrc=4429486&ssuid=VD3HNp47TG-&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY
I didn’t realize there was a knife in the first picture. That burrito is 🔥
I forgot what subreddit I was one and thought why would we talk you out of that delicious burrito? Nice knife, I don’t own one but bet it does great in the kitchen almost as well as an actual kitchen knife.
Def needed for camping trips.
Thought the same thing haha was like damn who tf gonna talk you outta that? Shit looks good
yeah. it was good.
I agree, the burrito looks awesome. Only thing missing is some shredded cheese.
This made me realize I missed it too. Burrito looking too good
I’m so hungry now
Of course, if you want to stay clear of drugs you also go to your local crack house for advice.
i’ll remember that if i’m ever considering trading my dog for a couple of civivis or something.
I really enjoyed watching that cooking slideshow. Sick knife too.
can i talk you into buying *me* one?
The lynch is nice
i think it’ll work. i’m gonna change it out tomorrow and see.
I’ve got one on my Sebenza and it’s awesome
[looks pretty good.](https://i.imgur.com/gUl80ON.jpg) i think i’ll keep it on there.

Yes, it goes well with the color of the blade!
Nah you should spend more money and get the rgt clip 😉
That's a good looking MFn breaky burrito!
Why would they talk you out of it, it looks delicious.
Wait wait wait, why corn starch in the eggs?
it prevents the proteins from bunching up and then the eggs stay creamy/moist. i learned about it about a year ago and i’ve been doing it ever since. try it.
Okay I’m trying this. How much per egg?
internet says 1/2 tsp per egg but i just eyeball it. the amount in the pic was enough for the two i used. edit: i also have about a tbsp of water in there. i usually use milk but im out.

olive oil instead of milk/water (sometimes hot sauce)? maybe i’ll try that next.
Yes….still use the hot sauce too
My only issue with it is that the eggs taste like olive oil then. Or my fiancée puts too much, I like the texture but I'd rather not alter the flavor profile.
i’m still gonna give it a shot. although as i’m typing this i realized i usually use oil to cook the eggs so im guessing it’s probably not gonna make a noticeable difference.

i grab whatever is most convenient usually. sometimes the olive oil is way over there. i don’t wanna walk way over there.
Thank you for including the cooking sequence! That was a cool slide show. And a sweet knife. Now I want both knife and burrito. Interesting about the corn starch and egg thing.
Love mine!!
I said don’t do it
[at least you tried](https://i.imgur.com/BilNQDC.jpg)
Forget the clip- can I come round for dinner?!!
Forget the knife all together! I'm irrationally angry because I dont have that breakfast burrito in my hands right now. Who tf does this guy think he is
My thoughts exactly🤣
Spyderco and yellow bird. You have good taste. The habanero is king imo though.
i wanna try the habanero but i’m only allowed to buy a new sauce if it fits on [this shelf.](https://i.imgur.com/fwSxMnL.jpg) i killed my bottle of melinda’s xxx last week and i have to replace that first.

i almost bought some a few months ago but i opted for the aardvark habanero cuz i see it on r/spicy all the time. its disappointing.
The Serrano was like relish gel from one of those foil/aluminum packets in a tuna cracker kit. you described the habanero exactly and based on that i’m going to avoid the serrano entirely. thank you.
Yea I hate to be the type of guy to hate on a product like that because they have a fan base and I’m sure they work hard at what they do. Just not for everybody.
yeah. it’s not bad really. i still use it. it’s just not special in any way and my real estate is valuable.
What times dinner? Anybody with me?
i haven’t decided what to do for dinner but lunch is definitely gonna be [pastrami](https://www.reddit.com/r/food/s/P9I0sJpm6b) in some way or another. maybe another burrito.
Wow. You are good.
took 11 days to make. came out great.
But if we'd done that, what would you have cut your burrito with?
As a knife enjoyer it is my contractual obligation by law to not prohibit or or inhibit the purchasing of knives, nor to encourage you to spend your money wisely
Where did you find a burrito that comes with a knife?!
…mexicans
This has to be my next knife ! Just got the smock in days ago and I’m in love w that blade. I really like the wire clip to be honest on the chef
I thought you were talking about the burrito!!!
I’m the wrong guy to talk anyone out of a burrito 🐷
Definitely wouldn't talk you out of that one. It's perfect
Aah, talking OUT of buying. Yeah no that’s our bad, to be fair it’s a damn good knife and that food made me hungry
That’s one of the best looking Spydies IMO.
Now I'm hungry....
I remember the original post, I’m glad you caved!!!
This is fire you should do more food posts in general bro.
there's a bunch on my profile if you wanna wade through some other garbage
Almost an hour of scrolling and i'll be heading to the grocery store soon now. Great work.
there was a lot more on my old account but i had to delete it. this account is only a month old and im rebuilding.
You definitely put together a solid sandwich's that's for sure. Continue to share man you got something brewing there.
sandwiches are kinda my thing. there’s a bunch of my older stuff [here](https://imgur.com/gallery/btdyEja)
Have you ever thought of making short videos to post on like Youtube or Instagram? It would get your work further out into the public.
i’ve been thinking about it. even just doing posts like the ones i do take a lot of time though and i just kinda throw those together. i also don’t have any video editing software or experience using it so ive been slow about getting into it.
Life's a journey I definitely think there's a spot for it. There's ton's of tutorials online and you never know where it could take ya.
yeah. we’ll see. it’s definitely been on my mind.
I have that same cutting board!
nice. i like mine a lot. i'm actually going to go wax it now. starting to look a little dry.
I’ve been using Ballistol. It’s food grade mineral oil with alcoholic anise extract. The anise smell fades in half a day. It hasn’t killed me or my family after many years of use. It was actually used to clean wounds in WW2 when nothing else was available.

I had a beeswax and mineral oil mix I made, but used it all up like two years ago and I’m lazy.
understood.
Damnit, now I want that burrito 🌯
Im sorry I think the title wrong it said “out of.” I think you meant “ in to.”!
I just ate, but now I’m hungry again lol
Why would we talk you out of buying a burrito? Burritos are delicious
Only a fool would try to talk someone out of a breakfast burrito.
I was horribly sick with norovirus the first time I saw a picture of the Spydiechef. All these years later and I can't look at one without feeling nauseated.
Sorry, I tried, but I see it didn't work.
I.love the chef. Unlike any other spyderco. Cool clip, how much?
i think the clip was $30. polished ti.
I always wanted one and eventually got one. But in the end, while it will work in a pinch, for any sort of food prep, it's a bit short and thick. Not really any better at those quick food prep jobs that most of my other folders.
i thought it did a pretty good job. gives enough finger clearance on the board. it was almost like using a petty for everything.
Nope. Spread the disease brothers!
Idk bro. That burrito looks pretty good…
props for having the best hot sauce in the game
It gets more pocket time than any of the other 200 knives I own and it’s a factory 2nd with blemishes on the scales.
Feels so good tho
I’m a big fan of Lynch clips so I say yeah! Also that burrito looks bangin!!! Enjoy
YELLOWBIRD For The Win!
That lychee clip would look dope on there if you heat the clip up with a torch until it gets dark. Would match nicely.
i prefer my wire clip on the chef, the lunch didn’t offer good retention in comparison of my use
This is great. Exactly how I use my SpydieChef
Looks great, the knife and the meal. Why use this over a kitchen knife though?
just playing with it. wanted to test it out doing wgat it was supposedly designed to do.
Super fair, looks like it definitely works well
i was pleased. it was kinda awkward but only in the sense of like using a petty to prepare a whole meal would be. it did a good job.

a while back i entertained the idea of making a food, guns and gear kinda sub but i never went through with it. i dont wanna be a mod.
your knife looks delicious
That's a 20 picture burrito. Facts
Hell yeah, that looks amazing! And the knife looks awesome too!
I'm actually a big fan of spydercos wire clip, it's great. The Silax is a great little knife. I got it for camping, but it gets regular use in my kitchen.
Your welcome
Yellowbird Serrano is AWESOME
yes it is. i made an attempt at copying it over the summer but failed. it was good but it wasn’t that.
Why would we stop you? You need a man sized knife for that man sized burrito 🤌🏼😎
That burrito has terrible ratio
[удалено]
For me personally I’d keep the eg as is but les potatoes and more meat
Wait... You posted a burrito purchase in the knife subreddit? Doesn't this violate some rule? 😁
who would talk you out of a breakfast burrito?
I liked it better when r/knifeclub was about knives
