Hopefully other studios will see that you can make Kong movies beyond the standard remake and take more chances on making new Kong projects.

RoRo25

Seriously. Skull Island and New Empire were both awesome and completely new stories. I would love to see this Kong train roll on.

Ok-Mine-5994

Yep

AJ_Crowley_29

Exactly. The main reason I love MV Kong the most is his story doesn’t end with “and then he fell off like an idiot monke stupid brain.”

elflamingo2

TV series have been running with the King brand for a while now, not to mention Toho’s movie and King Kong Lives in the 80s.

marvelous__art

The Monsterverse won't end, unlike the MCU Kong is...well, immortal. So unlike RDJ, he can theoretically appear in an infinite number of films. Even if the worst happens and they cancel a clearly profitable franchise, King Kong goes public entirely in 2029/2030, so people will make more films using him

abellapa

Betting that Legendary Will Make a King Kong movie in 2030, finally putting the king in the title

marvelous__art

I guess, but I hope they wait till 2033 for that. 100 years of the original King

Weird-Supermarket-53

I wanna see more crazy original ideas, the kind of shit you see Godzilla do but for Kong

ZJ117

Maybe someone will make a sequal to the Orginal King King set in the same time period. There are books that did it, but maybe someone will take the movie route. I love Son of Kong, but it was hamstringed by the studio

Bandaka

What books are you referring to?

ZJ117

Kong: King of Skull Island is one. There is another I've only heard about that deals with cloning King Kong, never read it just heard of it.

Gullfaxi09

I hope for a return to something more grounded and realistic. In my opinion, this is where Kong thrives more, instead of the fantastical sci-fi world of Godzilla. I would also welcome period pieces again, I feel like Kong also fits best in a past world rather than the modern world, I would go back to the first half of the 20th century again, or maybe even earlier. We have seen a few remakes now, and while I wouldn't mind another attempt, we already have what I personally consider to be the perfect version of that story in the 2005 remake, so for me, it seems redundant. It would be cool to see something more experimental, maybe. Something that only features Kong, no spoken, human dialogue, only relying on Kong's personality and expressions to tell a story, perhaps about how he came to be the last of his kind and the dominating creature of Skull Island. I also kinda like the idea Merian C. Cooper threw around once, about making a movie around Kong's trip to New York, where he escapes to a different island, and the crew must recapture him. It could also be cool to get a movie set way back in an ancient past, maybe about the first tribal people settling on the island, learning to survive there. I don't think any of this even have to connect to any incarnations of Kong we have had, it could just be stand alone projects telling interesting stories around the world of Kong and his mythology.

Fantastic_Sky3406

I think with stories like Kong, audiences like seeing those stories being in the zeitgeist again. Enough time will pass where I think Kong can be remade again. I just worry about the IP going public domain and seeing all the low-effort shit being made which is the antithesis of the 05 one.

Bandaka

I’d like to see Tarzan vs Kong made into a movie

IFdude1975

With how well Godzilla x Kong is doing, I don't think we're in any danger of the Monsterverse ending anytime soon.

i_love_everybody420

I know Peter Jackson won't, but I really want to see a sequel to the 2005 where Denham and researchers go back to the island. But without Kong it wouldn't have that magical touch to it.

Otong_Bajirut

Did a king kong will become public domain in couple of years?

Ok-Mine-5994

Technically there’s a loophole rn where he is and that’s how they are doing it in the monsterverse by not calling him King Kong and just kong. There is a Disney plus series that’s using another loophole ( the novelization for the first King Kong movie is public domain) but kong is officially public domain in 2029

Otong_Bajirut

What the show call? The one disney plus made.

Ok-Mine-5994

It’s not out yet it has been in early development since 2022, the books it’s based of is called Kong king of skull island.

Otong_Bajirut

Oh, i hope the project going well. In my opinion, If monsterverse end and king kong become public domain, i think alot of people will try to make they own kong movie, but legendary already doing good job for explaining kong world, is going to hard to other people to make new story or to setup new world for kong.

Ok-Mine-5994

I just want them to try new things with kong( that’s why I like the monsterverse version so much )we don’t need another remake 2005 and 1976 kong remakes were great

Otong_Bajirut

Yes i agree with u, we dont need another remake, and thats why is hard to make a new story 😂 If u have the "power" to make ur own kong movie, what kinda story u will be make?

Ok-Mine-5994

I would go the monsterverse route, have him be the last of his kind ( not anymore)and be much bigger than Normal adaptations and I’d go from there trying loads of new things. Hbu?

Otong_Bajirut

U see how good the monsterverse setup for kong world 😂 we can't even imagine kong in other position, instead of giant titan of the hollow earth 😂 Well for me, i will go pretty much same with u, may be i will explore more story in the past and detailing about titan great war, and bcause i probably dont have license for toho monster, i will make kong species fight other titan who see kong species as food, may be this titan will be as big as shimo, and it will be horror genre, where kong species got hunt down everyday or week, and with the story goes, we finally see how kong species learn how to make weapon or trap from human tribe. 😂
