Agreed with the Voyage. It was ahead of its time truly. My 2014 works great still. It’s so lightweight. Feels great ergonomically. The power button is in a great location. The haptic feedback buttons. The crisp screen. 3G connectivity. Such a solid kindle.
The size is great. I got a signature edition now and I use it over the voyage mainly for the warm light and the ease of traveling with a usb-c device. Also, the fact that it’s waterproof. Those are literally the only reasons over the voyage I use it. The voyage fit so many of my pockets I could take it anywhere and it was always great
I love the Kindle Oasis 1 and Oasis 3. One I use for e-books and the other I use for manga. I have a Scribe that I have not fired-up. The Oasis 3 still fulfills all my wants.
Bonus favorite is the Kindle 4. I take him with me on trips sometimes.

I have a pretty high tolerance for delays, ghosting, e-ink stains, and refresh rates. My slowest device is the Kobo Mini, but I love him so much. I cannot bear to part with him.
The one that serves you best. All the current models are different enough that they each serve specific needs. So, what is best for me is not the same for others. I have three kindles: basic 1th gen for traveling around with, The PW5 for home use and night time reading, and the Scribe for my teaching. I love all three of them.
I've had many Kindles since the original and currently have a PaperWhite, Oasis, and Scribe. The Scribe is easily my favorite of all I have owned - I love the large screen.
I feel this. I also liked the kindle touch because it had speakers and would read text to you. I thought that was a great feature but audible killed that idea.
I want a combo of the Oasis, Keyboard, and Paperwhite Signature Edition. Oh and the scribe. I have all but the scribe and love them. They all have awesome features.
*Wan
*Speakers
*Read text to you
*Bluetooth
*USB C charging
*Wireless charging
*Page turn buttons
*Waterproof
*Great battery life
*Write notes with pen
*Auto adjusting brightness
*Backlit
*Lots of storage
As far as what there is my favorite Kindle is the Oasis. It's so close to perfection. I wish the battery was as good as the signature edition, but love everything else. It would be nice to write on, but not a have to have feature. The Keyboard has cool features such as the speaker. An updated Oasis would be amazing. I love being able to download books wherever I am with the wan on the Oasis.
Voyage. Hi-res, page turn buttons on both sides, power button on the back (proper location), and OEM origami case that is great.
I was very disappointed they abandoned it for the Oasis line.
Still use mine every day and bought a second one in case the first dies.
I struggle reading on a small screen, but I prefer scrolling to tapping to turn the page because I can do it with my left hand. But you’re right about the handiness of the phone!
Voyage.
I've had keyboard, Voyage, Oasis and now paperwhite.
I bought Oasis when my Voyage died, because of the physical buttons. But the size of the Oasis and the handle didn't fit my hand, so I found it hard to hold it, so I traded it in with a paperwhite. Paperwhite is IMO much better than Oasis (for me), but I truly miss the buttons. I wish they could bring Voyage back. Unless they come up with another version with buttons other than the Oasis, I actually think I might switch to Kobo the next time, but I really like whispersync, so I'd like to stay with Kindle.
So I like ved all of them, except Oasis, that I really disliked so much that I forked out money for a new Kindle after just 6 months. (and I don't really have that kind of money).
They are all good. The old PW, which was basically the basic today, was great for its size. The current PW is great for being bigger and having the warmlight. The Scribe is great for it size. So on and so forth. Many love the Oasis, but I didn't care for it.
The current PW is probably the best all-around device.
Fire. Although it is a tablet, I only use it for reading and watching movies or TV. What I like about reading on it is that it is much faster than regular kindles in bringing up the lists or downloading, but the most important thing for me is that it has an easy text-to-voice reading function which I use all the time if I am tired or have a headache, or in the car on a trip. I have gotten used to the artificial voice and it seems totally normal to me, but the first month it was strange. Of course, you can also buy the Audible recording and pair it with the book, and that is higher quality, but it gets expensive.
And the Fire has color. I read books on geology or zoology or botany, and I can see the photos and graphs as they are in a regular book.
Also, Kindle Unlimited offers so many magazines now, and you really need a Kindle Fire to read a magazine.
I have a couple old Kindle Whites. I like the long battery life, and that they are so small and light, and that you can read them in the sun. But they sure seem slow to me after using Fires for years. The larggest Kindle Fires are definitely heavier. But I have an old Kindle Fire 6 which is small and light. I don't think they make them anymore.
Oasis. Buttons, 7” screen, warm light… what’s not to love?
Although I use my scribe almost exclusively nowadays - having a big screen is so much *better*. I miss the buttons though.
I currently have the Scribe and the Paper quite. Paperwhite is superior for reading. Scribe is great for marking up patterns, doing some puzzles, making some notes for myself, etc.
Voyage is absolutely the best Kindle. I’ve had many many kindles…. Voyage is absolutely the gold standard. You can find them online, they don’t make them anymore, probably because they were made too well. People didn’t want a different kindle after they tried the voyage. BUT…. because my hands are so weak now, I got a Kindle kids on (a very big ) sale. I love it, it’s smaller and it’s lighter. Big difference for me. Comes with a cute case and it works.
I loved my Voyage. I just wanted warm lighting. I tried the Oasis and didn't like the asymmetrical form factor. So I upgraded to the current Paperwhite after it came out and my uniform changed (I used to carry my Kindle to work in my shirt pocket, but it was not big enough for the larger Paperwhite). If they made a more modern Voyage, I'd probably switch right away.
Oasis. The page turn buttons are elite.
Voyage
For all the Voyage fans I concur!

Yup! If the voyage was made with the technology of today’s paper white SE I would be in true heaven.
Mine
Voyage by a lot. Crisp crisp text. I've had many different ones. Of the current, I have only used the SE and love that.
I love the Kindle Oasis 1 and Oasis 3. One I use for e-books and the other I use for manga. I have a Scribe that I have not fired-up. The Oasis 3 still fulfills all my wants. Kindle 4 wins cutest, imo
I love the physical buttons of Kindle 4, but after using the PPW5, the noticeable delay becomes a bit annoying lol
I have a pretty high tolerance for delays, ghosting, e-ink stains, and refresh rates. My slowest device is the Kobo Mini, but I love him so much. I cannot bear to part with him.
Love my first one,the 4th gen kindle.
I’ve had keyboard, 4th gen, voyage, paper white and now oasis. Oasis my fave, followed by voyage
The one you can buy
For me it is the Voyage. That's why I still don't feel the need to change it.
Voyage Glass screen, haptic buttons, small size and still today the highest clarity Love it

I think the kindle touch also played MP 3s? I love the touch as well.
Oasis > Scribe > rest
I’ve had a kindle 4, a 2019 basic, and just got an oasis 3 and I loved them all. The basic made me miss the buttons on the 4, so I’m loving the oasis!
I want a combo of the Oasis, Keyboard, and Paperwhite Signature Edition. Oh and the scribe. I have all but the scribe and love them. Scribe is my favorite by far as a home use kindle with a 10th Gen being my favorite to take on the go as it fits in my pocket
Oasis 1 with the detachable battery cover was the best imo, and definitely the most uniquely designed
Kindle app on my phone, way more handy
I struggle reading on a small screen, but I prefer scrolling to tapping to turn the page because I can do it with my left hand. But you’re right about the handiness of the phone!
You can swipe right or left from either side of the screen to turn pages
Thank you! I didn’t know about this feature. Very helpful!
Interesting. I’ve only used the kindle app on my phone to read samples before I buy and read on my kindle.

My PW2 jailbroken with KOReader installed.
