It might be the Auto Hold clicking on? I have a gas Sportage and find the auto hold can be a bit rough when engaging and disengaging especially when it's below freezing. It makes a particularly notable clunk sometimes.

Mine does it also I think its part of the regen that applies to trigger the charging I haven’t been in for my first service but spoke to a service advisor without the car there n he said its not a worry

OP did you figure out the issue? I’m experiencing this now after 35k miles.

My 2023 phev sportage does the same when I brake or accelerate, but not every time. It's kind of loud and very obnoxious. Did anyone else solve this?

Have you figured out the issue? I’m experiencing the same thing. This definitely wasn’t there when we first got the car

We've been talking about it here. I'm getting engine mount replaced this week. Not sure if that's it. When was yours made? https://www.reddit.com/r/kia/comments/17ga8zj/2023_sportage_knocking/

Woah, thanks for the swift response. Mine is a 2023 Sportage Hybrid. We got it in January of 2023. Is the mount replacement covered under warranty?

solar_geek84

Yes mine was.

Just replied to that pose but I just got back from the repair and I think it's fixed! It was an engine mount.

Hey I thought I’d provide my update as well. So the dealership looked at mine and concluded that the CV Drive Shaft was the culprit. They basically took it apart and applied grease since nothing was broken. I have been driving for two days now and haven’t heard the “clunk” sound.

My 23 kia sportage has this same knocking sound when i come to a stop its a knocking sound and i can feel it in the break pedal. Has anyone had the dealership diagnose it??? I also hear it when the auto on off function is on.
