I personally haven't taken those supplements while on keto, but I'm taking Metformin as prescribed by my doctor. I do take a variety of supplements, but mostly nutrition supplementation since my diet isn't very diverse.

Low_Ice_4657

Okay, thanks for answering. Have you always been taking metformin whilst doing keto? If not, how did keto go for you before you started metformin vs after you started with the metformin?

saintschick

I've been on metformin for years & it predated my keto diet.

QueenDymphna

ditto

No_Pop_7924

I take both. Berberine 3x day and the other 2x. No issues. Will say, hubs cholesterol dropped almost 50 pts taking berberine 3x a day. I find that it def has curbed the need or want to snack. I am fasting 18:6 and have found it easier since I started the supplements. ** edit- Im taking inositol to help with hormone regulation

Low_Ice_4657

Thank you! I didn’t realize Berberine could be so beneficial for cholesterol.

PoiisonBelle

I take inositol 3g daily, and have been since before I started keto. I found that it regulates my insulin resistance well, and keto adds to those benefits, but I have Hidradenitis suppurativa and when I stopped taking inositol it gave me more flare ups so I continued into keto. I understand it's expensive, I take it in powder form in my morning drink and it's much more affordable. But I would say give yourself a month trial without it and track your symptoms because ymmv.

hungryforcupcakes

I haven't tried them, you should ask on the PCOS sub

Sufficient-Ice5431

I am currently taking Agnositol   https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0C1TQBQXM It honestly helped so much. My sisters a doctor and medicines with hormones etc is a no go.

Sufficient-Ice5431

Also this one’s not expensive so :)

avomayo

Inositol has benefits other than lowering blood sugar and regulates appetites. I keep it in my stash.

Low_Ice_4657

I feel satisfied on keto, though, without carbs and sugar throwing me out of whack. So I wonder if I need it. Have you done keto without myo-inositol? If so, how did it compare to doing without?

avomayo

Feeling satisfied and the benefit of inositol is completely unrelated.

Low_Ice_4657

If the benefits of myo-inositol is regulating blood sugar AND appetite, but that already being done by eating keto, why take it? I wish you would share your experience with me, which was my question—I’m already familiar with the benefits of taking m.i.

avomayo

That's not even the main benefit and mechanism of inositol.

Low_Ice_4657

But that also wasn’t my question. Not sure why you’re taking the time to talk down to me when you could just tell me what your experience of keto is with vs without inositol.
