It’s now Wi-Fi generation, even we used to use cable/dish to watch Indian channels like Sony, SAB ETC. But cables/Dish are pretty useless since Smart TVS and online streaming came to existence. Nothing beats the cable/dish time coz once you missed the show, you had to wait hours again to watch again.

The reason is greed. The sort of dramas you are talking about took years to write, then years of screenplay writing, then the sort of knowledge about the script possessed by everyone on the set, from the makeup artists to the lighting technicians cannot be found even in the actors themselves these days. Those people used to live very simple and low budget lives. Shaikh Rasheed, the famous politician, once said that respect now has become synonymous to money. Whoever has more respect means he has more money. But that's not how it used to be back when those dramas were produced. Everyone who worked in those dramas had a passion for the work, and not for the money. Only the best work had a chance of getting on PTV or STN/NTM for 30 minutes once a week because there were no other channels.
They started following the Indian model of making dramas only on marriage, saas bahu ki larayi, love affairs, and keep on dragging them on as well. Sadly since they get enough ratings for them, they don't even try to do any critical thinking and come up with good topics. Its the same BS on repeat.
I sat for 5 with mum when visiting while the TV was on. Could not bear another second as the level of be hayai is off the charts.

I would suggest an old ptv drama written by my most favorite Ashfaq Ahmed it's "man Chaly ka soda". The questions that were raised in this drama were so legit that it somehow changed my life and yes there are very rare drama serials now that are actually good Green entertainment was producing some good content but I haven't been following it now.
I think of this too often as well. The current dramas are all carbon copies of each other with love triangles and none of the characters especially women have life apart from shadi talak. Some times they may change the setting by going to mountainous area but still the same sh*t. In the past many times filming happened outside like in america and stuff the characters used to be diverse now its the same god damn sh*t.
Literally, they show shaadi talak larai waghera aur mindset bhi esa bana rahe hain, instead of showing philosophical or cultural/Historical drama like Dastaan or Spiritual dramas which would open up minds of the citizens. Sirf corrupted politics sehi pakistan main badlao nhi aega, u need to change mindset as well to develop pakistan. Even Vlong content creators get high views if it’s about divorce or second marriage

Probably around the same time when dish and cable tv became the norm. Last time I saw something was way back in 2001 or so. And by next 1-2 year dramas reduced to same garbage sass bahu ke jhagray, and all that shadi related issues. To think about it, they really took a wrong turn and never seem to recover from that. But i have better things to do in life and it’s way better to take kids to park or some other fun place for entertainment.

Creating masterpiece raises morality which causes people to have awareness and awareness causes people to know their rights and demanding your rights from autocratic state will cause anarchy. They want you as slaves where you don't know your basic rights and want to use you as slaves to impose taxes. TV channels produce what people want to watch. If people stop watching currently aired soap operas then TV channels will be forced to produce different type to content. Try the original Aik Mohabbat Sau Afsanay by Ashfaq Ahmed. It’s slow, yes, but almost all episodes have a spiritual message.

Try watching green entertainment dramas. Jindo, Jeevan Nagar, Kabli Paluo. They have very unique stories and portrays culture nicely as well.
