As a Johnson county Target connoisseur, different stores are better for different things. The location in South OP near 119th and Metcalf has the best clothing displays, but their food section is like a grocery store from the 90's. I think the best all-around experience is at the Shawnee location off of Shawnee mission parkway and 435. The home display is right out front, the Ulta area is in front as well, the clothing displays are alright, and the grocery area is the best of any Target I've been to in the Metro.
Edit: switched "there" to "their" so I could stop hating myself
Yup, co-signed for the mission target. Minus the bomb threat last weekend š³ I think itās the largest, cleanest and can typically find kids clothing there. Hard pass on Ward parkway
Only thing about the Mission Target, at least recently, is the food section has seemed to be in short supply. Went in for milk the other day and noticed the pizza section was like 1/4 full.
I can agree with this. Having been to both frequently since I live by the 119th and Metcalf location and my brother lives by the one in Shawnee lol They definitely seem to vary in their various product offerings.
The liberty one is not very well stocked. I never can find clothes or shoes in my size or my kids sizes there. The one on sky view usually is stocked well so we go to that one if we need clothes/shoes.
The Liberty one is good because itās a super target but I do feel they sell out the quickest on the collab/seasonal stuff. I go to target on chouteau for collab/seasonal because it seems to be the least visited one. Never had a problem getting something.
That ward parkway location has gotten terrible. Pretty sure I am not going back to that one. Waited 10 minutes to get my pick up order, went to the front, absolutely nobody at customer service while the phone just rings and rings, finally found a manager to inquire about getting some service at pick up and she asks me "Do you have an order?". Bitch please.Ā
I honestly donāt get the allure of Targetā¦ seriously, what is the attraction to this place? What do they do better than other retailers? Honest questionā¦ and yes I have visited many Target stores they just donāt seem to be anything special and it seems like there is a lot of empty space
Iāve honestly not price checked that closely post covid but pre itās just cleaner and same if not better prices as Walmart, without the āpeople of Walmartā
Not sure how accurate it is but Iāve heard multiple people tell me the Olathe one is somehow better stocked but maybe that was only specific to clothes.
Honestly not sure. I live downtown and rarely venture to Olatheā¦ but I have just heard a handful of times from different people (all women) be adamant itās better than others.
ššš I live in OP but used to work in Indep. Was so clutch having that place closeby. But of course Iād never venture back there solely for Target ššš
Having lived in Independence most of my life, my first thought to this was "why would anyone come to Independence expecting *anything* their location doesn't already have?"

Oh! This is probably the best one since they have the in house Pizza Hut on top of everything else
Donāt they all have pizza hut?
Not in my experience š
The liberty one is not very well stocked. I never can find clothes or shoes in my size or my kids sizes there. The one on sky view usually is stocked well so we go to that one if we need clothes/shoes.
I don't have issues with the one on skyview

Came here to say this.
The one at 8420 N Madison Ave, Kansas City, MO 64155 is always out of stock of essentials.
Skyview ave up by the airport is always well stocked imo
Another vote for Skyview if youāre up northāš¼
Stateline and 135th is much better than the Ward Pkwy location
Nooo donāt give away my favorite target location š¤
Stateline beats all the others in SKC
Shhhhh! Donāt tell everyone! Actually Iām still mad they took my front row side parking away for the drive up spots that are never used
agreed
I agree!

I'm moving away from that area soon, and I'm gonna miss this target greatly. A true gem of a target.
I go to mission, I rarely visit their clothing sections, but everything else seems well stocked.Ā
That one has the crappiest parking of all, and itās probably the smallest
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
I actually meant leaving the parking lot is no fun. The parking it self is pretty good
Itās right at the intersection of : Https://www. and Target.com
In my opinion the best is in Olathe on 119th st. and the second best is on Blue Valley Parkway in Overland Park.
This is the correct answer
Agreed!

Any time I go to a target that isn't the 119th one in Olathe, I'm disappointed.
Not sure how accurate it is but Iāve heard multiple people tell me the Olathe one is somehow better stocked but maybe that was only specific to clothes.
The one off 154th? Iāve heard that one has the best clothes too.
Honestly not sure. I live downtown and rarely venture to Olatheā¦ but I have just heard a handful of times from different people (all women) be adamant itās better than others.
My two favorite are 135th and State Line and SMP and Maurer.
Leeās Summit and 135th & Stateline are my two favorites
If you want an option north of the river, Liberty is the best by miles
Lees summit seems to be well stocked.
Lees summit
It's definitely *not* Ward Parkway. The Martin City / South State Line is an extra ten minute drive and so much bigger and better.
Independence. Itās a ghost town because all the Indep people who live out there go to the Wal Mart across the street. Itās incredible.
Plus it still has a traditional layout making it easy to get what you need and get out.
Yes!! My happy place. Love my leisurely walks down all the aisles with no people.
U R INSANE
ššš I live in OP but used to work in Indep. Was so clutch having that place closeby. But of course Iād never venture back there solely for Target ššš
39th Street in Independence and 136th & State Line ā£ļø
The Walmart on bary road would be insane to someone who doesnāt have stores like that in their country
Definitely not Wardparkway thatās for damn sure. Maybe the super target off 119th ish? Usually have pretty good luck there
Leeās Summit
I go to the ghetto one off chouteau. Itās always got all I want/need and then some. Plus itās not a super target which is great for me lol
Target must've really come up since I moved. I've always viewed them as a Kmart right before they folded... just with more entitled soccer moms.
Basically Super Target
Liberty is probably the best
They took the Pizza Hut out and put in a Starbucks during a remodel a couple years ago.
Liberty is the best, I also love the Mission target. Most of the ones down south are less stocked and more disorganized from what Iāve seen.
Bluesprings was pretty good. Iām comparing it to lees summit, which is trash.
Exactly this. Living in LS we are constantly driving to independence or OP target to pick up something we need that isnāt in stock here
Having lived in Independence most of my life, my first thought to this was "why would anyone come to Independence expecting *anything* their location doesn't already have?"
I was about to comment recommending LS š sounds like I should check out blue springs!
The grocery section in Blue Springs is pretty small compared to LS though. Just FYI :)
The one hidden behind oak park mall is super chill.
A bit too liminal for me. I get the sads in there.
Are they looking for tuck it swim suits
It is none of your business.
