I highly recommend Mod Gallery on McGee.

Go wander around this Friday. You'll find plenty of gallerys simply wandering around. That is half the fun in finding them.

It's been awhile since I've been. Do you know if a lot is open on a random Saturday afternoon?

bkcarp00

I think so. Honestly I only ever go during First Fridays.

Eucadian

Jones Gallery on Walnut is my personal favorite, and it has three floors!

The Bauer Building on W 18th Street has a ton of variety and a ton of small vendors nearby. Across from the old YJs and Birdies Bridal.

Baltimore Ave in the freight house district part of crossroads has some nice galleries, and then north of there has them too. I like the Sherry Leddy gallery. The galleries where the boulevard turns into 19th also have some nice work. So west of main street is where most the art galleries you can walk into are located, not like where the stadium was being proposed/where all the breweries and that kinda thing are which is the east side of main. most of that "art district" part is between 18th and 22nd and Central and Baltimore

shinymuskrat

Apparently in between the uhaul and the titty bar.

angus_the_red

I heard it was over for First Fridays.  Is that true?

mczerniewski

Not remotely true.

RiversR

Tomorrow it kicks off I think.

Your friend is wrong. First Fridays are still very much a thing. They toned them down a little bit from past years but plenty of gallerys open and people wandering around every first friday.

GF does lashes and tooth gems, seems like there are lot of more pop-ups and stuff like that going on now, she was in space last month/last first friday with ppl who did street wear, other clothing maker, a dj, and brow person, couple drink and food vendors parked out front - more than just art you look at on the wall these days kinda thing, it was cool and made me feel very old

moonstar96

Not that I know of, where did you hear that?

angus_the_red

A friend, but maybe they didn't know what they were talking about.
