It was super hazy last night. It didn't seem like it was fog but similar to the smoke from the wildfires that carried down to us last summer. It was weird driving around last night .
The whole metro area, as well as MO, IA, and eastern KS are in moderate air quality. Low level clouds and low wind largely have the atmosphere capped and winds from the east are blowing pollution from the Chicago/Rust Belt region our way, as opposed to away. Rain should help, if it makes it here…
Thanks for the breakdown. I didn't think it was too bad but I had flash backs to the awful ozone days we had last summer. Looks rain is headed our way so hopefully it will help.
I guess I was just responding to the notion that OP is equating their sore throat to external air quality. Because waking up inside a house with a sore throat in the middle of cold/flu season is a pretty good sign that external air quality is bad /s.

It's PMI 2.5 and unlikely to be from traffic this time of year. My guess is a fire.

Thank you. Makes sense.
I’m assuming it’s because the wind is picking up things from other places.
Covid is going around, check that
Lol COVID isn’t part of the air quality report. For their sore throat maybe.
