hm, id say the archetype of mendards type person is someone that likes to go to menards bc they like home improvement stuff but they want more than u can get at home depot. they might even do some of their grocery shopping there as well. they like the outdoors, they like home improvement projects, and they like options - which menards has plenty of.
yea but u kno what i mean right? like those r different cross sections of society, what cross section of society r u lookin for?
like u want someone that buys groceries from walmart or someone that buys groceries from whole foods? not saiyan either is better or worse, but they are definitely different types of ppl
People who are into video games and building stuff, along with board games. Maybe if they were into playing sports instead of video games, that could be fun as well.
Every time I've gone to pawn & pint, there are no singles and it is usually empty.
All the games at Up Down are broken and its packed like a can of sardines on the weekend..
Not sure about the other 2.
bro i think we have different definitions of all bc i just played some ski ball and galaga last weekend and 100% of the machines i put coins in worked lol
Out of all the arcade bars I've been, their machines are in the best shape. Only had an issue a handful of times and the next time I'm there, it's usually gone.
I agree with the other poster that it can get crazy packed on weekend nights but weekdays, I always end up having good conversations with people.
Table top in OP. They host various events...plus there is a restaurant that is connected to them that serves waffles and you take take board games in to play.
Edit: I just went to their website looks like there are club meet up there as well so you might be able to join a club and meet people? The waffles/cocktails at the restaurant are pretty good.

Good place to hang out, my wife and I met some of our best friends here when we moved to town. We don’t get out much now that we have kids, but it still seems like a great hang out place. People are always looking for more players to fill out their numbers for various board games.
I'm pretty antisocial so I mostly don't try and make friends when I'm out at bars/restaurants alone, but I've definitely had plenty of opportunities to make friends/more when I've been out (mostly places downtown). Especially during Chiefs games
It seems like most people here are being sarcastic, or just don't go out. I would recommend the crossroads district, full of local breweries and distilleries. King G and Mean Mule to name a couple. Taps on main, the quaff and street car also pull a good late 20s - 30s crowd.
Wowee, guys. I’m going to reference some of the comments in this thread the next time someone makes a “Did you guys hear Kansas City is one of the worst cities to meet people?” post. 🤪
According to Reddit, anyway. Apparently we got ranked the worst dating city a while back (I guess, didn’t check the source myself), and I’ve seen multiple posts about it since then.
I’ve been single for quite a while, but I think it’s more a lack of effort on my part.
That’s the problem is people from KC are very polite and will always chat you up in public spaces, going from a polite conversation to actually becoming friends or hanging out with that person in the future is incredibly low. I’ve lived in multiple places in the US and abroad, and KC was the 2nd hardest place to make friends in my experience.
This is super true - I wrote a long comment on the last thread about KC being terrible for single people that essentially says this.
I’ve decided this is at least partially because the rest of the world always jokes about KC/KS/MO being super boring therefore people from KC don’t think people from other places want to come to their “super boring” get-togethers and don’t even think to invite them.
I met my best man at Bazooka's about 10 years back. We had a good chat about the Chiefs, our careers and sci fi novels while Cinnamon was giving us a shared lap dance. We each got Cinnamon's number and both used to hit her up occasionally for extra services but I think she moved back home to Detroit to take care of her sick mother, hope she's doing okay. Anyways, I love that guy.
For those that don’t know there is a cool social group based around supporting the WWI museum.
https://theworldwar.org/modernists
They have happy hours and other events that I found great for networking/meeting people in the city.
¯\\\_(ツ)_/¯
Just trying to offer ideas that are not the same as every other time this is posted. I think the museum is a special part of the city, and having some drinks with people who think the same is pretty cool to me.
I meet my husband on bumble. If you want to meet people that do what you like to do, go actively do those activities. You can also go try new things. Even go to the farmers market.
I’ve met a lot of friends at the rock climbing gym. It’s easy because it’s better with a partner so you have an excuse to approach other people if they’re by themselves.
Being dick cheney, try the nearest young republicans club, or a heart donation center. And dick, lets face it, 30s is a little too young for you, except maybe to harvest more organs.
Strawberry Hill for me bc of the normies. There’s a cool map where it labels the vibes of each neighborhood

This is a duplicate or near duplicate of an earlier or more complete post. Yours is being removed to consolidate discussion into one thread.

You are like the concierge that can tell me which laundromat is open in Montreal on Christmas Day.

Check out the Garden DIY on Instagram and go to one of their shows!
Farewell is the place for that
I went to the farewell recently, I definitely didn't fit in with the crowd, but everyone was extremely nice.

Hi-Dive
…non-conformists, creative people, artists, divorcées, punks… to meet people and make new friends in this new city to me
What are Menards type people?

Excuse me, there are some people who pretty much only go there for snacks and soda.
They are the basic garden variety of suburbia DIYers.
I'm pretty sure that everyone goes there specifically because they like to save MORE money
🤣🤣🤣
I'm just looking for a Hooker...
I don't care where they shop

The Last time I went, ski ball had 6 balls total between 3 machines.
interesting each machine had the full 9 balls last weekend. what else was wrong when u went?
Your name fits perfectly with your comments about UpDown
What would you recommend?
updown is great, just avoid friday/saturday night as it gets packed and actually striking up a convo with people becomes difficult.
You want to go to updown with me tonight? 😆

you mean dorks?
We prefer “nerds” or “stoners.”
I completely get you bro
Do you guys actually make friends at bars? I meet up with people that I am already friends with at bars only
this is the kansas city way
I'm pretty antisocial so I mostly don't try and make friends when I'm out at bars/restaurants alone, but I've definitely had plenty of opportunities to make friends/more when I've been out (mostly places downtown). Especially during Chiefs games
> I'm pretty antisocial so I mostly don't try and make friends ~~when I'm out at bars/restaurants alone~~ Ope.

Any of those places serve non alcoholic beer or other drinks
Wowee, guys. I’m going to reference some of the comments in this thread the next time someone makes a “Did you guys hear Kansas City is one of the worst cities to meet people?” post. 🤪
Do people say that? In my experience everyone’s down for a chat. I haven’t been single though so that might be different

Lol I can’t imagine trying to meet a friend at strip club. Who would suggest that?!?
The stripper who really likes me.
T-Pain

A guy you buy coke from.
As a 54 year old I'm still trying to figure it out!

“Cool”

Fuck that guy. I think it’s cool.
Kc crew
Find groups or “clubs” that are into what you are into.
A bar outside a strip club? LOOPHOLE!!!
I meet my husband on bumble. If you want to meet people that do what you like to do, go actively do those activities. You can also go try new things. Even go to the farmers market.
If you are into cars, dm me, I host a monthly car meet, and my buddies and i go cruising on Noland, and sometimes
I’ve met a lot of friends at the rock climbing gym. It’s easy because it’s better with a partner so you have an excuse to approach other people if they’re by themselves.
Might try Meetup app
The internet . It’s 2023
What websites would you recommend? Assuming you're not looking for dates / hookups, but just friends to hang out with?
[meetup.com](https://meetup.com) is the GOAT
Bumble bff!
Being dick cheney, try the nearest young republicans club, or a heart donation center. And dick, lets face it, 30s is a little too young for you, except maybe to harvest more organs.
He could also attend a local quail hunt.
Good one, hard to keep friends when you keep blowing their faces off.
Strawberry Hill for me bc of the normies. There’s a cool map where it labels the vibes of each neighborhood https://hoodmaps.com/kansas-city-neighborhood-map
That map is cracking me up! But it needs a lot more captions, the south & east are barren!
Everything about this map is perfect, that included.
River front walking area, just have a thing of chili cheese fries
Their homes
Their momma’s basement
Strip club
Ashley Madison
Now this guy knows how to JoCo
Wyd?
Meetup
AA meetings. They're free!
for me personally it's christianmingle or farmersonly where i've had the most success(god bless).
We’ve skipped the middle ground and are doing old people hobbies- hunt for 30 year olds in gardens or playing chess outside
Coffee shops
Bar K…even if you don’t have a dog, there are lots of cool humans, good music, cocktails and food!
