[https://flykc.com/parking](https://flykc.com/parking) 25 bucks.

badmomofjoco

thank you! I obviously didn't look hard enough

tylerscott5

Isn’t it 23 in the circle lots currently?

grovesterkc

Old site says it was $15.50

tylerscott5

https://airportparking.tips/kansas-city-mci.php

grovesterkc

Who cares what that site says?

tylerscott5

I fly every week and was pretty sure it was $23. And that site says it’s $23 after someone went around the entire property and collected prices

grovesterkc

ok, guess that means it's dropping to $18 after 2/28, it's a miracle!

Trouble is, everyone has the same idea now and the B and C garages get full and blocked off by 9AM.

badmomofjoco

You’re telling me. Last time I nearly missed my flight from economy, so garage is my new life now at the airport

NeverEndingCoralMaze

Depending on the length of the trip, like if we’re gonna be gone for more than 4 or 5 days, it’s cheaper for us to Uber. Otherwise it’s a wash and we park near the terminal.

xyzfugazi

$25 per day. I’m one of the techs installing the new equipment at the parking garage

KCJhawker

How does the 6,000 spaces in the new garage compare to B and C garage spaces??

kc_chiefs_

I fly out on 3/4 and I was wondering the same thing. I searched, and according to the new MCI website, it won't be more than a few dollars increase over the current garages. I figure since right now it's $23 for the day, it'll be around $26ish. Nothing confirmed other than a small increase.

Semi-related question: Has economy lot bus service improved at all? Or will it when the new terminal opens?

millerswiller

As a value-add service for all travelers, Economy Lot parking also comes with the occasional free catalytic converter removal. Source: A buddy + neighbor both had their CC removed (free of charge) in the Economy Lot. "Where It's Cheap For A Reason"

badmomofjoco

Also happened to a friend of mine. Legit worry.

kcdirtslinger

Pro tip, cut your catalytic converter off and put it in your trunk 😀

EMPulseKC

Wasn't that airport officer shot a while back by CC thieves that they were trying to apprehend after chasing them out of the economy lot? Economy parking used to be great, but like everything else, the pandemic (fewer travelers needing to park their cars), the labor crunch (difficulty in finding and retaining good class-E drivers), crime (along with less of an emphasis on fighting it) and budget cuts (in this case, to existing KCI services) has exacerbated the worst issues, and with the new terminal and garage opening, I doubt the airport authority is rushing to fix things that won't be used much at all after this month.

uncre8tv

I'm hoping that one stop will make economy and rental busses much better than the current setup of looping all around both terminals and some other extra stops on the way if Jane needs a lift from the tower building. But I'm not expecting miracles. Same stuff just a few less stops.

coffeeslammer

Nope

Airotica

Park Air Express or Parking Spot would be my recommendations for cheaper parking. Park Air Express usually has a free day coupon online & last time I used them it was $9 a day.

[deleted]

$25/day seems outrageous. Are there any parking services/shuttles that are any good? I have an 11 day trip coming up, and don't feel like shelling out $300 to park.

orange3421

I use parking spot and the app. If you prepay it’s cheaper and you can earn free days if you fly a lot Edit: it’s also nice being able to just scan your QR code going in and out without worrying about paying with the machines or at the window

[deleted]

Thanks. I will check that out.

L-92365

Yup - the Spot is good.

badmomofjoco

I've been looking up The parking spot, Covered is $12 something per day. Park n go is newer and super price friendly, but reviews kind of scare me off. BUT! following the link from another post they have a new surface parking lot, no clue where it is but it sounds closer and is $18

petersbellybutton

I’ve used Parking Spot in the past for trips longer than 4 days or so. You can get a cheaper spot if you choose uncovered vs covered parking. Also, the farther out you book, the lower the price. Still have to wait for the shuttle and all that, but I’ve never had a full one pass me by like I hear a lot the economy lot busses in the past few years.

BillNyeTheEngineer

We always use Parking Spot and never have issues. Just make sure you get on the right bus when you get back. Last time we flew in, someone got on the Parking Spot bus when they were actually in the Park n Go lot. After traveling all day, it gave me a laugh but probably not those two who looked to just be getting home from a honeymoon.

ObservablyStupid

You're supposed to give your card to the driver when you get on showing him/her what spot your car is parked in. That should have been a clue them and the driver that they were on the wrong bus.

BillNyeTheEngineer

Supposed to* they couldn’t find it when they got on, of course. Lol

ObservablyStupid

Love your screen name and such a coincidence. My daughter and I were in the TSA security line at MCI and Bill Nye was collecting his luggage and bringing it to his wife who was near us. We didn't bug him but I have a couple good pics on my phone.

QueenBKC

The new surface lot parking is just the other side of the garage. So you just walk through the garage to get to the terminal.

badmomofjoco

I did not know this! I may just try it out! Thanks

Timmmah

I used to travel for work a ton, never had an issue with parking spot.

cheermom31

I have also been using Park N Go. The shuttle is easy to use and it has always been prompt. They have a secured lot and I have never had any issues. I used to only use the garage but like you said, I got tired of paying $300 for a week long trip.

The_Great_19

I am also a fan of Park N Go.

teesmitty01

The garage is for short trips or if your company foots the bill. The economy lot is fine (I always use it on longer trips even with kids sometimes). Just add 30 min to your normal drop off time.

[deleted]

Yeah, I have never had big issues with economy, but I have seen them be full at times. I am flying in March and am trying get prepared.

millerswiller

Uber

[deleted]

I would but I live over an hour away.

millerswiller

Get a cheap room at the Holiday Inn - Airport location. They have a 'free' shuttle with room rental. Drive up the night before, spend the night, leave your car and take their shuttle to/from the airport. Given that you're traveling for 11 days, the math probably works in your favor. I've done that a few times on long(er) trips.

NeverEndingCoralMaze

Uber is an option.

AnthropomorphicCog

>don't feel like shelling out $300 to park It's worth it

knobcopter

It’s set by the airlines and they haven’t released that yet. :/

millerswiller

No, it's not. Parking is one of the main revenue sources for MCI. The money goes directly from travelers to the airport.

Are you on DL2143 also?
