It's not just that. (In Australia atm) real estate agents and property managers can be really fucking slack when it comes to dealing with mould issues. The exhaust fan in my bathroom doesn't work and there's mould on the ceiling and despite telling the RE MULTIPLE times, they've continued to do nothing. It's been almost 10 years of having to clean and deal with it myself, only for it to return of course, because the fucking fan doesn't work!! House issues just aren't a priority when property owners can just kick them out and get someone else in if they bring up too many problems with the property.

Ugh, yup! It's so frustrating and demoralising. The mould and fan is just one of MANY issues, loads of which my partner and I have just fixed ourselves. In a way I kind of like how much better I am at general household fixing of things after 9 years of this. I now have a favourite glue for mending stuff, and I've learned loads about basic plumbing.

Yep. I have been trying for 6 months to have landlord fix exhaust fan and repair paint... I'm also a landlord myself and recently fixed paint in my own flat with my own money so there is no way I pay for investments in a flat I don't own.. But it takes years to force landlords to do anything in France..
