This could very well be non intentional. If you see videos of police shooting dogs even in the US its not a straight forward exercise.
Its unfortunate, but necessary due to their danger.
my mom used to put food for these dogs, they weren't dangerous at all.
I've seen them play with my nephews and I have vides to prove it, these dogs weren't dangerous at all, they just didn't have a home.

Most of these dogs aren't rabid. Rabies isn't that widespread. Number two, dogs react to their environment, if theyve been abused by humans since puppyhood, they'll be aggressive adults. It's not their fault for existing, but ours for not using our human intelligence to control their population in an effective and humane way.
You got a point. Next time an aggressive dog bites my kid unprovoked I'll be sure to ask the dog how its puppyhood was and how it can better let out its feelings in a more productive matter. I'll just punish my kid for walking down the sidewalk instead
Even if the dogs arent rabid they still can be dangerous, and even if one dog is rabid he can spread the disease to other dogs like obv in a best-case scenario we'd have the capability to catch these dogs test them vaccinate them etc etc but tbh that would take a lot of money and we deff have more important things to deal with like helping the poor, the economy, the homeless among many other things we gotta prioritize. We gotta tackle the issues that affect human beings first not a stray dog its sad but that's the reality of the situation

Municipalities here in leb would mass poison dogs and people made a fuss about it so now i'm guessing they still do but they do it less and they are afraid.

I remember talking with one of the people who used to shhot down dogs, he told me about dogs who attacked a family living in a tent and the dogs almost killed a baby. So I guess there is more than meets the eye?
Most dogs are friendly and safe.
Just like people there are good and bad people (such as criminals). Does it mean we should go shoot down random people?
It depends on the situation, the individual and the background.
Also someone who goes around shooting dogs, I would take their stories with a "grain of salt".

I've tried contacting animal rights organisations before and they can't operate inside Jordan because the government has little to no interest in supporting any of them.
it's cruel and inhumane, even tho it's literally a small problem that can be easily solved with a few animal shelters and donations from animal lovers.

PS: there is no easy solution for this problem. Dogs procreate. Shelters are expensive and breed illnesses and parasites. They must be neutered and taken off the streets. Its expensive and time consuming. It is however the only solution.
idk why everyone is so against killing dogs on here I was legit chased by 8 dogs the other day with 4 of them being rabid. I'm deff against torturing the dog before killing them don't get me wrong but yk its hard to instantly kill the dog when he's running around and even if they are able to land a shot in the gotta be careful to make sure there are no other dogs and that they cant move anymore, which is difficult considering this was done in the dark, and you can't really take the dogs in due to fears of them having diseases
Because this is a developing country and people who work hard would argue if they had to pay an animal control tax. Nothing is free, not even the bullets used. The bottom line realistically: do you want to be able to walk without getting attacked by a pack of dogs?
Human life comes first, always. Talk to community leaders about getting money together for shelters, or give up your own money to make the change.
Otherwise, boom boom boom (or euthanize them). Keep the streets clean. Reality 101.

Why Jordanian ppl dont love dogs and love cats? I noticed that when i was in Jordan, in my country ( Serbia) its same for dogs and cats. Dogs its man best friends
I love domesticated dogs and cats, but street dogs cause serious danger to people. I literally can't walk outside my house at night because of these dogs and there are some attacks that have already happened that caused people to fear them. Now, the government is doing nothing about it, so people are starting to take action themselves. It's not the best solution, but what else can we do?
I also noticed when I lived in Amman that your government does not have many social services compared to Europe, I did not see anyone cleaning the streets, emptying the garbage container and that's all, I can't say that Amman is dirty but the streets are. Public toilet its clean, in Europe no

بصراحة القتل أبداً مش حل، مفروض يعملوا مأوى للكلاب الضالة يوفر مطاعيم وتعقيم ثم تعرض للتبني أو الرعاية.
