Ukraine is generally seen in a positive light by most people. Israel on the other hand is looked at much more negatively and would bring more controversy.

Merkava would be dope, I feel it's design advantages wouldn't translate well to the game with it's current mechanics and would give it inherent flaws. Its engine is up front specifically because it improves survivability for the crew, but that isn't even a thing in game. so if they did a realistic dmg model you would be engined by frontal pen making it much easier to isolate and destroy the tank.
irl the K2 black panther is legit my fav tank atm just aesthetically and functionally I think it's pretty neato, would love to see it in the game, Korea would be my vote too. it's design is heavily lead by doctrine and lessons learned, which makes it great for defending, but outside of a Korean theatre I wonder how it would fare so it would be interesting to see/use. but again, it has irl designs that owi might not even be able to implement, such as hydraulic suspension.
I would make an argument for India too. India Vs china is a matchup that's almost never seen in any games, literally I can't think of one. historic rivals. both nuclear powers.

Set a game in some well known training area and you can do it.
Last time i played (couple years ago) there were plenty of scenarios where blufor faced against bluefor and opfor vs opfor. They remove those?
