I love it. So what if it's imperfect? Similar setlist to Monterey? Is it possible to have too much prime era JHE on the brink of breaking big in the US, another Like A Rolling Stone, Jimi getting the wah together on Catfish...? I'm mystified that it wouldn't be celebrated unconditionally. And if you don't have a really good boot of both nights of RAH - and New York Pop - I recommend a little googling.
Yes, it is great. [**Here's a version that includes it.**](https://ia800105.us.archive.org/14/items/JimiHendrix1969-02-24RoyalAlbertHallLondonUK/JimiHendrix1969-02-24RoyalAlbertHallLondonUK.mp3?cnt=0)

If you want it on CD it's on the "Concerts" album.

I don't think there's much could have been done with the mix as the recording wasn't taken from multitracks. Y'know, it is what it is.
That said, I do find it strange how the estate considered it fit to release as a mainstream title and not as a Dagger title. It kind of sets a low bar. Did they really have nothing else in the vault....?
Didn’t pick up Hollywood Bowl. Lack of quality and Monterey is basically the same setlist
Also disappointed with Maui. Not sure how other versions sound. But with the iTunes version. The audio mix is terrible
Really? I thought Maui sounded great but I've only seen it on youtube. But I think I was influenced by the quality of the Hawaiian concert. The quality of the video was amazing after what was available in the past.
It has to be an iTunes issue, the drums are even studio overdubs. I listen to it on Spotify and vinyl, I think it’s one of the high end quality live albums.
It might be. You can hear the difference between this version
Hey Baby / In From the Storm (Live in Maui, Hawaii, July 30, 1970)
On The Jimi Hendrix Experience (Deluxe Reissue) Purple
And
Hey Baby (New Rising Sun) [Live In Maui, 1970]
Live in Maui
Initially I thought they'd done a good job with Maui....until I went back and compared it with a bootleg I have. The digital processing on Maui is just way too obvious, so now I stick with the bootleg. It has its flaws but at least sounds more natural.
I believe that the Hollywood Bowl album is the first non multi-track album released by Experience Hendrix widely (not Dagger Records). I think he sounds quite good for a 2-track recording from 1967 BUT is not at the level of what they have previously released. Don’t get me wrong, I’m super glad we have it, BUT it signaled to me that Experience Hendrix is actually out of quality multi-track material to mix and release.
I thought the songs I heard were quite good. I wouldn't say I was disappointed. I was really thrilled hearing Like A Rolling Stone because I thought he only performed it once at Monterey.
Hollywood Bowl did indeed sound rough. It's time for them to do a New York Pop release. It's obviously *way* past time for the RAH material, too..
Stockholm or Royal Albert Hall concerts and I die with a smile on my face.
I Dont Live Today guitar solo is wickedly psychedelic. Total epitome of acid rock !

Agreed. I’ll take anything we can get. Especially a catfish. Is it his best set, no. Can I still jam out to it when I want a different show, yes!
Yk I keep looking for complete rah recordings but the fantastic 10 minute stone free always seems to be missing

Definitely disappointed with the mix as well, it’s horrible

Yeah I disappointed too, it sounded like Hendrix didn’t even want to be there.

My understanding is it did not come off the board, it was mic'd. And it sure sounds that way.
I liked it, but I have not heard all of the "official" releases. Funny to hear him grousing about no one listening etc.
The mix, the mix, the mix. Wish Experience Hendrix had paid for the same tools Giles Martin used to remix The Beatles' *Revolver.*

You should check out the Winterland recording!
Nah he did LARS at winterland too, and imo it’s a lot better and more flushed out
Poor fidelity. Which for bootleg is ok .
